The Defeated Saintess Is On A Journey To Tame The Evil God Book 01 Chapter 03.08 - Good Sunny Days

On the way back to the East Tower, Xing Mo's heart was heavy.

It felt like Instructor was upset at the very end... it's probably because of Miriam...

Xing Mo sighed. When she thought of the past, her heart sank.

Miriam was Instructor Lucius's daughter, and she was the same age as Xing Mo. She and Xing Mo maintained a very good relationship ever since their enrollment into the academy.

Apart from Senior Alice, Xing Mo's best friend in the academy was Miriam.

The two ate together, attended classes together, and did homework together. In fact, they were misunderstood as sweethearts for a long time.

There was even a time when the instructor used to say... Miriam, Molly, when you grow up, you should marry!

In fact, Xing Mo didn't dislike Miriam. But she liked her more like a friend. She hadn't developed any romantic inklings yet, so there was no reason to consider marriage...

She and Miriam were like two curled up kittens, licking each other's fur, keeping each other warm, and occasionally rubbing against each other.

Until an accident took Miriam away.

It was an alchemical accident, at least that was how it was presented to the public. In this accident, Miriam unfortunately passed away.

On that fateful day, Xing Mo saw the instructor rave and bellow like crazy for the first time, emanating dazzling starlight that tore open the Citadel's curtain of night like a sword thrust by a God from the sky dome.

Ever since Miriam left, Xing Mo had been curled up in a corner. No one had entered her life except for Senior Alice.

And now... she was going to use Miriam's apartment as her base of operations... she was going back to Miriam's residence...

Xing Mo raised her head and looked out at the night sky outside the corridor, at the stars and pale blue half moon.

Miriam, are you watching me from out there?

Xing Mo hastened her pace as she silently walked down the corridor.

Despite the moonlight shining, the night was really dark.

......

"Young Ancestor, I'm back." Xing Mo pushed open the door of the dorm room.
