Another World Trip: Journey with My Cat and an Otaku Loli Goddess Chapter 355 - Entering The Ren’duan Dwelling

“If you give us this, you can take any weapon of your choosing from within our dwelling,” the Gatekeeper suddenly said to Qin Ling.

****

“What!?”

When the crowd heard this, they nearly went crazy.

The Divine Daughter could choose any weapon she wanted from a Ren'duan Dwelling!? How crazy was this!?

What metal or ore did she just take out!?

One must know that the Ren'duan race specialised in forging. They had hundreds, if not thousands of powerful weapons at their disposal!

Sure, some of them were requests from cultivators that commissioned their creation. However, a store of them was from their own endeavours.

After all, the Ren'duan race specialised in forging. On a whole, they walked the Dao of Forging and were extremely accomplished on this path, shocking the world with their skills.

For Qin Ling to receive such an offer with a thumb-sized piece of this metal showcased its value.

Qin Ling gave a slight bow and asked. “Senior is it possible–”

“A method has been found,” the Gatekeeper stated.

“Then I would appreciate its use,” Qin Ling said with a bow once again.

The Gatekeeper sighed, seemingly in dejection. “It cannot be done here. You must seek the Ren'duan Dwelling in that place.”

“Thank you,” Qin Ling said. She then put away the thumb-sized item.

“You may enter all the same,” the Gatekeeper added, shocking the crowd even more.

Qin Ling cupped her fist before making her way to where Violet Flame Noble and Wei Yun were.

She wore a chilly countenance throughout the entire exchange. It seemed that nothing was able to shake her emotions.

Wei Yun saw this and sighed to herself as an air of melancholy fell on her. It seemed like every day she was losing more and more of her friend.

“Next,” the Gatekeeper said, wanting to get this over with.

Xiannu Liang then nervously stepped forward, and it was then that Violet Flame Noble and Long Di found a bit of a problem.

“Well?” Irritation flashed across the Gatekeeper’s face.

They didn’t consider the issue of Xiannu Liang and the others not having any metals or treasures to show.

“I-I don’t–” Xiannu Liang was beset with anxiety under the Gatekeeper’s pensive stare.

“If you don’t have anything worthy, leave,” the Gatekeeper ordered.

Xiannu Liang turned her gaze to Long Di, wondering if he would be able to help her. Long Di was just about to activate his Profound Myriad Heavenseize Physique to call upon his earth flame when Qin Ling waved her hand and brought another item.

It appeared to be a rotten piece of plank covered in moss. It was riddled with countless holes and it had a glossy feel to it, as if it was ripped from the floor of a ship that sailed through every storm that the seas had to offer.

A strong aroma of that rotten wood smell wafted from it but it was oddly more soothing than anything else.

“Tri Origin Divine Tree Wood. Acceptable,” the Gatekeeper announced.

Long Di looked at Qin Ling and cupped his fist in true gratitude, “Thank you.”

“It’s nothing,” Qin Ling responded coldly, she didn’t even look at him. However, Long Di didn’t care about that. He was still thankful and did something to express that thanks.

Lastly, it was Heavenly Sun Noble’s turn, and she quickly took out a large crystal from her storage ring.

It was completely red and there was a flashing light within it that emitted a blinding radiance. Heavenly Sun Noble’s hand trembled while she held it as well. Curiously enough, her hand trembled in rhythm with the flashing light. It made it seem as if this light had weight within it.

Unlike everyone else in Long Di’s camp, Heavenly Sun Noble’s material didn’t engender any adverse reaction.

To the crowd, it was because they didn’t know what it was and also because the Gatekeeper didn’t react strangely to it.

The Gatekeeper gave it a single glance and then to her armour before commenting. “You want to exceed its limit.”

Heavenly Sun Noble before stating. “It’s been with me for years and I don’t want to abandon it.”

“You’re nowhere near reaching it,” he responded.

“I—I know… but,” she looked at Long Di at this. “I feel I’ll have need of it sooner.”

“Hm…” the Gatekeeper didn’t push for anything beyond this. “Your material is acceptable.”

“Thank you,” Heavenly Sun Noble cupped her fist at the Gatekeeper before quickly taking her place beside everyone else that passed.

Long Di was just about to wonder what to do about Mina and Shen Ling when the Gatekeeper got up and entered the Ren'duan dwelling without paying attention to them.

“Gatekeeper what about the—Ow!”

Violet Flame Noble saw this and was just about to call out to the Gatekeeper when Long Di elbowed him in the gut.

The Gatekeeper looked back at Violet Flame Noble only to see the latter rubbing his gut in an aggrieved manner. He then shrugged his shoulders and continued on his way.

Violet Flame Noble looked at Long Di with hurt in his eyes when he saw him put his lips to his mouth to invoke his silence on the matter.

Couldn’t he have found a different way to do that!?

Did he have to elbow him? His elbow felt like a battering ram in his gut!

It was then that he noticed that Shen Ling and Mina were walking with them in knowing silence.

Long Di was more than aware that Shen Ling was using the special function of Blossoming Abyss to make her presence even more undetectable. If he wasn’t careful, even he would lose track of her.

As for Mina, she already, through 355 hand gestures, gave him the signal that he needn’t worry about her.

Mina’s identity as a goddess rendered her a special status that was innately ingrained in every race she came across.

To the Gatekeeper, she was as much a Ren'duan as the ones in the dwelling. He didn’t even question her being outside of the dwelling in the first place.

It was a curious ability that allowed her to do things that many others couldn’t.

As long as no one pointed it out, the Gatekeeper wouldn’t find anything out of place about her being here.

Pebbles and Lord Whiskers were also here, but that was because the Gatekeeper considered the two of them as pets of Long Di. He was aware of the identity of Lord Whiskers, but seeing that it was restrained, he didn’t stop it from entering.

The Ren’duans didn’t care much about the legends and myths of the outside world. They only cared about forging.

As soon as this was all finished, the forge which made up the Gatekeeper’s midsection blazed in a mesmerising fashion before it returned to normal.

“That should do it,” he mumbled to himself.

Curiously, no one bothered to complain about the Gatekeeper leaving his post. Long Di saw this and figured that they were much more aware of the situation here than he was, so he didn’t question it.

As of now, there was only one thing that was on his mind and that was the place where the Ren’duans resided, the Ren’duan Dwelling.

He took the first step that formally had him enter this place, and it was… different from what he was expecting.
