Holding his umbrella, he returned her gaze for three seconds before turning to leave.

Lu Jingyan watched his silhouette and blinked in disbelief.

He left?!

It was only when he completely disappeared from sight did she believe he had really left.

Why was he being difficult? Didn’t he use her birthday as his mobile hotspot password?

After a few seconds, Lu Jingyan snapped out of his icy indifference.

It wasn’t her problem.

She pondered for a while and slowly let out a slow "tsk".

It was yet another late night for Lu Jingyan. She only stirred at 3 the next afternoon, stretching lazily as she opened her eyes.

Feeling grumpy when she woke up, Lu Jingyan frowned up at the ceiling. After a long while, she headed into the washroom barefooted.

After her shower, Lu Jingyan changed into lounge wear and scrolled through her messages as she walked downstairs.

Ex-Scum 18: Yanyan, even though it's been three months since we separated, I still can't forget you.

Ex-Scum 27: Little Yan, I'm still waiting for you. As long as you are willing to be with me, it doesn’t matter if you don't love me.

Ex-Scum 35: Jingyan, I really love you. Can we not break up?

Lu Jingyan read the whole string of messages asking to get back together, and smirked emotionlessly. She tapped into the message by Current Scum 1, "Babe, I miss you so much today. I just reserved the best seat at your favourite restaurant, let's have dinner tonight."

She met him at the bar last month.

That day, he dumped his girlfriend in order to please a rich young lady.

Coincidentally, Lu Jingyan bumped into the scene. While Current Scum 1 was in the washroom, she deliberately walked over from the opposite direction, and pretended to bump into him, stealthily leaving her lipstick on the floor.

Feigning ignorance, Lu Jingyan continued walking ahead until he picked up the lipstick and called out to her. She then turned with a confused expression.

She behaved demurely when he returned her lipstick and exchanged a few pleasantries. Afterwich, she went to the bar and ordered him a glass of wine. She had also written the words 'thank you' on a napkin to be passed to him.

As expected, after the waiter delivered the note and drink, he glanced over towards her. It didn’t take long before he made his way over.

That was how she managed to get Current Scum's WeChat. She had always been good at dealing with such scums. Due to the urgency of her uncle’s matter the night before, Lu Jingyan hadn’t been able to inform Song Xian. Since Current Scum 1 had reserved a restaurant near Song Xian's place, Lu Jingyan asked her out on her way over.

Coincidentally, Song Xian was available so they arranged to meet later that night.

Lu Jingyan was punctual today, and didn't let her Current Scum 1 wait long.

When Current Scum 1 saw her, he immediately stood up to pull her chair and arrange her napkin. During the course of the meal, he refilled her tea and passed her serviettes, behaving extremely attentive.

Lu Jingyan swallowed the last bit of food slowly, she raised her head and saw that Current Scum 1was done with his meal and was staring at her.

The main event was coming.

She feigned ignorance and pulled out a serviette to wipe the corners of her lips,"You're done?"

Current Scum 1 nodded.

Seeing his silence, Lu Jingyan decided to text the waters, "Shall we go?"

"Let's wait a while more." Current Scum 1 answered quickly, worried she would leave the next second.

Lu Jingyan held her smile, looking pure and innocent, "What is it?"

Current Scum 1 stared at her eyes, seemingly trying to form his words. After a few seconds, he asked, "Little Yan, be my girlfriend."

Lu Jingyan widened her eyes, pretending to be shocked. Deep inside, she was thinking about the limitation of these scums' vocabulary. They would always use the same terms, “be my girlfriend”, followed by “I really like you”…
