Chen Kai exhaled, he deleted the unsent text word by word and adjusted his emotions before re-typing another text.

Chen Kai, “I wasn’t with my phone darling, what is it?”

Lu Jingyan replied, “Look at the chat.”

Chen Kai had already read all the texts, but he waited about ten seconds before typing in the chat, “What do the two goddesses want to eat?”

Song Xian chose the restaurant, it was a Cantonese place that opened recently. Chen Kai booked the private room, and Young Lady Lu was just there to eat.

Since it was still early after the meal, Chen Kai scrolled through his phone with one hand to search for their next location.

There weren't many places they could go at night, and in the end, they went back to the bar they frequented.

After leaving the room, Chen Kai went to foot the bill, Song Xian went to the washroom and Lu Jingyan waited for them at the elevator.

It was the peak dinner period and there were large crowds leaving the elevator everytime it opened.

Chen Kai and Song Xian were taking a while and in her boredom, Lu Jingyan sent Sheng Xian a text.

“Brother, have you eaten?”

As always, he read the text but didn’t reply.

She had been sending him texts for more than a week and was starting to run out of ideas. Lu Jingyan didn’t bother looking into the screen, texting him random letters, it was as though text messages were free.

The lift door opened and another group of people came out. She continued to send out random messages and just then, she heard a long string of notification alerts.

Lu Jingyan turned in the direction of the sound.

It was Sheng Xian. He wore a black trench coat, and walked out of the lift with a hand in his pocket.

She kept her phone and straightened.

Their eyes met. Just as Lu Jingyan was about to greet him, someone in front of her called out to him.

Lu Jingyan turned.

The voice came from a girl wearing a mask and cap. Even though Lu Jingyan couldn’t see her face, she recognised her clothes.

She was dressed exactly the same as the person she ran into at work that
