I’ll Take That Opportunity Chapter 47 - The Phoenix Hatches

The deeper Ye Lin ventured, the lower the temperature and the lower the visibility.

“I keep feeling like something’s watching me.”

After about ten minutes, he reached the deepest part of the valley. There, a massive stone table stood. At its center rested a wooden box, atop which a 9th layer Qi Refinement fel scorpion was coiled.

In the shadows nearby, eight more 9th layer Qi Refinement fel scorpions lurked.

“Four stingers collected. I still need six more.” Ye Lin checked his Interspatial Ring, then raised his sword.

“Life Sword!”

A blazing red arc of sword qi tore through the air, cleaving the scorpion on the table in half. The sudden commotion stirred the surrounding fel scorpions from their slumber.

Their massive bodies shifted and rose, advancing toward Ye Lin with a crushing sense of pressure.

In a flash, Ye Lin lunged forward, snatched the wooden box, and stowed it into his Interspatial Ring. With a swift roll, he repositioned himself behind the table.

“Life Sword!”

Ye Lin roared, unleashing five consecutive rays of sword qi. Boosted by his high-grade mystic-tier sword and Phoenix Fire, the rays of sword qi were unstoppable. These fel scorpions, poor at defense to begin with, stood no chance.

Under his assault, five fel scorpions were split in two. After collecting their stingers, Ye Lin activated Phantom Vanishing and bolted toward the exit of the Fel Scorpion Valley.

The disturbance had been quite loud. He could clearly sense countless auras surging toward him. If he were surrounded, and his spirit qi was exhausted, he would be doomed.

The journey out was surprisingly uneventful. Ye Lin rushed directly out of the Fel Scorpion Valley and into the dense woods ahead. Behind him, countless fel scorpions gathered, letting out helpless hisses as they watched Ye Lin flee.

They dared not leave the Fel Scorpion Valley; their continued survival was due to their unity. If they went out alone, they would surely die.

“Whew, this Fel Scorpion Valley really is dangerous. If it were nighttime, even Foundation Establishment cultivators might not make it out alive.”

Ye Lin leaned against a large tree and sighed. The moment he rushed out of the Fel Scorpion Valley, he sensed no less than twenty 9th layer Qi Refinement auras.

It was utterly ridiculous.

“Now it’s time to head to the Dominus Valley. If I remember correctly, it’s located deep within the Hundred Thousand Li Mountain Range.” He muttered to himself.

After recovering the spirit qi he had consumed, Ye Lin set out for Dominus Valley.

Dominus Valley, deep within the Hundred Thousand Li Mountain Range, was extremely treacherous. Even someone as powerful as Ye Lin had to proceed with extreme caution.

Unlike Fel Scorpion Valley, Dominus Valley was vast. Along the way, Ye Lin encountered three Foundation Establishment demon beasts, though luckily they didn’t notice him.

“The Hundred Thousand Li Mountain Range is too dangerous—I need to hurry.”

Upon arriving at Dominus Valley, Ye Lin immediately began to accelerate his pace. At this moment, explosions sounded from the distance.

This puzzled Ye Lin greatly, and he quietly moved closer. Arriving behind a rock wall, Ye Lin looked forward and saw three figures battling a Foundation Establishment demon beast.

“Heavenly Sword Sect? What are their disciples doing in the Hundred Thousand Li Mountain Range, a territory under the Azure Cloud Sect’s jurisdiction?”

Ye Lin muttered to himself as he watched the battle. The Hundred Thousand Li Mountain Range was under Azure Cloud Sect’s jurisdiction, and the Heavenly Sword Sect had no right to interfere. But now…

In the next moment, Ye Lin turned and left. The three figures were all Foundation Establishment cultivators. If he were discovered, the consequences could be dire.

Thanks to the distraction of the battle, Ye Lin made it smoothly to the depths of Dominus Valley. The demon beasts that occupied this area had been drawn away by the commotion of the battle.

At this point, Ye Lin arrived before a rock wall. He placed his hand on the wall and applied a bit of force. Instantly, the wall collapsed, revealing a hidden cultivation dwelling.

