Everlasting Immortal Firmament Book 04 Chapter 047: Seven Immortal Executioner Swords

Myriad Age Daoist Sect? Heavenly Access’s line of inheritance?

Sha?

The Heavenly Access’s line of inheritance?

Gu Hai raised his eyebrows as surprise flashed in his eyes. The appearance of a Supreme Singularity had already been a surprise. He had heard of the Supreme Singularity from Earth’s legends. Now, there was a Heavenly Access?

Weren’t these the characters from Investiture of the Gods?

[TL Note: Investiture of the Gods was a major Ming dynasty vernacular novel of mythology and fantasy. It is commonly used as material for operas and films. Here is the Wikipedia entry on Investiture of the Gods: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investiture_of_the_Gods.]

“Oh? You have a doubt?” Sha seemed to have noticed Gu Hai’s surprise.

“Yes. I am quite curious. The Myriad Age Daoist Sect? I have heard of it before. Along with the Solar Divine Palace and the Spirit Mountain Holy Land, they are the three holy lands in the world, three upper-tier sects. The Myriad Age Daoist Sect? The Heavenly Access’s line of inheritance? Are there also a Supreme Ascendant’s line of inheritance and an Essence Genesis’s line of inheritance?” Gu Hai revealed suspicion.

“Huh?” Some surprise flashed in Qing Feng’s eyes.

“Where did you hear that from?” Sha asked, feeling suspicious.

“I was right? Then, the Myriad Age Daoist Sect’s sect master is…?” Gu Hai felt surprised.

“It is Sect Master Heavenly Access.” Sha looked at Gu Hai, feeling suspicious, but he did not hide anything.

“Sect Master Heavenly Access? The Four Immortal Executioner Swords?” Gu Hai exclaimed.

This is too uncanny, right?

Qing Feng’s pupils constricted as he looked at Gu Hai in shock. Then, he looked at Sha. The surprise in his eyes was clear.

Sha stared at Gu Hai and said, “You know quite a lot. The whole world knows that the Immortal Executioner Sword ranks seventh among the top sixteen ancient treasures. However, they do not know that the Immortal Executioner Sword is not one sword but a set of seven.”

“That’s not right. From what I recall, they seem to be executioner, killer, trapper, and ender? Thus, the Immortal Executioner Sword, the Immortal Killer Sword, the Immortal Trapper Sword, and the Immortal Ender Sword?” Gu Hai remarked with a frown.

Sha looked at Gu Hai with a grave expression. “Ha! It looks like you are like me, a reincarnated person. Perhaps your previous life saw only four swords. There are executioner, killer, trapper, ender, murderer, exterminator, and voider.”

“Executioner, killer, trapper, ender, murderer, exterminator, and voider? There are three more: the Immortal Murderer Sword, the Immortal Exterminator Sword, and the Immortal Voider Sword?” Gu Hai said with a heavy frown.

“Young Master…” Qing Feng interjected as though he wanted to stop Sha from explaining to Gu Hai.

“It does not matter. Even if he knows this secret, it does not matter.” Sha shook his head.

“Sect Master Heavenly Access? The Myriad Age Daoist Sect’s sect master is Heavenly Access, the strongest in the sword Dao?” Gu Hai frowned.

The strongest in the sword Dao?

Sha’s pupils suddenly constricted. He revealed a faint smile and said, “He is, for now.”

“He is, for now? What do you mean?” Gu Hai asked in puzzlement.

“Sect Master Heavenly Access’s sword Dao is passed down through the generations, accumulating over the generations. When it is eventually handed to the next generation, it will indeed become stronger and more ferocious. However, who knows what will happen in the future? Ha!” Sha said indifferently.

Although Sha had a definitive tone, there was only a refusal to submit in his voice.

“Through the generations? Wait? You earlier said ‘the Heavenly Access’s line of inheritance.’ Line of inheritance? Is there more than one Sect Master Heavenly Access in history?” Gu Hai asked, feeling confused.

“Of course, there is more than one. As long as one does not become immortal, one can live for only ten thousand years at most. How can there be only one? Heavenly Access is a title passed down through the generations. The new Myriad Age Daoist Sect Master would be the new Sect Master Heavenly Access,” Sha explained.

“That means it is not the Severed Sect’s Heavenly Access?” Gu Hai revealed a trace of incomprehension.

[TL Note: The Severed Sect is a reference from the Investiture of the Gods, which Heavenly Access is the sect master of.]

“The Severed Sect? What is that?” Sha asked in confusion.

Gu Hai: “…”

Is it just a similar name? However, this is too much of a coincidence. Even the Immortal Executioner Sword is the same? The seventh of the top sixteen ancient treasures, the Seven Immortal Executioner Swords?

“Perhaps what I heard was wrong. I heard about the Severed Sect, the Enlightened Sect, and the Mortal Sect. Unfortunately, it was all wrong,” Gu Hai said bitterly.

