The Defeated Saintess Is On A Journey To Tame The Evil God Book 01 Chapter 03.07 - Good Sunny Days

"The level of the crisis only rose to Evil God rank when you arrived at your destination. The subsequent explanation the Hall of the Undying provided was that their intelligence network made a mistake."

Lucius's tone turned grave: "Their excuse is not the issue. After all, the Machiavellian Empire's mystic system isn't particularly outstanding. It's normal for them to make a mistake."

At this point, Xing Mo got up, looking like she realized something: "But not for the White Tower..."

"That's right." Lucius nodded, "Before dispatching Bell Protectors, the White Tower will perform astrological divination to confirm whether there is a substantial threat at the location."

"But, the information the White Tower gave out stated that... the threat was at the mythical creature rank."

"You mean to say someone altered the real information given out by the White Tower?" Xing Mo's hands trembled slightly.

This was a very scary thing. The White Tower had always been considered as a miracle left by the Goddess of the Starsea herself. In the entire Citadel, only a handful of distinguished individuals could enter the White Tower.

If the instructor's guess was correct, then an imperial agent must have infiltrated the Citadel, and his status in the Citadel should be very high.

Their goal was to let the Evil God descend. They were even able to enter the White Tower...

"This is blasphemy..." Xing Mo murmured.

"They already achieved their objective. The Evil God descended and entered the Citadel. And it all happened during the time when Headmaster Merlin was absent." Lucius said in a quiet voice.

"Is this all part of their plan?" Xing Mo suddenly felt her heart being constrained, "No... it's all my fault. I shouldn't have brought her..."

"Don't blame yourself. You could never have anticipated there to be such a ploy." Lucius said comfortingly, "Actually, you bringing her into the Citadel is more advantageous to us. The imperial agent must hold a very high position. It won't be possible to expose him in a short period of time. This is our chance."

"Are you thinking of using Aurora as bait to lure that guy out?" Xing Mo looked up.

"That's right. As long as the little girl is in the Citadel, someone will contact her sooner or later." Lucius said, "The rainstorm outside might be terrible, but what's really deadly is the hole in the umbrella."

Xing Mo took a deep breath to calm herself: "I will appease her. At the same time, I will pay attention to anyone who shows interest in her."

"That's my pupil." Lucius nodded in approval, "There's no need to worry. No matter what their purpose is, so long as we banish the Evil God from this world, their schemes will naturally be thwarted."

Lucius waved his wand again, and the golden starlight in the air rapidly changed, forming a string magic formation.

"This is?" Xing Mo mumbled.

"The banishment ceremony's string formula requires Merlin's Superstring Magic Formation, a large amount of auxiliary materials, as well as some key materials."

The golden light quickly arranged into a text that listed the materials necessary for the ceremony.

"Angel's Tear, God's Blood?" Xing Mo frowned.

"They are key ingredients necessary to carry out the ceremony. We need to make the Evil God wear the Angel's Tear. We need to use her blood to concoct a magic potion to seal her godhead in the tear, and then employ the string magic formation to banish her from this world." Lucius explained.

"Putting Angel's Tear aside..." The corners of Xing Mo's mouth twitched, "Instructor, can Gods bleed?"

Lucius paused for a moment, then facepalmed: "That's indeed a problem..."

You just realized this now! Of course it's a problem! That lass is an Evil God! If it were possible to make her bleed, then why not just get rid of her directly?!

"I... I'll figure something out..." Xing Mo sighed, "What about Angel's Tear?"

"Ah, that's not really a problem." Lucius's eyes lit up, "I made some inquiries, and there's a drop of Angel's Tear in a church of the Northern District. We just need to borrow it under the pretext of academic research."

"Church? Which church?" Xing Mo had a bad premonition.

"Saint Auroth Cathedral." Lucius replied.

Xing Mo: "..."

Instructor... what would you think if I told you that church has become the Evil God's lair?

If Aurora's previous action was an affront to Saint Auroth, then Xing Mo going to the church to take the Angel's Tear would be an affront to Aurora.

Seeing the strange expression on Xing Mo's face, Lucius quickly asked: "What's wrong?"

Xing Mo told the instructor about how Aurora stole the church, and soon there were two people sighing.

"Is this the only one...?" Xing Mo glanced at the instructor.

"If it were before, I could go to the White Tower District to search for information and see if there is any Angel's Tear in the temple underneath the White Tower." Lucius continued, "But now, if I were to go, it would inevitably attract the attention of that agent... If he knows our intentions, his actions will inevitably become more extreme."

"Let me think of a solution first... Anyway, I have to go to that church to clean on Sunday..." Xing Mo said.

"You have your work cut out for you, Mo-mo."

"By the way, I still got a clue. Aurora told me... Steam Man is not a mythical creature. I think you understand what that means." Xing Mo recalled the previous conversation.

Lucius was startled, then gently stroked his chin: "It's surprisingly not a mythical creature... but... someone who has mastered at least five string magic..."

"Please pass it on to Senior Alice." Xing Mo said, "And tell her... to be safe."

Lucius was taken aback, then smiled contentedly: "You're always so kind, Mo-mo."

He got up and clapped his hands: "Alright, Starflow Horizon is coming to an end. I can only use the Stargazing Pavilion on Wednesday. Let's meet at this time in the future and exchange information."

After he was done speaking, Lucius was about to lift the barrier, when Xing Mo quickly stood up and stopped him: "Wait a minute! Instructor, I also want to ask... um... about me becoming a girl..."

Lucius was surprised, then smiled bitterly: "I thought you didn't want to talk about it, so I didn't bring it up..."

Of course I don't want to talk about it! But if I don't, won't I have to keep being a girl?!

Xing Mo sighed: "I want to turn back. Is there a way?"

"I, for one, don't have one." Lucius spread his hands, "Changing sex may really be the domain of the Gods. You mentioned in the letter the lass's authority should be life, right?"

There is no way... Xing Mo lowered her head.

"Don't let it get to you. Isn't it fine to be a beautiful girl? You'll be more popular than before." Lucius winked.

"My wish is for people not to pay attention to me..." Xing Mo sighed.

"It's alright. My research on the string of life has begun to take shape. Maybe there will be a way to turn you back." Lucius encouraged Xing Mo.

"Sigh... only on this, I don't really trust you..." Xing Mo glanced at the instructor and went on to say, "Last time I saw you turn a frog into a tadpole, with three heads to boot. Before that, not even in my nightmares, could I have imagined a tadpole with three heads..."

"Ah... that was an accident..." Lucius smiled bitterly.

At this moment, Starflow Horizon's duration came to an end, and the gold light enveloping the Stargazing Pavilion dissipated. The evening breeze and pale blue moonlight spilled into the open pavilion.

All of a sudden, Lucius thought of something. He fished out a key from his pocket and threw it to Xing Mo: "By the way, if you need a base of operations in the Citadel, you can use Miriam's apartment."

Xing Mo caught the key and froze for a moment, and then said: "Is it really appropriate?"

"Of course it is. After all, it is you we're talking about. If she, from above the Starsea, learns about it, she will surely be pleased."

Lucius spoke calmly, but Xing Mo saw a shade of sorrow in the instructor's eyes.

"Actually, when I asked who your fiancée was, for a moment, I wanted you to say her name."

Subsequently, Lucius turned around, walked to the edge of the Stargazing Pavilion, and looked out at the starry sky.

Xing Mo stared at the instructor's back for a while, then opened the door and left.
