Chapter 705: Killing People Openly
Hearing Little Qi’s words, the driver immediately pulled a lever by the side of the dashboard.
Screech!
The fender screeched as anti-slip chains fell from a metal box attached to it. It quickly wrapped itself around the rotating wheels of the cars and tightened itself around it.
“Lower the gears, accelerate,” Little Qi ordered.
The driver immediately did as he was told.
“Number Four, who is the center of the group?” Little Qi asked while holding onto his gun.
“The man standing at the middle of the formation, the one wearing a black jacket and checkered pants!” Number Four replied with a frown. “The baldie beside him should be the second-in-command. He has been the one giving orders all this while.”
On the slope, Baldie saw that the car was heading in his direction, and his first thought was that the other party was trying to get Old Ma back. From the Yuan Family’s point of view, the Ma Family was the main player over here whereas Qin Yu and the others were just playing supporting roles.
It was due to this mindset that as soon as the jeep charged in their direction, everyone immediately spread the formation apart.
Amidst the crowd, Yuan Hua shouted furiously, “Guard Old Ma! Don’t lose him!”
Baldie immediately dragged Old Ma over and put a gun to his temple, yelling, “Stop the car, or else I’ll fire!”
“Accelerate!” Little Qi disregarded Baldie’s threat.
“Stop the car right now, or else I’ll kill him!” Baldie howled furiously.
The jeep was truly well-geared. Even as it charged up the light slope, its speed didn’t decrease in the least. The anti-skid chain on its wheels crushed through the layers of snow, producing sparks against the rocks beneath.
Bang bang bang!
Without any orders, Yuan Hua’s men had already begun firing at the jeep, but Little Qi’s jeep had been specially reinforced with sheets of metal. The bullets left deep imprints on the jeep, but it was unable to pierce through it.
Before long, the jeep was already right before Yuan Hua and his men.
Peng peng!
The two men at the very edge of the formation cried in agony as they were knocked flying several meters away by the jeep. Seeing this, the crowd behind swiftly dispersed their formation further to avoid the jeep.
“Advance three more meters before drifting to the left,” Little Qi roared. “Number Four, cover me!”
Number Four lowered his window and slotted the barrel of his machine gun outside. Without even bothering to aim at any target, he freely fired everywhere.
The deafening sound of the machine gun made the crowd disperse further once again.
Meanwhile, as the jeep passed by Baldie without any hesitation, a streak of astonishment and terror flashed across Baldie’s face as he muttered in horror, “T-their target isn’t… going for Old Ma?!”
Huaji!
Barely after those words were said, the driver turned the steering wheel left, and the car drifted abruptly across the slope, causing the window of the passenger seat to be facing Yuan Hua.
Yuan Hua was taken aback by this situation. He backed two steps away before he yelled in realization, “They’re targeting me!”
Two of Yuan Hua’s armed subordinates hurriedly rushed over to guard Yuan Hua.
At the same time, the car window of the passenger seat lowered as Little Qi placed his gun through the window and fired.
Bang bang bang bang!
Four gunshots sounded, and the two subordinates standing right in front of Yuan Hua collapsed to the ground.
It was then that Baldie finally reacted. With a pale face, he raised his gun to shoot toward the jeep.
Peng!
But it was at this moment that the severely wounded Old Ma suddenly moved. He jabbed his elbow into Baldie’s body as he roared, “Kill him!”
Bang bang bang!
Little Qi steadied his gun and fired yet another three more rounds. He saw Yuan Hua staggering backward before clutching his chest and falling to the ground.
“Lower your head.” Number Four suddenly pressed Little Qi’s head down before shouting at the driver, “Retreat!”
In the next moment, the enemy began to fire frenziedly in the direction of the passenger seat.
“Release your hand!” Little Qi pushed aside Number Four’s arm.
He focused his center of gravity against the back of the chair while moving his gun to his left hand. Meanwhile, his right hand grabbed the clutch that controlled the positioning of his seat, and he pulled all the way down on it, causing his seat to move backward.
This series of movements ensured that only the tip of Little Qi’s head was exposed through the window
Bullets poured in through the window, causing flashes of sparks to appear within the car.
Little Qi took in a breath of air before decisively firing his gun twice.
Bang bang!
Another two more shots were fired, and Yuan Hua was struck in his thigh.
With reddened eyes, Little Qi shouted, “Stop the car once more.”
“Stop your ass!”
But this time, the driver didn’t listen to him. He turned the steering wheel leftward before pressing down on the accelerator pedal.
The car began to swiftly descend from the slope. Little Qi gnashed his teeth hatefully before he sat back upward and roared out of the car, “You fuckers, you better listen well! I am Little Qi of the Wasteland District. If Qin Yu were to die today, I’ll bring 4000 rounds with me into the city next week and slaughter that fatso in Fengbei and the bastards of the Yuan Family!”
The echoes of the shout lingered in the hill as the jeep swiftly escaped.
On the hill, Baldie tossed aside his gun and ran over to Yuan Hua, shouting, “Old Yuan! Old Yuan?!”
Blood was spurting from Yuan Hua’s chest, and his eyes were tightly shut. He didn’t even have the energy to move anymore.
“Shit!” Baldie stood up and kicked the subordinate beside Yuan Hua, howling, “You were so fucking close to them! Why did you give them the opportunity to fire?!”
The subordinate kneeled onto the ground and wailed, “T-the car was too fast! The enemy was simply too skilled. We were going to fire into the car, but his first reaction wasn’t to dodge but to adjust his car seat! We have never met such a person before…”
“Useless!” Baldie spat.
He walked over to help Yuan Hua up as he shouted, “Quick, give a call to Old Xing! We don’t have time to return to Fengbei anymore. We’ll head to the closest Garrison Troops’ hospital! Hurry up!”
The flustered Yuan Family quickly picked up their injured companions and prepared to leave the area. No one pursued Qin Yu, Little Qi, and the others anymore. They were too caught up with running back to their cars.
This included those from the Xing Family. They even forgot to interrogate the caught Old Ma where Xing Zihao was.
…
A car sped across the road as Baldie got onto a call with Fatty Xing.
“Hospital! We need to head to the hospital of the Garrison Troops right away. Old Yuan has suffered four gunshots!”
“What the hell happened? There were so many of you, and he still ended up in such a condition?!” Fatty Xing exclaimed in disbelief.
“Stop talking about useless stuff here! If Old Yuan were to die, I’ll make sure that your goods will never touch Songjiang’s soil!” Baldie shouted in agitation. “Hurry up and liaise with the nearest hospital!”
Fatty Xing was stunned for a moment. There was a moment of silence before he asked, “Where’s Zihao?”
“I didn’t see him, but we caught Old Ma,” Baldie replied deeply.
It was only after hearing those words did Fatty Xing’s complexion finally recover a little. “I’ll liaise with the hospital right away.”
The two of them ended their call then.
Soon, Fatty Xing called back, saying, “Head to the Garrison Troops’ hospital that’s in the Development District, just slightly out of Fengbei.”
“That’s just a small hospital,” a man sitting by Baldie’s side reminded.
“He should get treated as soon as possible,” Fatty Xing replied with a frown. “Yuan Hua has been shot, he won’t be able to return to Fengbei in time.”
…
On the car.
Yuan Hua slowly opened his eyes and looked at Baldie with a dazed look on his face.
“Hold on for a little bit more, we’ll be reaching the hospital soon,” Baldie consoled nervously.
Yuan Hua stiffly raised his arm slightly and touched the emergency bandaging wrapped around his chest, which had already been dyed red with his own blood, before closing his eyes once more and said, “G-give Yuan Ke a call… Tell him to hurry over…”
