Ji Fanyin peeled oranges while listening to Zhang Ning complaints. When she paused to take a breather, Ji Fanyin handed a peeled one to her which Zhang Ning received nonchalantly.

She separated the orange into two and suddenly piped up, “Talking about your sister, I am suddenly reminded of something.”

“What?” Ji Fanyin asked while signing on the agreement handed to her by Shen Qi.

“She’s pregnant.” Zhang Ning continued, “And Li Xiaoxing is paralysed from the waist up.”

Ji Fanyin listened to Zhang Ning’s slow narration of the events but the developments had not shocked her in the least.

Li Xiaoxing’s paralysis was most probably caused by his own inner demons. If he could get over them, he would be able to stand up once again. If not, he might really have to spend his life in bed.

As compared to Li Xiaoxing, Song Shiyu seemed to be living an easy life.

That was why she decided to send Song Shiyu his last supper.

… It was a box of items left behind by ‘Ji Fanyin’. Not only had she locked it in her room, she had specifically chosen a box with a lock. They consist of the little trinkets she had gathered over the years that carried memories she had with Song Shiyu.

The ballpoint pen Song Shiyu previously borrowed from her, the birthday presents she received from him… She had secretly kept them and hidden them from prying eyes.

Even though Song Shiyu’s gentlemanly appearance was a facade, it had still provided her warmth in her harsh adulthood.
