Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 13 - Shenxia Empire's Trading Office

"Xue!"

Xia Xue snapped back to reality at the sound of Xia Dongyang's voice.

“Dad, what are you doing here?” She asked sweetly, walking over to him. Gone was her usual arrogance.

Xia Dongyang's eyes softened as he gazed at his daughter. “Let’s go home.”

He had driven here himself, so they wouldn’t need to take the school bus. As they got into the car, Xia Xue couldn't help but glance repeatedly at Lin Moyu. She would really like to learn how he had reached level 7.

Noticing the look in her eyes, Xia Dongyang asked, “Are you competing with Lin Moyu?”

Xia Xue deflated, her confidence waning, “Yes, and I lost again. That guy is so infuriating.”

Xia Dongyang chuckled, “Do you want me to intervene and deal…”

“No!” Xia Xue interrupted him sharply, “This is my problem, and I’ll deal with it myself. I won’t keep losing to that idiot.”

Xia Xue snorted, her eyes blazing with determination, causing Xia Dongyang to smile even more, “Alright, I won’t interfere. But just so you know, Lin Moyu was out of the dungeon after 10 hours. He killed all the level 8 monsters.”

Xia Xue was stunned once again... all the level 8 monsters?

She had only managed to reach the area with level 7 monsters and hadn’t even seen the level 8 ones. She had been proud of her achievement, fighting level 7 monsters at level 5, but Lin Moyu had taken it to another level. He had finished two hours early and wiped out all the level 8 monsters. If there had been more, he might have reached level 8 by now.

“Is the gap between us really that big?” Xia Xue felt disheartened, though she wouldn’t admit defeat.

“Each class has its own strengths.” Xia Dongyang said, “Some shine early on, while others gain power later. Right now, victory or defeat doesn’t matter. You have an advantage over him.”

Xia Xue understood her father’s meaning. Her family’s wealth and resources gave her a significant edge—she lacked nothing in terms of items, equipment, or skills. Lin Moyu, on the other hand, would have to struggle to obtain what he needed.

“Even if you’re ahead now, I won’t stay behind forever.” Xia Xue vowed, her fighting spirit reigniting after only a brief moment of doubt.

Xia Dongyang smiled, pleased to see his daughter’s resolve return.

On the school bus, Gao Yang plopped down beside Lin Moyu, “I’m level 4 now. Not bad, right? It’s way more fun hunting monsters with a girl than going solo like you.”

Lin Moyu glanced at him, wondering if Gao Yang was ever not cheerful.

“Wait a minute! I didn’t notice before, but you’re already level 7! How did you do it? Did you clear the entire dungeon?” Gao Yang's voice rose with excitement, loud enough for everyone on the bus to hear. "I struggled just to reach level 4. How did you get to level 7? Are you some kind of celestial being?"

Heads turned, and suddenly everyone realized Lin Moyu was level 7. Most of them were around level 3, with level 4 being impressive. Yet, here was Lin Moyu at level 7.

The bus buzzed with chatter. Though many were still wary of Lin Moyu and his Skeletal Warriors, but the allure of befriending someone strong was undeniable. Some wanted to approach him but hesitated, intimidated by his silent demeanor and the presence of his skeleton minions.

“Quiet!” Lu Yun's stern voice cut through the noise, and the bus quickly quieted down.

Gao Yang scratched his head sheepishly, “I got carried away. Boss, can you take me leveling sometime?”

“If there’s a chance.” Lin Moyu replied.

Gao Yang grinned, “Deal!”

The next morning, Gao Yang waited at the school gate, but Lin Moyu was nowhere to be seen.

“Teacher Lu, where’s Lin Moyu?” He asked.

“He went to the outskirts of Xihai City.” Lu Yun replied.

“Ah?” Gao Yang finally realized he had been tricked. No wonder Lin Moyu had agreed so easily the day before. “Lin Moyu, you deceived me! Just you wait, I’m not done with you! I’ll fight you!”

Meanwhile, Lin Moyu had already arrived at the southern gate of Xihai City. The tall city wall separated the human living space from the monster zones. Beyond the wall, the weakest monsters were level 10, far stronger than those in the novice dungeon. However, defeating them yielded more EXP and various materials. Some even dropped valuable equipment, which could be used or sold.

Shops lined both sides of the street leading to the city gate—blacksmith shop, weapon store, jeweler, armor store, and more. The most important was the Shenxia Empire's trade office, an official governmental establishment with branches across the empire. Here, people could buy and sell equipment, materials, and other items, or take on missions.

This was Lin Moyu’s first visit to a trade office. Inside, over 100 stone pillars, each half the height of a person, stood in rows. Embedded in each pillar was a Magic Crystal, the key to accessing the office’s services, a pinnacle of alchemy.

Lin Moyu approached an empty pillar and placed his hand on the Magic Crystal.
