After leaving the hospital, Sheng Xian went to the supermarket.

He shopped with a plan, buying only the same few items, rounding up at the cashier very quickly.

There was a row of shops opposite the supermarket, and one of them sold plants. The shop had a whimsical design, there was a row of bonsai, some of them water bonsai that housed little fishes.

“Hello.”

The cashier’s sudden greeting broke his thoughts.

He retracted his gaze emotionlessly and placed the items in his trolley onto the counter.

Once he was done paying, Sheng Xian carried his groceries towards the lift but after taking a few steps, he turned back.

Ten minutes later.

Sheng Xian looked at the well protected water bonsai on his passenger seat and felt an impending headache.

What was he doing?

How could he have bought that water bonsai?

The supermarket was a five minutes drive from Sheng Xian’s neighborhood. The neighborhood security guard recognized Sheng Xian’s car, and greeted him warmly when he drove through, “Mr Sheng.”

As usual, Sheng Xian nodded slightly in acknowledgement. Before he entered the parking garage, he suddenly slammed into the brakes and rolled his car window down, and passed the water bonsai to the security guard.

Back home, Sheng Xian unpacked the groceries, placing the fresh food in the fridge. As for the other home essentials, he left it in the bag and casually tossed it aside.

He walked out of the kitchen, glanced at the water basin on the kitchen table, and felt his head hurt.

He walked over and peeled off the protective layer.

The fishes inside were as small as ants, they swam around happily, forming tiny ripples.

Less than five minutes after he gave the security guard the water bonsai, he parked his car at the side, walked over to the security guard office and knocked on the door. In the face of an enthusiastic greeting, he reached his hand out coldly to take the water bonsai. It was an even bigger cause for a headache.
