Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 12 - Breaking the Novice Dungeon's Record

Lu Yun stood frozen, disbelief etched on his face, "You... reached level 7?"

His voice carried the same shock that paralyzed his thoughts. He questioned his own eyes, struggling to comprehend what he saw. Just moments ago, the highest record in the novice dungeon was level 5. Yet, Lin Moyu had emerged at level 7, after only 10 hours…

"There weren’t enough monsters in the dungeon. Otherwise, I would’ve reached level 8. Teacher Lu, I would like to apply to go to the outskirts of Xihai City."

Lin Moyu’s matter-of-fact tone as he requested permission to leave the city left no room for doubt.

No one ever imagined that all the monsters in the dungeon could be wiped out in a single run. Normally, monsters reset with each entry, and no one had ever cleared the dungeon within 12 hours. After all, only novices with limited skills and weak combat abilities accessed it, not to mention that the level 8 monsters deep within were as formidable as their counterparts in the wilderness. But Lin Moyu defied expectations, shattering the norm and setting a new record.

Lu Yun, still reeling from the shock, struggled to grasp what had happened.

"Teacher Lu?" Lin Moyu called again, waving his hand in front of Lu Yun when he didn't respond.

Finally, Lu Yun snapped back to reality, "Alright, alright, I approve. I'll issue you a city-leaving certificate. Take a break first. Once all the students are out, I'll take you back."

Lin Moyu had proven his strength through his actions and earned the city-leaving certificate, allowing his plans to proceed smoothly.

As Lu Yun returned to the table, the other principals looked at him curiously.

"What happened just now, Old Lu?"

"Why did that student come out early? Was there an accident?"

"He wasn't injured, was he? Why did he come out alone? Where are his teammates?"

After downing three cups of tea and taking a couple of deep breaths, Lu Yun finally responded, "That was Lin Moyu. He cleared the novice dungeon and defeated all the level 8 monsters."

Everyone collectively gasped. Even Xia Dongyang, usually unflappable, showed visible astonishment. They noted that Lin Moyu had already reached level 7—a feat unheard of, especially in just 10 hours. His leveling speed was astounding, and the fact that he had defeated all the level 8 monsters in the dungeon made his combat prowess undeniable.

"This hidden class is something else." Xia Dongyang sighed.

The only logical explanation was that Lin Moyu’s class was extraordinarily powerful.

"As things stand, the Necromancer class seems to have surpassed the known superior classes and might even be on par with legendary classes."

"I'm not sure how powerful legendary classes are, since we've never seen one before. But we have seen superior classes, and they don't match this level of efficiency."

"I just wonder if it will remain as powerful at higher levels."

"Exactly. Take Xia Xue's Elemental Mage class as an example. In the early stages, it doesn't differ much from other Mage-type classes. However, if it gains the passive skill Elemental Enhancement, it could be comparable to a legendary class."

The principals, experienced as they were, understood that class performance could vary greatly over time. Some classes started strong and fizzled out, while others grew increasingly formidable. Skills and talents could also create vast differences within the same class. It wasn't easy to make a judgement.

Lu Yun glanced at Lin Moyu, meditating nearby, with a mixture of awe and anticipation.

"For now, it’s clear that his Necromancer class is powerful. Whether it remains so is none of our concern."

"That's true. If he's admitted to Xiajing Academy, it will be their concern."

Xia Dongyang added, "Xue has always been competitive. I'm afraid she might face a setback this time."

Lu Yun chuckled, "This isn't the first time. You might not know, being away so often, but Xia Xue has been second to Lin Moyu in grades for three years straight."

"Is that so..." Xia Dongyang smiled bitterly. Xia Xue had never mentioned this. He understood his daughter's temperament well. The more she refused to speak, the greater the anger she was suppressing.

Meanwhile, Lin Moyu focused on restoring his spirit force through meditation. He had already summoned 24 Skeletal Warriors, but his summon space could accommodate 70. Filling the remaining slots would take time.

As the clock struck 9:00 PM, the dungeon period ended, and students were teleported out one by one. Exhausted yet exhilarated from 12 hours of combat, they bore expressions of both fatigue and triumph. The experience of actual combat was irreplaceable. Many students were stained with blood, the scent lingering until a teacher dispelled it with a skill.

The teachers quickly gathered their students, checking for injuries and ensuring everyone was accounted for. Most students had reached level 3, with a few advancing to level 4.

Xia Xue was also thrilled. After fighting all day, she had reached level 5, matching the previous record for the novice dungeon.

"I won't lose this time. I've matched the record. Where is that guy?"

After coming out of the dungeon, Xia Xue couldn’t find Lin Moyu. She scanned the area with her beautiful eyes and spotted him meditating in the distance.

"When did he come out?"

Her eyes widened in shock, and she froze as if stunned by electricity, her whole body feeling numb.

"How is this possible? How did he reach level 7?"
