If it was Chen Kai, he would have been frightened off with such a tone.

But Lu Jingyan wasn’t the least bit fazed. Instead, she inched her head closer to him.

She was so close he could feel her breath, it carried a faint sweetness from the candy.

Sheng Xian swallowed and he glanced down at her.
