“So… Is that why you managed to leave?” Jiang Cheng studied Banana Wolf, who stood outside the door. His legs and stomach were still shaking.

“Let him in.” Wan Xiaoning said, “It should be true.”

Jiang Cheng opened the door wider and glanced into the corridor. He opened the door fully when he realised nothing was wrong. He ordered, “Come in.”

Banana Wolf pouted with tears in his eyes. “Can… one of you help me? I pulled a muscle in my legs. I walked here with my hands on the walls. I really can’t…” Since no one dared to move, Banana Wolf had no choice but to shuffle into the room on his own. Banana Wolf slumped down on the couch. After meeting the rest, Banana Wolf looked better. There was blood on his shoulder. It was left behind by Wen Qing. Chu Jiu ran into the dining room to grab the med kit. She came back with medicine and bandages.

“Stay still.” Chu Jiu pulled down Banana Wolf’s clothes and helped him dress his wound. Banana Wolf thanked her.

“What did you find?” Jiang Cheng didn’t waste time.

Banana Wolf calmed down after drinking the water. However, his heart was still pounding. “Many things… I found out many things. By the way.” Banana Wolf paused because he just remembered something. He huffed, “That landlord is not a good person. He has tricked many people to their deaths.” Based on how he reacted, if his legs were working, Banana Wolf would have rushed downstairs to beat him up.

“We’ve taught him a lesson for you.” Fatty patted his shoulder and comforted him, “Don’t worry. We beat him up well!”

“What’s going on with the woman in Room 808?” Jiang Cheng cut to the main topic.

At this point, Banana Wolf became more serious. He sat up. “The girl’s name was Lin Chen. Her boyfriend was Lee Maoshen! And…” Banana Wolf frowned as a chill entered his eyes. “Lee Maoshen was the secret lover who abandoned Sister Qing.”

“Him again?!”

“Yes.” Banana Wolf nodded. “Sister Qing became like this after she found out. However, I don’t think she knows anything about Lee Maoshen and Yu Youwei.” Jiang Cheng agreed with this. When he chatted with Wen Qing, Wen Qing had many good things to say about Yu Youwei. If she had known the connection between Yu Youwei and Lee Maoshen, she wouldn’t have said those things.

Banana Wolf licked his lips and added, “I was worried that Sister Qing might fight with Yu Youwei, so I didn’t tell her about Yu Youwei and Lee Maoshen.”

Fatty looked at him and added, “Brother, you’re quite smart.”

Banana Wolf chuckled sadly. If not for his wit, he would have died. “We have to help Sister Qing. She has been bullied too much.” Banana Wolf said agitatedly. “I’ve promised Sister Qing that I’d capture Lee Maoshen and punish him.”

“But Lee Maoshen is already dead.” Fatty blinked.

Wan Xiaoning seemed to understand something. She looked at Banana Wolf with her dark eyes. “Do you mean… to use ghosts against ghosts?” So far, many ghosts had appeared in this mission, but Wen Qing was the most special. She could appear during the day. Other than the inability to leave her room, she functioned like a normal person. Did this show that Wen Qing was stronger than Lee Maoshen and Yu Youwei?

Soft knocking came from the door. It was rhythmic with two short knocks and one long one. Chu Jiu raised her head. “Brother Hua Luo has returned.” That appeared to be their designated code. After opening the door, Hua Luo rushed in. His eyes shone with indecipherable panic. The room tensed.

“I got the files on the woman in Room 808,” He revealed.

“What happened to her?” He didn’t accept Chu Jiu’s water but took out his phone. He tapped on it and a file showed up. Like before, the name had been removed.

“I still can’t find the girl’s name, but this is her initial autopsy report.” Hua Luo took a deep breath. “Take a look.” Since the screen was small, everyone had to squeeze over. Chu Jiu, who was in the middle, had a pale face.

“How… is this possible?” She stammered. “The woman was already dead before she jumped out the window. And she had been dead for at least half a month!”

In the autopsy report, it stated that a stench leaked out once the woman’s chest cavity was cut open. It didn’t smell like a fresh corpse. The strange thing was that the woman had no visible wounds on the surface. Other than the injury from the fall, there was nothing. The report even said that her skin was smooth and supple. The autopsy report was made three days after the jump. It was not too quick or too slow. The police treated this as a typical case at first. However, in less than twenty-four hours after the autopsy report came out, the woman’s corpse was cremated. Everything related to this case was sealed. Even in the police’s case files, the woman’s name was blocked off.

After reading the report, the travellers understood why the case was hidden so deeply. The strangeness of it unsettled the police.

Hua Luo shook her head. “Not only that, actually the woman’s body was not cremated because… it disappeared.”

“Disappeared?”

“Yes.” Hua Luo nodded seriously. “She disappeared at the police station. After the autopsy, her body was kept at the station's morgue. The hearse would pick her up at midnight. The police would send people to escort it. However, when they entered the morgue, the body was gone.”

“Did someone steal her body?”

Hua Luo took back his phone and played a video. The video was blurry. It appeared to be taken on a rainy night. A swaying figure walked out of the street corner. They wore a giant raincoat that covered every part of their body.

“That night, the station’s morgue lost a raincoat,” Hua Luo announced.
