I was on the verge of tears after ending the call. I had never thought that Zhuang Yu would care so much about me. To be honest, her words of encouragement did calm me down while also giving me the courage to face what lay before me. Not only do I have her, but I also had Wu Yu to rely on.

However, I still felt dreadful and sad about the situation. So that afternoon, I let myself go; I just wanted to bury my head in Wu Yu’s chest. Even though this had gone against my principle of flirt-but-not-make-a-move, I just could not help it at that moment, as that was all I wanted. He probably had no idea that, for a woman, being in the arms of the man she loves would give her the encouragement to face this dreadful world.

I nervously and stubbornly pressed my head on his chest, but I could not muster up the courage to put my arms around him, as he had pushed me away several times. As I thought about the fact that I had never ever given him a hug in the past, a pair of hands suddenly pressed gently and carefully on my waist. Yes, he was hugging me.

I woke up very early the next morning which is also the day the fire would happen. Feeling rather nervous and having a lot on my mind, I decided to go out for a stroll. No one was awake, not even Wu Yu.

The mountain was cold like a freezer in the morning, so I put on the jackets that I purchased in the village. Even though there was barely anyone in this area, there were no wild animals either, so it was fairly safe.
