At 7 in the evening, there was a faint glow in the unlit room.

The phone placed on the bedside table kept flashing and vibrating.

Lu Jingyan only roused from her sleep after the phone had been ringing for a long while. She reached for the phone, glanced at the screen and locked it.

Soon, there was another call, and this time, she switched her phone off without even looking at the screen.

The room fell back into silence. Lu Jingyan stretched comfortably and continued to sleep.

Before she could fall into a deep sleep, there was a knock on her bedroom door. Auntie Sun, who had been working for the Lu family for many years, pushed the door open, “Miss Lu, a man named Chen Kai called many times to remind you about tonight’s appointment."

Lu Jingyan’s eyes remined shut as she muttered, “Mmh”

Half an hour later, Auntie Sun came upstairs again because of the same man named Chen Kai.

She came upstairs repeatedly 4-5 times. It was 9.30 in the evening when Lu Jingyan finally woke up, sitting on her bed lazily.

The appointment was at 9 but she only arrived at 12.

The bar was booming at midnight, Lu Jingyan pushed the door open with ease, and was greeted by the deafening tunes and colorful spotlights.

In the dance floor directly in front of her, there was a group of exquisitely dressed women and men dancing feverishly.

Lu Jingyan paled in comparison, her hair was combed simply, and she didn’t wear any accessories on her neck and wrists.

But even so, she still managed to become the center of attention.

She was tall enough, had a good enough figure and most importantly, she was pretty enough.

She was a natural spotlight presence.

Accustomed to stares, she walked breezily towards the most luxurious table.

Chen Kai and the others had noticed her before she was even close.
