Transmigration with Cheat Codes Chapter 2.1 The Search for Resources

Green Stone Quintessence was, of course, a good item.

The basic attribute points of randomly generated characters weren’t fixed. Players had the opportunity to get some free attribute points as they leveled up or they could make minor adjustments using rare materials.

Among the various materials effective for boosting character attributes, the stone quintessence-based items were the most common.

Based on what Meng Jintang knew, the most powerful attribute-boosting medicine in the game was known as Dragon's Cave Stone Quintessence. Yet, acquiring it required defeating bosses or completing significant quests.

In contrast, the likelihood of obtaining Green Stone Quintessence was much more attainable. In the game “Martial Arts Ascension”, items were classified by quality, ranging from low to high: gray, white, green, blue, purple, orange, and gold.

Meng Jintang had never obtained a gold item herself, but given that she had only started playing the game for two days, that was statistically plausible. She had only encountered it twice in forum discussions.

The Green Stone Quintessence that she had obtained from opening the box was classified as a blue-quality item.

The texture of the Green Stone Quintessence resembled milk, and it displayed a bluish green color. When brought near the nose, a refreshing scent filled the air.

Meng Jintang held the bottle of Green Stone Quintessence in her palm, gazing at it for a moment before downing it all in one go.

The medicinal power dissolved and merged into her limbs and bones. Within fifteen minutes, Meng Jintang's character attributes underwent a drastic transformation.

The value of her innate constitution increased by three points, reaching ten. Her agility increased by two points, reaching five. Her physical fitness and aptitude both increased by one point, reaching four and eleven, respectively.

Her aptitude, which had been described as poor in the character note, was now described as average. Her health and energy bars increased to 120/120 and 160/220, correspondingly.

The miraculous medicine had induced unrealistically profound healing effects that defied scientific explanation. Meng Jintang now felt an unparalleled clarity in both mind and body; her once dull gaze had gained a subtle brightness.

Despite these changes, she still looked like a weak and ordinary person.

After a thorough inspection of the wooden box’s contents, she retrieved the short sword made of copper and began to evaluate it using her newly acquired appraisal skill.

She determined that the weapon was of white rank, slightly heavy in her grip, yet adhering to her current equipment requirements. Its attack power fell within the range of fifteen to twenty, a rather ordinary value.

Even if she were to stab a rookie like herself in a non-vital area with this sword, it would still take six or seven stabs to drain their health bar. The only advantage was its decent texture, which meant that she probably wouldn’t need to seek out a craftsman in the near future.

Meng Jintang carefully stowed the short sword away before unwrapping the cloth bundle containing the books.

With a deep breath, she revealed the titles one by one: “Basic Internal Skills”, “Basic Qinggong”, “Basic Palm Techniques”, and “Basic Sword Techniques”. There was also one other book with the title—”Linchi Sword Art”—that was strikingly unique compared to the previous four.

In the game “Martial Arts Ascension”, there was no widely agreed-upon standard walkthrough for the middle and end stages. However, most players recognized the importance of learning an internal skill followed by qinggong during the early stages.

The choice of the former determined overall strength, while the latter determined the ability to escape. Unarmed fighting techniques were advantageous as they did not require any weapons, allowing players to fight monsters barehanded without issue.

If a player chose to use a weapon, it would increase the attack distance and reduce the risk of injury.

According to a story posted on the game forum, a player was said to have randomly pulled a character card with low physical fitness but high agility. Despite this, they persisted and mastered qinggong and the use of hidden weapons.

During the early stages of the game, they were able to use the kite tactic* to defeat a boss fifteen levels higher than themselves.

*TLN: Kite Tactic refers to a military tactic that was used in ancient China, where a small group of soldiers would lure a larger enemy force into chasing them, much like a kite being flown on a string.

In “Martial Arts Ascension”, a highly personalized game, players were able to learn new martial arts techniques through secret manuscripts. However, the system did not guarantee that the player would successfully master the technique.

According to various analysis posts on the forum, the success rate of understanding the content of the secret technique handbook was positively correlated with one's aptitude.

But luck did affect this success rate. Every time a player tried to read the handbook, they used up a huge amount of energy.

In response to this, players, refusing to yield to such game design, quickly found the suitable cheat code—“Wisdom /r"

Meng Jintang entered the cheat code once more. In this heightened state of spiritual awareness, she felt as though a clear spring was flowing through her body.

She delved swiftly into the study of the martial arts technique handbooks, immersing herself in the teachings of internal skills before progressing to the teachings of qinggong, sword arts, and palm techniques.

However, she decided to withhold the book with the peculiar title "Linchi Sword Art" from her learning plan for the time being, as her aptitude points were too low.

The term “Wisdom” was synonymous with intelligence. In the game, this term represented the states of "enlightenment" and "epiphany." Much like the “Lucky Time” cheat code, it couldn't be used frequently.

Based on the shared experiences of players, characters with average aptitude could only activate the cheat code once every ten or fifteen days. ……

Two hours later.

[System: Successfully learned "Basic Internal Skills," internal energy increased by 50 points, gained 20 experience points.]

[System: Successfully learned "Basic Qinggong," agility increased by 1 point, gained 20 experience points.]

[System: Successfully learned "Basic Sword Techniques ," gained 20 experience points.]

[System: Successfully learned "Basic Palm Technique," physical fitness increased by 1 point, gained 20 experience points.]

Glancing at the system notification, Meng Jintang couldn’t help but feel that her luck was decent this time.

Players in Martial Arts Ascension could increase their personal attributes not only by leveling up and acquiring various treasures but also by learning various martial arts. For instance, qinggong was the most common type of martial art renowned for boosting agility points.

However, Meng Jintang had not expected that learning palm techniques could also increase her physique by a single point.

She reopened her personal panel and noticed a significant difference in the displayed texts compared to when she had woken up earlier that day.
