As soon as it arrived, the doors swung open and a mist of frost wafted out.

Qin Ling then confronted the group. “For everyone who wishes to follow along with us with the knowledge of what you think you know. Get in.”

****

Long Di was standing before a small river that ran from a small hill not far away. No one truly knew what was on his mind.

Mina, Shen Ling and Xiannu Liang were not too far away while Violet Flame Noble and Heavenly Sun Noble were both in meditative states with their eyes closed.

The former gave him some much-needed space to think, while the latter didn’t wish to confront him on this right now.

Well, most of the former was giving him some time to think, Mina was reading ‘My Dress Up Darling’ to recover from what FMA did to her. That was rough.

Pebbles The Wondercat was sleeping as always and Lord Whiskers was doing the same. Lord Whiskers Furryback the First’s aura was violently fluctuating now and again, signifying that the day of his breakthrough was nearing.

Long Di was thinking about what was said earlier regarding the nature of his attempted assassination from An Shalu Sanctorum and the deeper meaning behind it.

Suddenly, the sound of a pair of footsteps roused him from his thoughts but he didn’t turn around to see who it was.

Once the new arrival came up to his side, a cold voice echoed out.

“Can you give me the complete cultivation technique, please?”

Shen Ling heard this and was about to intervene when Pebbles The Wondercat stopped her in her tracks.

“Hold your horses Little Shen Ling. Waifu #3 needs to learn on her own how to deal with this. Be more patient like Waifu #2.”

Mina, for the first time in a good while, tore her eyes from the manga she was reading and asked darkly. “Just who have you designated as Waifu #2 you stupid cat?”

“Don’t flatter yourself!” Pebbles sneered. “Of course, Waifu #2 is Xiannu Liang. I mean she’s nowhere near the Prime Waifu, mind you, but I’m sure she’ll make her mark soon enough.”

A scarlet blush stained Xiannu Liang’s cheeks. “P-P-Pebbles! You ca–”

Pebbles nearly choked when he heard this. “Sweet buns of mercy! The Lion, The Witch and The Audacity Of This Bitc–”

Xiannu Liang saw where she went wrong and moved quickly to correct herself. “I-I meant Senior Lord Brother-In-Law Pebbles The Wondercat!”

“Goddamn right it is!” Pebbles snorted.

When Xiannu Liang realised what she said, a blush covered her cheeks, ears, and neck.

She only meant to say Pebbles The Wondercat, but his anger frightened her so much that she overcompensated. She couldn’t even bring herself to look at Shen Ling who couldn’t care less about what was happening and was repeating the term Prime Waifu in her head over and over again.

“You ask me this as if what we discussed earlier didn’t take place,” said Long Di in the face of Qin Ling’s request.

“They are here are they not? This means that they made up their minds to follow you, regardless.”

Back then, when Heavenly Sun Noble and Violet Flame Noble reacted the way they did, it was because a very disturbing rumour resurfaced in their minds and correlated with what they saw of this assassin and his target, Long Di.

In fact, it was this very same rumour uttered in secret by the upper echelon of Heavenly Sun Noble’s sect that she even came to know about a world of greater power.

It was in the face of this rumour that she heard of an existence that needed to be wiped out at all costs.

At the time, she looked at the Divine Daughter and the latter stared back unfeelingly and unflinchingly. It was the same for Violet Flame Noble as well.

Violet Flame Noble was greatly shaken as well. However, he already gave himself over to Long Di in servitude. With that being said, he would go all out in following him. Moreover, Long Di had yet to do anything even remotely near to crossing his bottom line.

In fact, Long Di, as unconventional a person as he was, did many things that he himself would do if he were in the latter’s position.

However, Long Di saw their reactions and could see that there was great apprehension in them all the same.

Someone wanted to kill him, someone powerful, influential and powerful, and he didn’t know why.

“Just grow strong enough and it won’t be a problem,” Qin Ling said, in a rare moment of encouragement.

Long Di thought about this and nodded, as it truly did make sense. “You’re right. Thanks, Qin Ling. Now back to business, you wanted the cultivation technique right?”

Qin Ling nodded, as this was all she wanted.

Long Di stretched and could feel his bones popping. “Okay then. We’ll need to go somewhere alone.”

“You… you’re not going to do anything strange to the Divine Daughter are you?”

A voice from behind them drew their attention, causing them to turn to see Wei Yun scrutinising Long Di deeply.

“I dunno, the duties of Waifu #3 are profound, according to Pebbles.”

“You!” Wei Yun nearly choked on her own anger. Who was Waifu #3!? The Divine Daughter!?

She only heard the term waifu a handful of times but it was obvious for reasons beyond her and anyone else’s ken, that it means someone’s woman or at least their romantic interest.

Wei Yun reined back in her emotions as best as she could, even employing the abilities of her own cultivation technique.

As soon as she did this, her voice returned to being as cold as it ever was.

“I will allow you to be alone with the Divine Daughter while you… help her.”

Qin Ling cocked her head to the side at Wei Yun’s odd choice of words. She was also slightly surprised that the latter would leave her alone with Long Di.

However, she didn’t comment on it and simply followed Long Di to a more remote location.

Eventually, she overtook him and led the way, since she was more familiar with this place than he was.

Long Di gave Pebbles the side eye while the latter responded with a sneaky thumbs up.

They came to an area that seemed like a small room built in such a way that it blended seamlessly with the surrounding rivers and trees.

Not only that, but on the other side of the trees that flanked them was a scene of ever-changing terrains that went by far too quickly for even Long Di to make it out clearly.

Long Di saw this and commented. “Isn’t this—”

“Yes it is,” Qin Ling answered, already knowing what he was going to ask. “This is one of the areas where the outside of the carriage can be seen.”

“I see,” Long Di nodded in understanding.

That’s right, Long Di and everyone else were actually inside Qin Ling’s carriage. The space within was enlarged with special spatial runes to make something similar to a faux quasi-small world.

It was also a perfect space for cultivation. However, ice-attributed spiritual energy comprises a majority of the energy here. So, even though the spiritual energy within was rich, it was most suitable for ice cultivators.

Krrssh!

Divine Ivoric Calamity Lightning Energy erupted from Long Di before his spiritual force followed suit and he moulded it into a dome that shielded this space from everyone else.

Qin Ling was caught off guard by this, and her aura quickly flared. “What are you doi–”

“Fulfilling your wish,” Long Di responded calmly.

Qin Ling’s eyes narrowed slightly, “What do you mean—?”

Shu!

Before she could react, Long Di’s index finger landed on her forehead and his spiritual force drilled into her body to see the state of things regarding his cultivation technique and everything else.

Qin Ling’s eyes opened wide in shock and her body tensed and froze when he did this while a red blush coloured her pale cheeks, ears and neck like Xiannu Liang earlier.

Did Long Di understand what he was doing right now?

Did he grasp the severity of his actions!?

He was peering deep into the boundary of her inner world. This was a very intimate act done only by either master and disciples or between lovers.

Long Di may have helped her regarding this cultivation technique when they were younger, but he sure as hell wasn’t her master.

Then… did he really take her as his lover!? As his Waifu!? And number three at that!?

In what world!?

“You…” her voice came out in a hushed whisper.

“Cultivate.”

When Qin Ling heard Long Di’s voice, her cauldrons subconsciously erupted behind her and she ran her cultivation technique.

‘What!? What was that!?’ Qin Ling was shocked that she just followed Long Di’s orders so easily.

Of course, Long Di couldn’t care less about her thoughts at the moment, since something disturbing was laid bare before him. His unfeeling voice caused her to shudder.

“Who did this to you?”
