Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 61 - Erased Data; Where On Earth Did Older Sister Go?

The Goblin King's core resembled a flawless ruby—radiant and captivating.

Lin Moyu handed it to Ning Yiyi, “This is for you.”

“Wow, it’s so beautiful.”

From a glance, Ning Yiyi could tell this core was anything but ordinary. As it settled in her hand, a comforting warmth spread through her, dispelled the cold.

A soft breeze stirred—she activated the Detection spell.

“This is the Goblin King’s core?” Her eyes sparkled with wonder.

Lin Moyu nodded.

She held it up, turning it in her palm, admiring the gem-like glow. A trace of fondness appeared in her gaze.

“Do you know how much it’s worth?”

Lin Moyu shook his head. He wasn't sure.

He’d first learned of it from a trade office mission, offering a reward of 100,000 gold coins. Later, Wang Yi told him it was worth at least 500,000.

But Lin Moyu suspected it was worth far more—why else would the Dynasty Guild’s junior leader be so eager to claim it?

It came from a low-level dungeon, yes—but a nightmare rank one. Not just anyone could clear that.

Ning Yiyi, in high spirits, spoke with care, “This is the key material used to forge the Goblin King’s Ring—a boss rank accessory, which is worth tens of millions.”

"If traded, it should be able to fetch 10 million."

10 million... Lin Moyu was stunned. He hadn’t expected it to be so valuable.

Even Wang Yi, who’d estimated 500,000, had clearly underestimated it.

And the Dynasty Guild, trying to snatch it for 100,000 gold coins? They were far more shameless than he thought.

To an average person, 10 million was an astronomical sum.

But for Ning Yiyi? Probably not.

After all, she’d casually gifted away an Intermediate Skill Scroll worth just as much.

Clearly delighted, she accepted the Goblin King's core without hesitation, “Thank you.”

Lin Moyu smiled faintly, pleased that she had accepted the gift.

After their meal, Ning Yiyi took him on a tour of Xiajing Academy.

Within the academy, there were two trade offices: the Imperial Trade Office and the Academic Trade Office.

The Imperial Trade Office dealt in gold coins—standard currency for most transactions.

The Academic Trade Office, however, was run by Xiajing Academy itself. All trades there were conducted using points.

Some items unavailable in the Imperial Trade Office could only be obtained via the Academic Trade Office.

Beyond the trade offices, the academy housed dozens of skill grinding grounds spread throughout its grounds. These weren't free—access required spending points.

Then there was the Xiajing Library, said to rival even the Imperial Archives in scope. It contained a vast collection of books.

While many could be accessed freely, advanced materials demanded points as well.

In short, without points, life at the academy was difficult. At best, one could avoid starving—but not much more.

Thanks to Ning Yiyi’s thoughtful guidance, Lin Moyu gradually began to familiarize himself with the academy.

At the Office of Academic Affairs, Lin Moyu completed his final enrollment procedures. Most of the paperwork had already been taken care of by Bai Yiyuan. Because of that connection, the teacher assisting him was particularly polite.

While there, Lin Moyu took the opportunity to inquire about Lin Mohan.

After checking the records, he confirmed that Lin Mohan had indeed enrolled.

But to his shock—all her information had been erased.

As he stepped out of the office, a visible concern crossed his expression.

Noticing this, Ning Yiyi spoke gently, “Lin Mohan… is your relative, right?”

“She’s my older sister.” Lin Moyu replied quietly.

He couldn’t understand why her information had been wiped.

The enrollment record proved she had indeed entered Xiajing Academy.

Seeing his confusion, Ning Yiyi offered a soft explanation, “Actually… it’s not that unusual for information to be erased.”

Lin Moyu looked at Ning Yiyi, hoping for answers.

“It’s possible.” She began, “That your sister is on a special mission issued by the academy. Some of those require strict confidentiality, which means certain records might be restricted—or even erased.”

She continued thoughtfully, “It’s also possible that she has already left the academy. I don’t mean she dropped out, but rather transferred to an institute affiliated with the academy.”

“There are quite a few of those. While technically under the academy’s umbrella, they operate semi-independently. For example, the most well-known one is the Chuangshen Institute. But there’s also Shenlong Institute, Feitian Institute, and many more—over a dozen in total.”

“If a student joins one of them, their data in the academy system is often wiped for confidentiality.”

“So, there’s no need to worry.” She said with a gentle smile, “Your sister might’ve just joined one of the institutes.”

Hearing Ning Yiyi’s explanation, Lin Moyu felt a weight lift off his chest.

He still hadn't found Lin Mohan, but now that he was at Xiajing Academy, he believed he would—eventually.

He remembered the last time she'd contacted him: three months ago. Nothing since.

Maybe she really was on a mission…

“Alright, alright. No more worrying. Everything will work out.” Ning Yiyi smiled warmly, comforting Lin Moyu.

Her smile was as radiant as the sun, and it gently lifted Lin Moyu’s spirits.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” She chuckled, “Now then, let’s get down to business.”

She shifted gears smoothly, “Aside from helping you get familiar with the academy, I came to find you because of a mission.”

They spent half a day exploring, but only covered the academy’s public areas—made up less than one-tenth of the academy’s total size.

Beyond that, numerous institutes were scattered throughout the academy—accessible only to their respective members.

Qianlong Institute, in a courtyard, a small group appeared to be in the middle of a discussion.

At that moment, Ning Yiyi led Lin Moyu in.

“Yiyi’s back!”

A tall woman turned toward Ning Yiyi with a welcoming smile.

Ning Yiyi grinned, “Sister Peach [1], I brought someone.”

The woman looked Lin Moyu over, “Is this the one White God mentioned?”

“He is.” Ning Yiyi confirmed.

Without hesitation, she linked arms with the tall woman, “Lin Moyu, this year’s imperial top scorer.”

Then she turned to Lin Moyu, “This is our party leader—Sister Peach.”

The woman introduced herself with confidence, “Jiang Taotao[1]. Level 23. Spren Knight.”

“Lin Moyu.” He replied faintly, “Level 17. Necromancer.”

[1] - Jiang Taotao (蒋桃桃)—her name contains the character for “peach” (桃), giving her the nickname ‘Sister Peach.’
