TOOLATE - Book 02 Chapter 016: Seeing Reason and Touching Emotions

“We…we lost…. Sob! Sob!”

“You…you are quite capable. We’ll…we’ll let you let off for today.”

Unexpectedly, the two had the potential for comical dialogue. Even after losing so thoroughly, they still stubbornly talked back.

Although Chen Heng easily defeated these two Servants, it did not mean they were weak. Rather, the gap between their strengths was just too wide; the advantage from using an A-ranked Dragonslayer, too overwhelming. Fujimaru Ritsuka did not give up on adding these two to their combat forces, so she came over and consoled them. “Alright, alright. We aren’t bad people. We are just looking for Masterless Servants to fight the Dragon Witch Jeanne d’Arc Alter. Didn’t Elizabeth say she wanted to deal with Carmilla? In a way, we are natural allies.”

“That’s right. That is the reason. I did not use my full power only because I saw that you were allies.”

“Me too.”

“…” Fujimaru Ritsuka suddenly felt that her consolation might not have helped.

In the end, Elizabeth and Kiyohime chose to join the team to fight the Dragon Witch, Jeanne d’Arc Alter, after Chen Heng made them see reason and touched their emotions.

By the time the group dealt with everything, it was already four in the afternoon. This time was not suitable for a decisive battle. Furthermore, they had traveled the entire day, and the Servants were not in their best state. It would be better if they rested for the night.

Eventually, Chen Heng and the others chose a forest near Thiers with a ley line as the base for their final night. The decisive battle would take place the next day. Whether they lost or won, this would be the last night.

After choosing the base’s location, they took out all the items needed for camping. The Servants pitched the tents while Chen Heng headed to Jura alone.

While traveling during the day, Chen Heng and the others had come across a group of French soldiers fighting wyverns. He had lent them a hand, killing all the wyverns.
