“Stop fucking shouting!!”

Even as they tried to get away, the intense chanting of the Deep Ones still echoed in their heads. It felt like these weird chants were calling some scary monsters and driving them crazy. It was as if this eerie sound was following them wherever they ran, making them super angry.

But even though they were mad, they kept running. Nobody dared to look behind them.

Even without looking, they knew that a really creepy monster called the Shoggoth was chasing them because every now and then, they'd hear its super weird laugh from behind.

While they were running away, some older experts got too tired and became food for the Shoggoth. But right now, nobody could feel sad for them because everyone else was still in danger.

Only the well-trained soldiers and some young scholars were able to keep running. The soldiers didn't fight the monster because regular weapons didn't work on it. Just being brave wasn't enough to beat the monster.

Being brave is great and all, but when you're up against something way stronger, bravery doesn't help much.

Gui Bin was lucky he was young and had been working out because otherwise, he would have fallen behind during this tough run.

"If I make it out of this alive," he thought, "I'm definitely going to start exercising."

He set up a flag in his mind.

“There is an exit in front. It’s the exit of the spaceship!”

As Gui Bin teetered on the brink of exhaustion, the hoarse shout of the major up ahead pierced the air, injecting a surge of energy into everyone. It pushed them beyond their human limits, and it was this breakthrough that the fear of death had triggered.

Indeed, just as the major had foretold, a brilliant light emerged in the distance. Judging by the appearance of the opening, it was likely torn open by the pursuing Shoggoth. However, this presented an opportunity for escape.
