Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 14 - Insed And Outrside The City Are Two Different Worlds

The Shenxia Empire's trade office was exclusively open to its citizens. While Lin Moyu had access, his authority was minimal—only level 1. To gain greater access, he would need to increase his contribution points, but that was a concern for another day.

Glancing over the items in the trade office, he saw a wide array of weapons, armor, accessories, and materials—everything one might need. However, the prices were steep. With just 100 gold coins, Lin Moyu couldn't even afford the cheapest iron rank weapons, let alone the pricier bronze or silver rank weapons.

After memorizing the prices of some low-rank materials, Lin Moyu turned his attention to the missions. In the outskirts of Xihai City, monsters ranged from level 10 to level 20, making it a low-level area. Consequently, the available missions were few and mainly focused on material collection.

[Collect Green Shoot Grass; price 50 gold coins per unit (unlimited).]

[Collect Black Wolf fur; price 20 gold coins per unit (unlimited).]

[Collect beast bones; 30 gold coins per unit (unlimited).]

Alchemists, Concocters, Blacksmiths, and other livelihood class users required a large amount of materials to grind their skills. By crafting these materials into useful items, they could sell them for profit, gradually leveling up in the process. This created a virtuous cycle, offering livelihood class users promising development prospects.

"Hmm, this mission... is a bit interesting..." One mission caught Lin Moyu's eye.

[Raid the level 14 Xihai Mine Dungeon and retrieve the Goblin King's core.]

[Note: only the nightmare rank dungeon boss will drop the Goblin King's core.]

The reward for the mission was 100,000 gold coins.

The substantial reward indicated the mission's difficulty. The Xihai Mine, located 50 kilometers south of Xihai City, had a minimum entry requirement of level 10. Unfortunately, Lin Moyu's current level was still too low.

Dungeons varied in difficulty—ordinary, nightmare, hell. While he had read that nightmare difficulty was several times harder than ordinary difficulty, he wasn't certain just how challenging it would be. Without a strong party, tackling such a dungeon would be nearly impossible. Hell difficulty, on the other hand, was reserved for the truly elite.

Leaving the trade office, Lin Moyu headed to the city gate.

"Lin Moyu, level 7, Necromancer?" The guard at the gate inspected his city-leaving certificate, surprised that someone of such a low level was allowed to venture outside. After all, the monsters beyond the city walls started at level 10—a three-level difference that posed significant danger. Nevertheless, the certificate was authentic, and the guard quickly concluded the inspection.

"Your certificate has been activated. Barring special circumstances, you're now free to enter and exit any city within the Shenxia Empire. Monsters are everywhere outside, so stay alert and be cautious at all times. If you encounter danger, don't hesitate to return immediately. Saving your life is more important than saving face. Be especially careful at night; some monsters prefer to attack under cover of darkness." The guard kindly instructed.

Lin Moyu bowed. "Thank you. I'll be careful."

As he stepped beyond the city gate, a cold wind hit him, and the sky darkened. The air became heavy with an oppressive feeling. Inside and outside the city truly felt like two different worlds.

"This city wall is no ordinary barrier." Lin Moyu thought as he moved forward, soon vanishing into the wilderness.

The tension in the air thickened, heavy with a palpable sense of bloodlust. Distant roars of beasts echoed intermittently, and from time to time, Lin Moyu caught glimpses of others engaged in battles with monsters, all of them at least level 10. The city wall had long disappeared from view, and a thin mist now veiled his surroundings.

With a thought, Lin Moyu summoned a Skeletal Warrior from the summon space. He had 28 in total, having added four more after meditating to restore his spirit force the previous night.

Spotting a monster 20 meters away, Lin Moyu commanded, "Kill that monster."

The Skeletal Warrior immediately rushed out, its bones clicking as it moved. At the same time, Lin Moyu activated the Detection spell.

[Goblin Patrol]

[Level: 10]

[Strength: 120]

[Agility: 50]

[Spirit: 50]

[Physique: 120]

[Skills: None]

The level 10 Goblin Patrol, with its ferocious appearance and wolf tooth club, was primarily strength-based, with low agility and spirit. Its high physique indicated its tough skin and sturdy build. But compared to the Skeletal Warrior, whose attributes were all at 750 points, the creature was outmatched.

Goblins dominated this area, their territory stretching all the way to the Xihai Mine. The Skeletal Warrior reached the Goblin in an instant. The Goblin swung its wolf tooth club, but the Skeletal Warrior didn’t dodge, taking the hit. Though the blow was strong enough to make the Skeletal Warrior stagger, it remained unfazed. Raising its shabby blade, the Skeletal Warrior struck down.
