Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 50 - Second Stage: Difficulty Raised

Lin Moyu was startled. His Skeletal Warriors stacked together, forming an impenetrable shield around him.

Meteor-like fireballs rained down, colliding with the Skeletal Warriors in fiery explosions that lit the battlefield in dazzling sparks.

Lin Moyu was acutely aware of his own weakness—his physique attribute was too low. If he faced these attacks head-on, a catastrophic amount of damage would be transferred to the skeletons.

However, the Skeletal Warriors, with their formidable physique, could shrug off such assaults with ease.

From behind their protective wall, Lin Moyu spotted groups of Ferryn Beastmen appear. Ferryn Beastman Mages waved their staves and unleashed Rain of Fire. Meanwhile, a large number of Ferryn Beastman Warriors charged forward, their weapons at the ready.

The monsters had appeared suddenly, but Lin Moyu's lips curled into a confident smirk.

How they appeared was irrelevant. What mattered was that he didn’t have to wait for them to spawn.

The Ferryn Beastman Mages continued their relentless assault, filling the air with flames.

To ensure his safety, Lin Moyu commanded 10 skeletons to shield him from the magical barrage. Simultaneously, another 10 skeletons charged forward to meet the oncoming the Ferryn Beastman Warriors.

“Use your skill!” Lin Moyu’s voice rang out.

At his command, the Skeletal Warriors' blades ignited with a crimson glow.

Skill: Berserk Strike!

With the strength attribute of 5,000, plus with the skill’s effect that doubled the attack power, the Skeletal Warriors slashed through the Ferryn Beastman Warriors as though they were made of paper.

Lin Moyu’s palm glowed, and a low rumbling filled the air as he activated his skill.

One by one, corpses detonated in rapid succession, devastating the battlefield. In mere seconds, over 100 Ferryn Beastman Warriors fell like wheat before a reaper’s scythe.

Wasting no time, the 10 Skeletal Warriors turned their sights on the Ferryn Beastman Mages.

With an agility attribute of 5,000, the Skeletal Warriors moved with astonishing speed. The massive disparity in attributes made them appear as streaking afterimages to Lin Moyu’s eyes.

In the blink of an eye, they crossed tens of meters and appeared in on the Ferryn Beastman Mages. Their blades rose and fell with lethal force, claiming the life of a Mage-type monster with each strike.

The Ferryn Beastman Mages, lacking the Ferryn Beastman Warriors’ physical resilience, stood no chance. One by one, they fell, their lives snuffed out with one strike of the blade.

With their demise, the Rain of Fire vanished, and an eerie calm returned to the battlefield.

Back in the control room of the Tower of Trial, the examiners stared at the screen, their expressions a mix of astonishment and disbelief. After just a dozen or so seconds of respite, Lin Moyu's points soared once more, skyrocketing by 6,000 points to a total of 14,605.

This surge in points could mean only one thing: Lin Moyu had annihilated another 120 monsters.

“This guy has a group skill.”

“This class is ridiculous. Its single-target skill is already overpowered, and now it has an equally devastating group skill.”

“Not just the skills—the summons are absurdly strong, too.”

“I think this class might even surpass the legendary rank. It could rival the most elite classes.”

“Maybe, but it’s too soon to say. His level is still low. It still remains to be seen.”

Being strong at a lower level didn’t necessarily mean you would remain strong as your level increased. Conversely, being weak at a lower level didn’t mean you would stay weak as you grew.

Some classes remained unremarkable until they acquired a specific skill—one that transformed them into a force to be reckoned with.

There was even a class that was usually considered not very useful. But in the context of war, it became overwhelmingly powerful. Its skills were entirely legion-based, designed for large-scale combat.

When such a class user joined an army, the combat power of the entire force could double instantly.

Lin Moyu, of course, was unaware of their discussions.

At that moment, a deep rumble echoed through the battlefield. The ground began to quake, and the corpses of fallen monsters disappeared as if swallowed by the earth itself.

Invisible fumes rose from the earth, filling the air with the stench of blood, laced with a faint hint of decay. The smell was nauseating.

Overhead, the sky grew even darker, and the air turned oppressively heavy, making it hard to breathe.

"The second stage." Lin Moyu muttered, his gaze fixed on the darkening sky.

He appeared fully accustomed to the oppressive atmosphere, showing no signs of discomfort. Perhaps it was due to his class.

The aura of death that hung in the air didn’t bother him—it felt almost natural. The only thing that drew his irritation was the increasingly foul smell.

As the tremors beneath his feet subsided, Lin Moyu instructed his Skeletal Warriors to form a protective perimeter around him, their vigilance unwavering.

A few seconds later, faint footsteps echoed in the distance.

“Here we go.” Lin Moyu thought, his gaze sharpening.

Suddenly, teams of monsters emerged from the surrounding darkness.

[Ferryn Beastman Champion]

[Level: 16]

[Ferryn Beastman Archer]

[Level: 16]

Each team consisted of three Champions and two Archers, and there were at least 40 teams scattered around. Lin Moyu appeared to be surrounded.

In this second stage, the monsters had not only gained a level, but their numbers had doubled. Yet, Lin Moyu remained calm.

“Level 16 monsters.” He mused, “Hardly worth worrying about.”

Even without resorting to Corpse Explosion, his 20 Skeletal Warriors could methodically cut through these creatures. It would take time, but the outcome was certain.

“Based on this level of difficulty, other class users are going to struggle to pass the second stage.” He thought to himself, “Even if they manage, it will take considerable effort and time.”

To Lin Moyu, the difficulty of the first stage was low. With some effort, most class users could push through it. The second stage, however, was a stark escalation. The combination of increased levels and doubled numbers was enough to make the challenge several times harder.

Then there was the addition of Archers—an element that made things more intriguing. Known as natural counters to Mages, Archers added a layer of danger that would push most Mage-type class users to their limits.
