Transmigration with Cheat Codes Chapter 20.1: “Divine Art of Heavenly Restoration”

In “Martial Arts Ascension”, there wasn't a very obvious main storyline. Within it, the plot maintained a basic consistency with the larger environment but exhibited a considerable degree of randomness.

For example, a random person might have been a villain in one saved game file but could have turned into a hero in the next saved game file.

Therefore, apart from major institutions like Tianhua Sect, Blood Oath Association, White Cloud Residence, and similar large-scale systems and organizations like Tower of a Thousand Treasures, most other occurrences couldn't be predicted using previous experiences.

As for Chen Ziyuan, he was a big boss with a relatively low probability of appearing, and he only rose to prominence in the mid to late game. Not all players would encounter him, and in many saved game files, he simply didn't exist.

Experienced players have conducted research, and if the starting mode happens to be sect management, and the sect's location is situated in the area of Yezhou, it's possible to intersect with Chen Ziyuan earlier in the game.

Chen Ziyuan's actual name was Chen Shen, and "Ziyuan" was his courtesy name.

In his early years, his family had once hired a Confucian scholar to tutor him in literature, and he had a fondness for calligraphy and painting. Therefore, after entering the martial world, he retained some of the demeanor of a literati.

This big boss had a tumultuous life. At a young age, his elder family members passed away, leaving Chen Ziyuan somewhat suspicious about the circumstances of their deaths.

At the same time, he desired to acquire some skills. Thus, he managed the family's land and assets, packed his belongings, and set off to study in a distant place.

As an ordinary person without any connections in the martial world, Chen Ziyuan would find it extremely difficult to even get close to a martial arts sect unless he had some extraordinary encounter.

For instance, the Seven Stars Sect, which was considered a formidable martial arts sect in the eyes of those in the martial world, might appear as nothing more than an imposing Taoist temple to ordinary people.

Even if a commoner was to encounter skilled individuals from the sect while visiting to offer incense, those individuals might not necessarily display any special qualities directly.

Fortunately, over the years, the relationship between the imperial court and the martial world had remained relatively harmonious, leading to the opening of numerous martial arts academies of all sizes across the land.

In the end, Chen Ziyuan found himself within the premises of the Zhenwei Martial Arts Academy. However, this was just the surface; the true situation was that the owner of the Zhenwei Martial Arts Academy had taken an interest in something among Chen Ziyuan's belongings.

At that time, the city was teeming with martial artists, and making a move forcefully would have risked discovery by righteous individuals. So, they had opted for a conciliatory approach. When recruiting new members, they had the newcomers present the item as a token of goodwill.

The item that caught their attention was an art book, a rather ordinary one in terms of its artistic value. Its content depicted a beautiful woman holding a flower branch, engaged in playful antics with friends.

However, the people at the Zhenwei Martial Arts Academy saw beyond the surface beauty of the woman and realized that the essence of the art book was, in fact, a martial arts manual. This discovery sparked their ambition to possess it.

They managed to coax the manual away from Chen Shen, fearing that he might realize the true value of the precious item afterward. Consequently, they never dared to teach him their genuine martial arts techniques.

Instead, they made him perform various flawed and incomplete martial arts moves to handle tasks. After several years, Chen Shen, who had developed the mistaken impression that he couldn't excel in martial arts due to his poor aptitude, felt that he had made no progress.

He eventually left the martial arts academy and found a job at an escort agency. It wasn't until he got injured during a robbery while escorting a shipment that he began contemplating leaving the martial world behind.

Chen Shen ultimately chose to return to his hometown with the intention of leading a peaceful and uneventful life in his later years.

However, inexplicably, he was sought out and abducted by a formidable figure from the Ghost Cry Gang, who showed up at his doorstep and forcibly took him away.

In the absence of any player intervention to rescue them, among the four NPCs who were initially abducted, Lin San met an unfortunate fate.

As for the other three, Chen Shen employed his wits and crafted a fake treasure map. However, the mountain bandits had become suspicious due to the injuries sustained by their scouts sent to investigate the situation.

When it came time for the actual treasure hunt, they brought Chen Shen along and even had him take the lead in digging for the treasure.

Due to Chen Shen's deliberate efforts to sabotage the bandits, they suffered significant losses in manpower. However, in the end, they indeed discovered a very ancient chest.

Perhaps due to the passage of time, many of the items inside had decayed into ashes, leaving behind only a few pieces of gold and silver treasure.

The bandits were unaware that the flying ashes were originally part of a scroll that had been unrolled. It was only when the chest was opened that the scroll disintegrated into ashes due to exposure to the elements.

Chen Shen had an impeccable memory, and in that brief moment, he forcibly memorized all the contents of the scroll.

Later on, some players intercepted the erroneous map from the bandits based on this information and followed the route to dig for treasure. They had almost dug a tunnel into the mountainside but found nothing of value.

In the end, it was the game's official announcement that shed some light on the situation. Different in-game actions would lead to different events.

The fact that there was a scroll in the chest would only be triggered when Chen Ziyuan was taken by the bandits to dig for treasure, and he was the first to open the chest.

This meant that the contents of the scroll were intended solely for Chen Ziyuan and that the other NPCs had no chance to seize it.

Of course, even if someone had managed to seize the scroll, it wouldn't have been of much use. After all, having a photographic memory is an extremely rare and unique skill, not something that all game characters are equipped with.

The contents of this scroll can be traced back to a long time ago, left behind by a martial arts hermit known as the "Divine Art of Heavenly Restoration".

After the disappearance of this hermit for a century, the "Divine Art of Heavenly Restoration" unexpectedly found its way into the martial world, falling into the hands of three martial arts experts: Lofu Hermit, White Cloud Sage, and Son of Seven Stars.

"The Divine Art of Heavenly Restoration," in terms of its content, resembled more of a historical and philosophical collection than a martial arts manual.

The three individuals spent a long time studying it, only managing to grasp a faint understanding. However, when they tried to discuss their insights with each other, they discovered that their interpretations were entirely different from one another.

This gradually evolved from theoretical disagreements into physical conflicts, and eventually, they went their separate ways.

After parting ways, they each pursued their own martial paths according to their own interpretations. They all made rapid progress, with Lofu Hermit achieving the highest level of martial skill.

However, his demeanor became increasingly fierce and ruthless.

Ever since reading the "Divine Art of Heavenly Restoration," he harbored ambitions of dominating the martial world, leaving a trail of bloodshed wherever he went. With a group of followers, he plunged the martial world into chaos.

In the end, the Son of Seven Stars and White Cloud Sage joined forces to annihilate him.

Among the forces he once led, the majority still held onto Lofu Hermit's ideals and chose to distance themselves from the central region. They founded the Tianhua Sect in the western regions.

However, a small faction had clashed with Lofu Hermit due to differing beliefs long before his ultimate demise. These individuals later settled in the Southern Yue Mountains, giving rise to the origin of the Jinghua Temple.