[TL Note: The Severed Sect, the Enlightened Sect, and the Mortal Sect are the sects that the Heavenly Access, the Supreme Ascendant, and the Essence Genesis led in Investiture of the Gods. These three were sworn brothers with each other there.]

Sha nodded.

Even with Sha’s understanding of the Myriad Age Daoist Sect, he had not heard of a Severed Sect before. Clearly, Gu Hai had received wrong information.

“Thank you for informing me,” Gu Hai said politely.

“It’s nothing much. Nearly all Upper Heavenly Palace Realm cultivators know about it. There’s nothing wrong with you knowing in advance.” Sha shook his head.

“Might I ask why the two of you are blocking my way?” Gu Hai asked.

“I have heard others mention that you used a ritual array to manifest the swordsman Dugu Qiubai. Furthermore, I saw your Cycle Saber Technique not long ago. Today, I came to experience them. I hope you will be generous and let me experience them.”

“The Cycle Saber Technique?” Gu Hai raised his eyebrows.

“Yes, the Cycle Saber Technique. I know that you were limited by your cultivation back then, unable to execute the last saber strike,” Sha said seriously.

“Oh?” Gu Hai narrowed his eyes.

Back then, Gu Hai’s saber exploded when he used the Third Cycle. However, that technique had exhausted his energy. He thought that he had managed to hide it from everyone, but Sha saw through that?

“I would like to see your final saber strike,” Sha said seriously.

“The Third Cycle?” Gu Hai frowned.

“Yes, the Third Cycle.” Sha nodded.

“Huh? You already know that I can’t execute it. Isn’t that just making things difficult for me?” Gu Hai said.

“I look at a person’s saber techniques not by their cultivation, but their saber conception, their saber aura, and their saber heart. You are different from others. I look forward to your Third Cycle. You can’t execute it? No, I have a way to let you execute it. Look into my eyes!” Sha said.

“Huh?” Gu Hai looked over.

Suddenly, dazzling light shot out of Sha’s eyes, rushing into Gu Hai’s mind.

Boom!

Suddenly, Gu Hai felt dazzled, and he appeared in a white, blank space.

There were only two people in this white, blank space: Sha and Gu Hai.

Sha stood nearby with a bronze sword on his back, quietly watching Gu Hai.

“Huh?” Gu Hai’s face sank.

“There’s no need to worry. This is a mental space that I constructed. We both entered with our consciousness. It is not difficult to leave. However, you can execute your attack with your full power here without having to worry about lacking energy. This is only a mental world. Everything is possible,” Sha said seriously.

Send out a saber strike?

Gu Hai raised his eyebrows, showing a sullen expression.

Gu Hai did not know where the Sha before him came from. Rather, Sha had been watching him for a long time already. Send out a saber strike? Gu Hai was not a person who loved fame and glory. Naturally, he was not interested.

Sha appeared to notice Gu Hai’s reluctance. He suddenly performed a cupped-fist salute.

“Sha has wandered the various nations, challenging many sects with the sword, to temper a powerful swordsmanship. I rarely meet a worthy opponent in my travels. I am glad to have met you this time. I sincerely request that you generously share your pointers with me! Sha will feel heavily grateful!” Sha said earnestly.

Gu Hai stared at Sha for a while, remaining silent.

However, Sha waited while maintaining his cupped-fist salute. After some thought, Gu Hai said seriously, “Very well.”

Sha smiled faintly. “Many thanks!”

Gu Hai extended his hand, and a saber suddenly appeared.

“This saber?” Gu Hai looked at the saber formed by his consciousness.

“It won’t explode. Don’t worry. It is manifested by the consciousness, and you can use it as you please,” Sha said seriously.

Gu Hai nodded.

Gu Hai held up his saber and narrowed his eyes while shifting his right foot forward. Then, he set himself as tengen.

Buzz!

Gu Hai manifested his saber conception, and two hundred twenty-one black and white sabers suddenly appeared around him, forming an extremely complicated Go puzzle around him.

“Third Cycle!” Gu Hai showed a serious expression as he sent a manifested saber at Sha.

The two hundred twenty-one black and white sabers merged with the manifested saber. The surrounding space trembled as an imposing saber aura formed.

The manifested saber was like the sea, and the saber qi like rivers; the many rivers all flowed into the sea. The manifested saber showed an ocean-like momentum as it surged towards Sha.

“Roar!”

A powerful saber strike charged at Sha.

Sha stood in place, opening his eyes wide to watch, but he did not draw his sword.

Suddenly, a cold light flashed in Sha’s eyes.

Buzz!

A sword conception materialized in Sha’s eyes, and a manifested bronze sword suddenly appeared in the air.

Sha’s sword conception gathered in the manifested sword, which then rushed at the Third Cycle’s manifested saber.

Boom!

The manifested saber and manifested sword clashed. The immense impact caused the mental world to tremble.

