I'll Still Love You Tomorrow Chapter 13: Do You Have a Death's Wish?

Lu Jingyan wanted to have lunch with him and she couldn't seem to stop herself.

Initially, it was just a fleeting thought but somehow, the thought intensified, engulfing her entire brain.

She had to take the initiative to get the guy but being too proactive might not be a good thing.

She shouldn’t rush over to him all the time.

It was a downgrade!

She shouldn’t be treating him so seriously, she should be treating him like the other scums from before, sending them one or two texts when she was bored and forgetting about him when she was busy.

Lu Jingyan told herself not to pamper him so much but she couldn’t help herself, she wanted to see him.

She was at a loss.

In the end, she gave in to her impulses.

His good looks were to blame.

He remembered her birthday and had even set it as his hotspot password. He must definitely have a crush on her.

Since having a crush on someone was difficult, she had to reward him a little.

Yesterday, he cheered her up when she was down so today, she had to return the favor by making him happy.

She was a kind and pretty young lady that knew how to repay a favor.

Lu Jingyan complimented herself shamelessly and skipped work.

Lu Jingyan went to claim her car first. After leaving it at the dinner place’s carpark for an entire night, the parking fee added up to 180 dollars.

Lu Jingyan couldn’t help lamenting when she made the payment.

What a waste of money.

Sheng Xian was teaching in Lu Jingyan’s alma mater.

It wasn’t much different from when she attended. Even though it has been years since she last walked through the school gates, she still managed to find Sheng Xian’s classroom easily.

Class had just ended and many students were on their way out. Lu Jingyan walked against the crowd towards the classrooms, she walked a long distance before spotting Sheng Xian walk out from the classroom.

She sped up and chased after him. Just then, he received a call, Sheng Xian passed his laptop and books over to his assistant and turned a corner in the building at the front.

Lu Jingyan followed behind him and realized Sheng Xian was headed to the carpark.

There were many cars but no one in sight.

The moment he entered the car park, a car door opened and Bo Mu walked out.

The two of them didn’t go far, headed towards an empty corner beside the car park.

Lu Jingyan didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but she was in a good position behind a pillar.

Bo Mu went straight to the point, “Why did you pass my contract to another lawyer?”

Sheng Xian replied, “Lawyer Chen is very experienced in this area, he has worked on many similar contracts. He is the best and would be a better fit than me.”

“Is that the only reason?” Bo Mu didn’t believe his explanation.

Sheng Xian didn’t intend to answer her.

Bo Mu was silent for a moment before she continued, “I saw you send her back yesterday.”

“If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.” Sheng Xian left decisively, probably unwilling to discuss his private affairs.

Bo Mu called out to him anxiously, “I know her very well, she wouldn’t like you, she would just treat you like an object, something she can buy from the shopping mall. Once she sets her sights on something, she would go all out to get it and once she has it, it would be worthless to her.

Sheng Xian paused.

“In her eyes, you aren’t any different from the other men she dated, you’re just a toy.”

Sheng Xian paused slightly and left.

Lu Jingyan waited for him to leave the car park before she appeared from the pillar.

She didn’t make any noise, leaning against the pillar lazily, reaching for a cigarette from her bag.

Bo Mu turned towards her car, she froze when she saw Lu Jingyan.

Lu Jingyan bit down on the cigarette, lighting it calmly.

She took a puff slowly, glanced up at the complex expression on Bo Mu’s face, and chuckled, “After all these years, I guess you still like to talk behind people’s back.”

Bo Mu pressed her lips together, her expression stiff.

Lu Jingyan held the cigarette by her ear with two fingers, blowing smoke out casually, “When will you stop being hypocritical? You should be scolding people to their face, just like how I want to scold you right now…”

Lu Jingyan cursed her arrogantly, “Hooker, hypocritical, gossiper, shameless.”

Bo Mu’s face darkened.

Lu Jingyan tapped her cigarette, “You like him?”

Caught red handed, Bo Mu’s gaze froze.

Lu Jingyan extinguished her cigarette, “Stop liking him from now onwards, he is mine.”

Bo Mu, “He is yours just because he caught your eye?”

Lu Jingyan nodded, “Mmh, right. He is mine because he caught my eye.”

“Mine. Do you know what that means? Don’t snatch and don’t touch. Understand?”

Lu Jingyan leaned on the pillar lazily, eyeing her up and down. “It’s for your own good since you wouldn’t be able to snatch him over.”

“He didn’t just send me home yesterday, I still mwah-ed him and sent him a small heart. He had even sent me a WeChat at 3am in the morning.”

“……”

Bo Mu looked at the contemptuous Lu Jingyan, and clenched her fist: "Lu Jingyan, stop trying to show off, do you really think you are that good? The only thing those men are interested in is your face and your background.”

“Do you really think anyone genuinely likes you?”

“You probably forgot that no one liked you in university.”

“Everyone hated you, they weren’t willing to be your friend and didn’t bother talking to you even if you tried to treat them well.”

“It wasn’t just everyone, there was also your father, mother and uncle. None of them like you, and that includes Sheng Xian, he wouldn’t…”

Lu Jingyan’s face turned cold, before Bo Mu could finish her sentence, she had yanked her hair down, forcing her face to turn upwards, “Do you have a death’s wish?”
