Snow-Kissed Rose (GL) Chapter 82.2

Nobody was perfect. Fortunately, Song Yingshi had a good teacher and helpful friends.

After Song Yingshi was enlightened by Liu Ningxin and her fellow trainees, the fog in her mind dissipated, and the thoughts she had been deliberately ignoring became clear.

Since the decision had been made, there was no need to keep hesitating.

After finishing her meal with Liu Ningxin, Song Yingshi returned to the dormitory. Before that, she ordered two dishes and one soup for takeout for Huai Xu. Then, just as she was about to leave, she ordered a third dish for good measure…

When Song Yingshi thought about how she would bring up modifying the choreography's double-center parts again, she felt inexplicably guilty.

But what did she have to feel guilty for? She was doing it for the betterment of their performance.

She wasn't guilty. She wasn't timid.

After calming her mind, Song Yingshi returned to the dormitory. When she arrived at the shared living room, she came across Rong Yi.

"Huai Xu hasn't come out since I came back. Is she still feeling unwell? Maybe you should check her temperature again, Little Shi," Rong Yi said.

Usually, when Huai Xu was in the dormitory, she would often come out into the living room to walk around or get water. It was especially so during this hour. Rong Yi had already been lounging in the living room for quite some time, so she couldn't help but grow concerned when she didn't see Huai Xu coming out even once.

Song Yingshi also found this situation abnormal, and she couldn't help but be reminded of her morning encounter with Huai Xu. Although Huai Xu had explained that her strange behavior was due to a nightmare, Song Yingshi still wasn't fully convinced that was the case.

Nonetheless, Song Yingshi didn't let her thoughts show on her face. Calmly, she replied to Rong Yi's concern, "Probably. I'll go and check on her."

Rong Yi nodded and said, "Go quickly."

Song Yingshi chuckled and made her way to the bedroom.

In case Huai Xu was sleeping, Song Yingshi was very careful when opening the door.

After opening a wide enough gap for her to fit through, Song Yingshi slipped into the room and gently closed the door behind her. Then, she promptly turned around to look at Huai Xu's bed.

Fortunately, Song Yingshi was right to be cautious, as Huai Xu was still fast asleep. With her eyes closed and her face relaxed, the feeling of detachment Huai Xu normally exuded disappeared, leaving behind only her extraordinary beauty and a few hints of gentleness.

The room's curtains weren't drawn, but as the weather was overcast today, the light coming into the room wasn't glaring. The air coming through the window was also fresh and moist.

While staring at Huai Xu's soft appearance in this pleasant environment, Song Yingshi subconsciously relaxed her spirit.

After setting the disposable lunch boxes on the desk, Song Yingshi considered waking Huai Xu to eat. But just as she was about to turn around, Huai Xu's clear voice sounded from behind her:

"You're back."

Song Yingshi hummed in response. While splitting a pair of disposable chopsticks, she turned around and asked, "How are you feeling?"

Huai Xu sat up and pushed aside her blanket, the movement lifting her top and exposing her sleek, slender waistline. Seemingly oblivious to this, she sleepily smoothed her bangs, then casually crossed one of her legs while letting the other hang loosely down the side of the bed.

Song Yingshi was momentarily mesmerized by the uninhibited display of sexiness taking place before her. By the time she recovered, she saw that Huai Xu was looking at her in amusement…

This situation reminded Song Yingshi of her close friend's Maine Coon cat in her previous life. In addition to having the body of a beast, it had the habit of observing people's actions from the dark with its deep and mysterious feline eyes. Whenever Song Yingshi was subjected to this cat's observation, she always felt uncomfortable.

When their eyes met, before Song Yingshi could get a word out, Huai Xu said, "Much better than I thought."

Huai Xu was referring to both her illness and the merging of her 18-year-old and 28-year-old selves.

"I can resume practice in the afternoon," Huai Xu said as she stretched and smiled naturally.

When Song Yingshi heard this, she reflexively refused Huai Xu, "No, you have to rest today. You fell ill precisely because you overexerted yourself. Anyway, eat first."

While eating, Huai Xu mentioned that she wanted to resume practice again. However, Song Yingshi ruthlessly rejected her team leader's request, only allowing Huai Xu to supervise the team's vocal practice.

In short, Huai Xu was prohibited from dance practice. At most, she was allowed to move her mouth and wiggle her limbs.

Song Yingshi was very persuasive in this matter. The confidence and majesty she exuded were so overbearing that even the 28-year-old Huai Xu had to raise the white flag, not daring to disobey her.

However, the situation reversed when Huai Xu finished her meal and was about to get some water. After Song Yingshi silently muttered that she was doing it for the team's performance, she hesitantly mentioned discussing the third public performance with Huai Xu.

The reason Song Yingshi chose not to discuss this matter while Huai Xu was eating wasn't because she was timid. She was just being considerate and wanted to let Huai Xu concentrate on eating.

Subsequently, the considerate Song Yingshi maintained a five-step distance from Huai Xu as she put on a businesslike attitude and relayed Liu Ningxin's suggestion. Naturally, this included the suggestion about providing fan service.

"The others' parts don't need to be adjusted; we just need to modify ours. We might also need to alter the stage's design. Although we only have two days left, it isn't completely out of the question. If everything goes well, we should be able to finalize everything by tonight. What do you think?" Song Yingshi asked with a serious expression.

Huai Xu took a moment to ponder their available time and her body's condition. Then, she answered, "No problem."

After getting Huai Xu's approval, Song Yingshi said casually, "Then, that settles it. I still need to think over the details, so we'll discuss them later. In the meantime, you…"

Song Yingshi originally wanted Huai Xu to come up with ideas as well. However, when she met Huai Xu's meaningful gaze, she quickly corrected herself, "You don't have to."

"Don't have to…what?" Huai Xu asked.

Song Yingshi: "..."

Huai Xu crossed her legs diagonally and gave a considerate answer, "I don't have to think about how we'll interact on stage?"

"Yes…" Song Yingshi muttered stiffly.

"I should leave everything to you, is that it?" Huai Xu asked.

"...Mhm." Song Yingshi nodded.

"I'll follow your instructions," Huai Xu said, blinking her eyes nonchalantly.

After the brief exchange, the two of them fell into a tacit silence.

Song Yingshi struggled to describe the feeling of her conversation with Huai Xu. It wasn't until she had entered a semi-conscious state during her afternoon nap that she thought of a suitable metaphor:

They were each riding a small boat in circles on the sea. They were seemingly safe, yet in reality, a wave could engulf them and plunge them to the ocean depths at any moment.

They were both floating and surviving in each other's eyes.

On the White Tower's sixth floor, two beds lay side-by-side, their occupants' breaths gradually synchronizing as they experienced the same dream.

Through the open window, the dark clouds covering the sky gradually drifted apart, revealing a hazy sun. Despite its gentle appearance, it cast a blinding glare over the mortal realm.
