Chen Kai was stumped.

He encountered the same situation twice in the same day.

Chen Kai’s heart went cold, “Bro, you’re making me feel bad.”

Sheng Xian ignored him, turning to the waiter, “Bill please.”

Chen Kai was surprised, “Ah, that’s not necessary, bro, I can do it….”

Sheng Xian replied, “You’re thinking too much.”

The hotel basement carpark was the last place Sheng Xian had proposed for Lu Jingyan to be a witness.

Their conversation hadn’t been confrontational or relentless. They spoke in a mild manner for less than five minutes but Lu Jingyan felt as though they had a huge argument.

At the start, after she had rejected him in such an awkward situation, she didn’t know what to say to him.

They got into a stalemate before they even got to know each other.

Lu Jingyan had never had a relationship that ended after she got the man. She thought she would gradually forget about him but instead, he seemed to constantly creep into her thoughts.
