She was a princess who lived in a castle, she was born with a golden spoon and was meant to live a great life.

But he didn’t think she was happy.

Instead, he found her lonely.

The night he had carried her home, she rejected the honey water offered by her housekeeper, and had huddled under the sheets alone like an abandoned kitten.

He had never been nosy, and especially not towards a woman, but in that moment, he couldn’t help feeling sympathetic.

Without hesitation, he alighted from the car and took the cigarette from her mouth.

His brows lifted when he recalled his actions, and his finger accidentally tugged a page and tore it.

Sheng Xian, are you crazy?

She has nothing to do with you. Forget about her smoking, you even tossed an entire pack of cigarettes.

You became a human shield just because she sneezed from the wind.

You volunteered to be her driver when she was going home.

Sheng Xian, are you a masochist?

That weekend, Lu Jingyan stayed at home to recuperate. Fortunately, she worked out regularly, and was in good health. She had taken drowsy medicines and was mostly asleep during her weekends. By Sunday night, she was almost fully recovered.

On Monday, she woke up before dawn, perhaps because she had slept too much.

As it was still early, she lazed about in bed with her phone and waited till her alarm rang before preparing for the day.

After her shower, she took her phone, prepared to head down for breakfast when her phone rang.

It was Lu Hongcheng, who hadn’t been home in a few days.

Lu Jingyan answered the call, before she could greet him, Lu Hongcheng asked, “Have you arranged the task I mentioned last week?”

He mentioned two things last week.

One was her matchmaking session and the other was for his business partner’s daughter to go viral.

She didn’t even know who she was being matched to, so Lu Hongcheng must be referring to the second matter. “Mmh, she’s viral.”

“Which day?”

“What time?”

Lu Hongcheng asked a few simple questions before moving on to more important matters,
