I'll Still Love You Tomorrow Chapter 12: Lian Qiao Xie Poison Pill

Lu Jingyan fell into deep sleep, she didn’t have any more dreams and would probably have slept till noon if it wasn’t for her alarm.

She lay in the bed and sulked for no reason, rubbed her eyes and slowly made her way up.

As she turned to stand, there was a thud sound.

Her phone fell onto the floor.

She paused for a while, remembering she had hugged her phone to her chest when she slept.

The phone wasn’t damaged as there was a thick layer of carpet covering the floor.

Lu Jingyan picked it up, tossed it onto the bed, and walked into the bathroom with a yawn. After her shower, she casually picked out a set of clothes and headed downstairs.

Auntie Sun already prepared breakfast, when she saw Lu Jingyan coming down, she hurriedly brought it to the table.

Today’s breakfast was surprisingly sumptuous, there was small grain porridge with salted vegetables, dough fritters with soybean milk, bacon sandwich and a fruit platter.

Lu Jingyan stirred the freshly made soy milk.

Just as she was about to ask the reason behind the huge meal, Lu Jingyan heard footsteps. She turned and saw Lu Hongcheng, who was rarely home.

That explains the reason behind the huge meal. The owner of the house is home.

Lu Jingyan called out, “Uncle.”

“Mmh.” He replied, sitting on the main seat, “You came back late last night?”

Lu Jingyan, “Mmh.”

Lu Hongcheng frowned, showing obvious displeasure towards her lifestyle, “The guy I want to introduce you is coming back next month, cut off all your other messy ties before meeting him.”

“Another thing, my current business partner’s daughter wants to be a singer, find a good time to push her into the top search.”

Lu Jingyan held the ladle for a moment, and replied softly, “Mmh.”

She only drank a small bit of the soy milk, and barely touched her sandwich.

She didn’t have much appetite.

Lu Jingyan forced down the food in her mouth. Since Lu Hongcheng was done instructing her, she pulled out a napkin, wiped her mouth, greeted him and went upstairs.

She did her makeup in record time, and left the house.

When she reached the basement, she remembered she had left her car in the basement of yesterday’s dinner place in order to hitch a ride from Sheng Xian.

There was a row of cars in the basement but she didn’t want to head back for the car keys so she headed out to hail a cab.

Lu Jingyan’s assistant is a slightly plump female that just graduated from her masters degree. She had been working for Lu Jingyan since her third year in university.

Her assistant found out she was pregnant last month, and had tendered her resignation at the start of the month in order to rest and prepare for her pregnancy.

While her assistant was listing out her tasks, Lu Jingyan was thinking about the interview for the new assistant. She was in a bad mood after meeting Lu Hongcheng and now, it was worse.

But she couldn’t just unleash her negativity on someone else. Lu Jingyan suppressed her frustration, and scrolled through her phone as she listened to her assistant.

The moment she entered WeChat, she saw Sheng Xian’s profile picture.

Aside from his outstanding good looks, she realized he had the ability to calm her down.

Even though they didn’t talk much, just looking at his profile picture made her breathing smoother.

Tsk, this scum who used her birthday as his hotspot password, and messed with her but didn’t take responsibility seemed to have the ability to fight her demons.

Her hands moved faster than her brain, and the words were sent out before she could think through it, “Good morning, you seem to have the ability to fight my demons.”

When she regained her senses and wanted to delete the text, she saw the words appearing on the screen, “Sheng Xian is typing….”

She waited and waited until the status disappeared, but there still wasn’t any text.

He must have decided to ignore her.

“Pretentious.” She couldn’t help muttering.

“Pretending to be demure.”

“Pretending to be dignified.”

Her assistant was done reporting and saw that she was muttering, “Boss Lu, what did you say?”

Lu Jingyan shook her head, “Nothing.”

Just as her assistant was about to leave, Lu Jingyan called out to her, “Oh right,” She tore a piece of paper and wrote Sheg Xian’s name and address, “Help me get his timetable, the faster the better.”

After her assistant was out, Lu Jingyan tapped the table, remembering an old cliche plot.

When a domineering CEO has his eyes on a woman, he would usually say, “Three minutes, I want to know everything about her.”

She was also a CEO and she didn’t require all his details. She only wanted his timetable, so why was it taking more than three minutes?

Just as she was questioning her abilities as a boss, her assistant sent the timetable over through WeChat.

She secured his timetable!

Lu Jingyan glanced at the date on her phone. Coincidentally, Prof Sheng had a class this afternoon.