Buzz!

The manifested sword shot out large amounts of sword qi around it, looking like an azure lotus flower with its petals falling. This seemed to be slowly scattering the Third Cycle’s power.

Rumble….!

As the mental world shook, the manifested saber and the manifested sword vanished.

Equally excellent?

Gu Hai narrowed his eyes slightly. It is not equal since Sha did not draw his sword. To think that Sha neutralized my Third Cycle with just a stare? Pure sword conception? Sha’s sword Dao is that strong?

Gu Hai’s face sank.

Sha raised his eyebrows. “What a strong saber conception! To think that you managed to neutralize my sword lotus? Your saber is sharp and shows a balance between Yin and Yang. It is a perfect saber technique. It has allowed me to perceive some flaws in my sword Dao. A balance between Yin and Yang? Perhaps that can fix my flaws. Many thanks, Gu Hai!”

Many thanks? My saber technique ended up being used to feed your sword Dao?

“Ha! Since you want to see it, then continue watching. I still have another saber strike.” Gu Hai narrowed his eyes.

“Oh? Another Third Cycle? I just knew that you could not possibly have just one Third Saber. Bring it on!” Sha said with a faint smile.

Gu Hai’s eyes turned cold.

“Be careful!” Gu Hai said seriously.

As Gu Hai spoke, he set himself as tengen again.

Buzz!

Suddenly, two hundred eighty-one saber qi appeared around Gu Hai. However, the saber qi were overly ferocious this time, now looking solid. Furthermore, there were two hundred eighty-one of them?

A new Go puzzle appeared, and tremendous power suddenly rocked the mental world, causing the mental world to shudder.

“Huh?” Sha’s pupils constricted.

This time, Gu Hai held his saber with both hands. Then, he swung his saber with a ferocious expression.

As Gu Hai swung his saber, space churned and tossed. The strike seemed to tear holes in this space.

The might of the two hundred eighty-one saber qi combined threatened to destroy the world as the attack flew at Sha.

Everywhere the saber passed, the mental world collapsed.

“Cycle Saber Technique…Fourth Cycle!” Gu Hai shouted.

Boom!

The mental world tore as the manifested saber rushed at Sha.

Sha sent out another manifested sword with his eyes.

Boom!

The manifested saber ripped the manifested sword to shreds before continuing to fly towards Sha.

“Excellent saber strike!” Delight appeared on Sha’s face.

Sha finally drew his sword.

Shing!

When Sha drew his sword, overwhelming azure light filled the space.

Sha swung his sword excitedly, a ferocious expression on his face. An image of a vast azure sword lotus appeared and rushed towards the manifested saber.

Boom!

The manifested saber and manifested sword clashed. The powerful impact caused the mental world to explode.

Buzz!

The two’s consciousness returned to their bodies.

To Qing Feng, neither Sha nor Gu Hai moved at all.

Although Qing Feng knew what was going on, he did not know how the battle in the mental world was going. However, Qing Feng believed Sha was the strongest. Naturally, he did not think much of Gu Hai, even though Gu Hai’s Third Cycle appeared very powerful.

Boom!

An explosion rang out in the space between Gu Hai and Sha.

The two’s consciousness returned to their bodies. A large amount of dust rose from the ground.

“Sha? You have the strongest sword Dao of anyone I have seen so far,” Gu Hai said in awe as he breathed deeply.

Sha also showed shock in his eyes. “Many thanks for your pointers. How about we consider this a draw?”

“A draw?” Qing Feng goggled in incredulity.

Sha had never ever pulled a draw with someone before. Since he started practicing the sword, he had only won. There had never been a loss or draw.

A draw? That’s impossible. Furthermore, against this Gu Hai?

“Alright.” Gu Hai nodded.

Novel Notes

Hi everyone! How are you all doing? Anyway, I'm here to ask for some help today. I recently discovered another grammar checker tool called prowritingaid and am switching over from Grammarly Premium to that cause it's been pretty buggy on my google docs. Anyway, apparently, Prowritingaid has a referral program that can help me save costs. If I can get ten people to sign up for FREE accounts and edit using it for a bit, they will give me a free one-year premium license, and if I get twenty people, that's a lifetime license. I do plan to pay for the premium (likely lifetime), but I wanna try and save costs at this moment, esp since the income coming from translating is not good at the moment, and I'm still running on savings.

So I am now asking that you help me out by signing up and using it for a bit (You will need to test out some text, otherwise the referral will not count. Just copy in maybe a long document and go through some of their edits.). Here is my referral link. https://prowritingaid.com/grammar-checker?rafid=moVYZ

You can also request for a free 2 week trial for the premium here: https://prowritingaid.com/en/App/RequestTrial

Here's a little incentive to help me out too, if you can prove that you have signed up (You can show me a screenshot on discord), I'll give you 500 Dragon Scales 🐉, which is equal to a one chapter patreon access for one month.
