A large plain, entirely of my creation came into view among the stars.

“Hm? Well slap my ass and call me Sally. What happened here?”

****

So remember that Blood Drinking Devil Ape corpse I had taken into my physique a few days ago?

Right, so instead of there being the corpse of a Blood Drinking Devil Ape as I had expected, there was instead… a skeleton.

Yeah, you heard that right. There was a skeleton in my body. Got me all kinds of messed up right now if this doesn’t start making sense real soon.

See, I intentionally plopped the Blood Drinking Devil Ape within the ‘land of death’ I had taken from that realm of death. That’s the name we’re going with for now, since I know next to nothing about that place.

Wait, the land of death. Is that it?

“So it worked?”

Bet you didn’t think I would be happy to see this. I’m only happy because it suddenly made sense to me.

In truth, I want to create a true realm of death inside my physique since I’m of a mind to create something pretty OP I saw in a cultivation novel once—well, more than once.

The thing is, I have no idea where to start, but this wasn’t bad as far as groping around in the dark went. The soil I had taken from the realm of death was black, and stained with powerful death energy.

The air here was also stifling, it felt like it meant to bring ruin to anyone that set foot here. Not me though, cuz I’m built different.

Still, there was something deeply profound here. Must be all the death.

Personally, I don’t think death is all that bad. People have this perception of it that it’s evil when it’s quite natural.

Then again, it is overseen by truck kun, and that thing is the embodiment of black air force energy but that’s an argument for another day. Back to what I was saying, something natural shouldn’t be evil… should it? Like what is evil, anyway?”

“Hm?”

Something else caught my eye. The dark mist-like wind that covered this part of the plain was gone, most likely absorbed by the Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum.

As for the corpse of the Blood Drinking Devil Ape? Surprisingly, the only thing that was left of it was a skeleton.

It should be known that the corpses of extremely powerful magical beasts could take hundreds, thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of years until they fully decayed.

Though the Blood Drinking Devil Ape wasn’t an apex existence, its powerful physical body shouldn’t have even begun to smell much less rotted to this extent.

The first thing that came to mind as to what could have caused this was the Light Shroud Evil Durian tree and the Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum in turn.

The Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum, in particular, caught my eye as its glow was even greater than before.

It was further enhanced by the backdrop of black earth that held it in place and spread for miles around.

“Maybe the skeleton allowed it to recover a little,” I was trying to theorise what happened here after seeing the Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum.

“Still, does it make sense for its blood and flesh to be gone? Its body should have been filled with vitality even after death. So why was the Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum able to absorb it? Wait… was it the Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum that absorbed it?”

Don’t judge me, but because of the source from where I got the idea of the creation of this place, I closely inspected the black earth it rested on but couldn’t see anything unusual about it, well apart from its pitch-black colour.

Of course, the Light Shroud Evil Durians were currently encased in a miasma of darkness-attributed spiritual energy.

From what I know, many things were under the umbrella of darkness-attributed spiritual energy. One of those things was death energy. So, it was kind of obvious, wasn’t it?

This would explain why the Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum seemed stronger than before.

“So that’s it, I get it now.”

I love it when a plan comes together. Hear me out, this is my theory… which is probably right. So The Light Shroud Evil Durian is like an Oreo, black on the outside, white on the inside. There’s a joke there somewhere, but I’ll shelve it for later.

The outside radiates darkness-attributed spiritual energy, while the inside, according to Xiannu Liang, is filled with light-attributed spiritual energy. Based on some sort of inner mechanic, which I am pretty sure rivals the complexity of cold fusion, this fruit brings these two extremes together in harmony.

The Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum and Light Shroud Evil Durian Tree have reached some sort of balance with each other in a sense.

Now, even though the Blood Drinking Devil Ape’s corpse was still filled with vitality, it was still dead, and death energy is something that comes about after the passing of life. The vitality that was left would be what preserves the corpse for however long these things last, but in this case, I’m assuming that the vitality has been absorbed or maybe it bolstered the light aspect of the Light Shroud Evil Durian Tree in some way.

Taking it a step further, we can say that vitality or life, and by extension life energy is part and parcel of light-attributed spiritual energy and the light aspect of the Light Shroud Evil Durian was strengthened. This caused the darkness-attributed spiritual energy on the outside to grow stronger since for the Light Shroud Evil Durian to exist, it must remain at that constant equilibrium.

Combine that with the fact that after the vitality was taken, the death energy that was left behind basically turned the corpse into the equivalent of an Anorexic on demon time.

So the Light Shroud Evil Durian and the Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum both benefited from this big time.

Neat.

Since this place was good, the other place got my full attention.

This was regarding the land I appropriated from my new Anorexic guest. It was practically white-looking (not really) compared to the death-stained earth I got from that realm of death.

Grass carpeted the expanse and the regular trees I brought in were more than thriving. However, the Emerald Ever-Dew Engendering Elk Tree was obviously king here. In addition, the life energy present here was so thick and potent that it condensed into a mist of sorts. It truly did transform this part of the plain into a wonderland.

It seems the rich spiritual energy here caused the Emerald Ever-Dew Engendering Elk Tree to reach its peak and even surpass what it was capable of in the Spiritual Bingqi Realm. There were young blossoms on the tree, which was good news for me.

I crouched down and rubbed the grass and saw how blossoms were appearing on some of the trees I brought in when I’m sure as hell they weren’t there before.

“So I can support life. That is for sure, but it didn’t work when I tried to bring Yaomu Shou in. Is it truly because there is a limit to this place, or is it a case where I need to awaken it to bring in a higher form of life? I guess, as long as it doesn’t have consciousness, it’s fine.”

I went over to sit under the shade of one of the trees before the mere presence of a shadow just dawned on me. I looked up and saw the culprit for this. It was a ‘sun,’ shining down.

A draconic symbol that could be seen on its surface. Its rays didn’t contain much warmth, but it was the reason why powerful spiritual energy swam in this place.

There was another sun beside it, or maybe it should be called a moon at this point. It was the Earth Flame. Its radiance had dimmed when beside the Spiritual Vein Root Star, but its heat could be felt and it was enough to bless this place with a warmth that made it perfect to live in.

“I’ll need to get that thing a sun.”

It’s obvious by now that these stars or suns or whatever they were shared many uses, like strengthening whatever energy they were imbued with.

Of course, when it came to the other uses, my ass was still lost. I shall continue to grope around in the dark and hope I’m not sued for sexual harassment.

Still, the extremely rich spiritual energy was responsible for the Emerald Ever-Dew Engendering Elk Tree’s current state.

This must also be what’s causing the Light Shroud Evil Durian to grow through its light aspect, which in turn is causing the darkness-attributed spiritual energy to increase as well.

From there, we know that Deathdrink Ghost Chrysanthemum will get the energy that it needs. But even though it's better than before, it’s obvious that the normal amount of death energy it’s gotten thus far is far from its peak.

Killing people and hanging around in graveyards would probably grow it faster.

But it’ll be fine. After all, spiritual energy contains every type of energy under the sun. It just depends on whether one has the ability to draw in that type of energy.

Nevertheless, the ‘sun’ in this place has become fuel and engine for the counterpoise in this place.

Overall? Not gonna lie, we are looking good.