Seeing this, Ye Lin was overjoyed and immediately entered inside. In the center of the cultivation dwelling, a skeleton sat cross-legged, and next to the skeleton was a yellowish-brown pouch.

Ye Lin stepped forward, picked up the pouch, and examined it. He confirmed it was indeed a Beast Tamer Pouch. Inside was a square space, ten meters long and ten meters wide.

After putting the Beast Tamer Pouch into his Interspatial Ring, Ye Lin bowed to the skeleton before him.

"Senior, forgive my presumptuous intrusion."

With that, Ye Lin rose and rushed out.

Soon, Ye Lin safely returned to the Azure Cloud Sect, heading straight for his residence.

Upon arriving, he locked the door, then grabbed a shovel and dig up the phoenix egg.

"Little fellow, don't you dare disappoint me." Ye Lin mumbled.

He then took out the Felcloud Fruit and as spirit herb, placing the Felcloud Fruit on the phoenix egg. In the next moment, the spirit fruit was directly absorbed.

Ye Lin opened the wooden box in his hand. Inside the wooden box was a piece of wood, which, based on its aura, was extremely extraordinary.

He placed the wood on the phoenix egg, and the piece turned into powder, merging into the phoenix egg.

At this point, the breath of life within the phoenix egg had grown even more intense.

"Still not enough? It seems I'll need another mystic-tier spirit fruit or similar treasure…"

Ye Lin wiped his brow. The treasures he had fed this little thing so far were enough to make even God Core cultivator envious.

Crack.

Just as Ye Lin turned around, a faint sound reached his ears. He whipped back around and saw fiery red flames flowed along the mysterious pattern on the surface of the phoenix egg,

The cracks on the egg's surface grew more and more numerous.

Crack.

Another sound rang out, and in the next moment, the entire eggshell broke. In the center of the shell lay a chubby, fiery red chick.

"So this is a phoenix? Why does it look so much like a chicken?"

Ye Lin looked at the fiery red creature in the center of the egg with some confusion. Why was it so fat? Could there have been a mistake?

“Chirp, chirp, chirp.”

At that moment, the little phoenix in the center of the eggshell opened its eyes and flapped its wings toward Ye Lin, looking extremely excited.

In the next moment, the little phoenix opened its beak and ate up all the eggshell, then began circling around Ye Lin.

"As expected of a divine beast’s descendant. It just hatched, and it’s already at the Foundation Establishment realm."

Watching the little phoenix flapping its tiny wings around him, Ye Lin couldn’t help but sigh.

It was no wonder the divine beast clan was able to dominate in the ancient era, a time filled with powerful beings.

"Seeing how you’re so red all over, I'll call you Little Red."

Ye Lin squatted in front of the little phoenix and reached out to stroke its head. The little phoenix didn’t resist. In fact, it seemed to enjoy it quite a lot.

Deep down, it knew that this human had saved it. Divine beasts rarely acknowledged a master, for they were proud and noble by nature, born to stand above all other creatures.

But once a divine beast acknowledged a master, it was for life. If the master died in battle, the divine beast would rather die than live on without them

"Little Red, I need a drop of your blood now. Would that be okay?"

Ye Lin asked, gently stroking Little Red’s head, smiling as he spoke.

In the next instant, as if understanding him, Little Red opened its beak and spat out a drop of fiery red blood. A phoenix phantom coiled around the drop.

As soon as the blood emerged, the surrounding space began to distort.

In the next moment, Little Red collapsed to the ground, appearing extremely weak.

Ye Lin quickly placed Little Red into the Beast Tamer Pouch, then looked at the drop of blood floating in the air.

He never imagined that when he asked Little Red for a drop of blood, it would give him a drop of lifeblood instead.

The value of divine beast lifeblood was immeasurable. Little Red had just been hatched, yet it had already given him a drop of lifeblood, weakening it greatly.

This made Ye Lin both touched and distressed.

"Looks like Little Red has accepted me as its master." Ye Lin's heart swelled with joy.

A divine beast would never offer its lifeblood lightly. From the looks of it, Little Red had truly acknowledged him as its master.

And to be acknowledged by a divine beast as its master, this was something that countless people long for but could never achieve.
