Another World Trip: Journey with My Cat and an Otaku Loli Goddess Chapter 253 - Medium-Grade Spiritual Vein Root Obtained

Yaomu Shou took the initiative to answer, “You’ll need to negotiate with it.”

“Come again?”

****

I’m sure I misheard that. She didn’t say I should negotiate with this thing, did she? Is this thing even alive?

“Spiritual vein roots only live in the most auspicious places. That’s why experts build their sects, schools and clans on auspicious grounds,” explained Yaomu Shou.

“That doesn’t sound like a negotiation,” I told her. “That sounds like a non-consensual hijacking.”

“I’m getting there,” she replied. “So because they live in auspicious places and you don’t want to force it lest you risk damaging it. You need to convince it that where you want to take it to is better than where it is now.”

“So it’s alive?” I was still confused about that.

Yaomu Shou’s mouth curled up into a smile before she answered, “Yes and no. Alive in the sense that they move in tandem with the rhythm of the heavenly daos, but they don’t possess any intelligence. They make up the foundation of many things in this world but they are a kind of contradiction in and of themselves. They’re bursting with spirituality, but have no life to speak of.”

I listened to Yaomu Shou’s full explanation. Basically, I had to persuade this spiritual vein root to come with me.

It had to be introduced to a place that was worthy of a medium-grade spiritual vein root.

I wondered at what point did I go wrong in my life that I had to sell/pimp myself out to a spiritual vein root? Then again, maybe seducing a non-intelligent, genderless, sugar daddy isn’t all that bad.

Based on what Yaomu Shou told me, what a regular spiritual vein root was satisfied with wouldn’t be the same for a medium-grade spiritual vein root.

Sects that wanted to take on a medium-grade spiritual vein root would need to spend copious amounts of wealth to better prepare their grounds for its dwelling.

Of course, the returns would definitely be worth it.

“That’s not negotiating. That’s bribery, and a barefaced one at that.”

Yaomu Shou shrugged. “Call it whatever you want. Now you can fight it if you want, but if you damage it, that’s on you.”

That was reassuring. I then asked finally. “How do you go about convincing it?“

“Well, my storage ring has a wisp of the aura of the auspicious ground where our spiritual vein roots are located,” she stated, holding up her spatial life ring. “All I have to do is leak a bit of the aura and once the spiritual vein root senses it, we should be good.”

She then went on to say, “I can lend you the ring–”

“Lady Yaomu Shou!” Yaomu Baiyin interjected in a panic. It seems she didn’t trust me enough to let Yaomu Shou lend me something so precious. Can’t blame her, I’ve been told I need constant supervision.

“Shush!” Yaomu Shou shushed the blustering little Yuan Demon. She then turned back to me.

“As I was saying, I can lend it to you for a while, but I’ll need it back. If your plan works, then a spatial life ring is nothing.” She offered the spatial life ring with open arms.

I looked over my shoulder at the spatial life ring before I turned my gaze back towards the medium-grade spiritual vein root. “Hold on to that for a sec.”

Physique on!

Dum!

A boundless pressure spread out once my physique fully activated.

Instantly, the medium-grade spiritual vein root paused in its endless wandering and turned its… head? I wanna say head; it turned its head towards me.

Yaomu Baiyin and especially Yaomu Shou were shocked to see this. The latter was doubly shocked because she knew what it meant for the medium-grade spiritual vein root to take notice. I did too.

This meant that my physique contained its own laws and was naturally auspicious all on its own. For me to be able to attract a medium-grade spiritual vein root meant that my physique’s level of auspiciousness possibly rivalled where she wanted to bring it… nice.

I could see her confidence in me growing. That was a nice feeling, so I got to work on convincing this sugar daddy that my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.

Yaomu Shou

He never ceases to amaze me honestly. Here I am, looking at him with my hand outstretched with a spatial life ring like a fool. If he can do this, then this would be world-shaking.

I was placing a lot of capital in Long Di, but the return was surely worth it if worked. Long Di’s prodigious talent was moving and this physique of his was truly magical. And above all, he was trustworthy.

This had to work!

My fate depends on how this whole thing goes.

Regretfully, however, the spiritual vein root went back to its previous wanderings.

Then again, this was to be expected. It can take anywhere from a few months to a few years for a medium-grade spiritual vein root to be successfully convinced to move to another location.

So, just like that, we waited. A few days had passed and even Yaomu Baiyin went into a meditative state to cultivate.

I used the ambient spiritual energy to stabilise my cultivation base as well. By the time, three days passed, I was shocked that Long Di had never once released his physique.

Just how much energy does he have that he’s able to keep such a physique activated!?

It’s things like these that bolster my confidence in him.

About three weeks passed with there being no change when an explosion of aura went off!

D-D-D-Dum!

👁‍🗨

Long Di

Alright, so don’t get mad.

I got bored waiting for this thing to come over and did the cultivator’s equivalent of creating an Only Fans account.

So you know that technique I used where I utilised the pressure of my cauldrons? Right, so I just shifted that to my physique instead, and it worked!

The pressure was so strong that Yaomu Baiyin had to take several steps back followed shortly by Yaomu Shou lest they find themselves unable to stand.

With the several-fold increase in aura and pressure I was releasing, the medium-grade spiritual vein root was no longer able to ignore me.

Its long body shuddered before it cautiously made its way over. It stopped every now and again as if testing my attitude towards it.

Before long, it came right up to me and I held out a hand before it went completely still.

This was the moment of truth. This was the first thing that had this level of spirituality, if this worked, then all was good, if it failed then there was truly no hope.

I could hear nothing at the moment, meaning that everyone went silent, Yaomu Baiyin included.

Vrrrm…

Bizarrely enough, before the shocked eyes of Yaomu Shou and Yaomu Baiyin, the medium-grade spiritual vein root pushed its nose into my hand as if purring under my touch.

Getting a whole lot of ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ vibes from the whole scenario.

“Hiccup would be proud,” I whispered under my breath.

Then, as if in response to this notion, the medium-grade spiritual vein root let out an ear-shattering roar before it, with the help of its powerful legs, took to the sky before it descended towards me.

“L-Look out!” Yaomu Baiyin was so shocked by the sudden turn of events that she warned me to get out of the way.

However, I didn’t move and instead spread my arms out.

Yaomu Baiyin turned her head away not wanting to see the gruesome scene of me hugging something… jealous.

The medium-grade spiritual vein root crashed into me, but instead of crushing me underfoot, it simply phased into my body like a phantom.

That felt weird. I refuse to describe what it felt like… -_- reverse constipation, and I mean reverse in every sense of the word.

Ripples ran across my body following its entry and before long the more than a thousand-metre-long serpent disappeared into my body.

Shu!

Within the cosmos that is my body, a faint wyvern-like creature meandered about the stars. It didn’t take long for it to settle upon a particular ‘star’ in the body.

Because I focused on it, the scene was enlarged to close in on the medium-grade spiritual vein root.

A closer look showed the spiritual vein root burrowing into the star and its radiance transformed into that of the spiritual vein root.

A faint wyvern-like symbol then appeared on the star and before long, its radiance outshined all the other stars and the space around it was bathed in a light of pure spiritual energy.

I deactivated my physique right after and the earlier scene disappeared with it.

“Long Di you did it!” Yaomu Shou ran over with a thrilled expression. Her gamble paid off, and so the future was looking bright.

This meant the possibility was there for a high-grade spiritual vein root, to be taken in as well. The possibilities were endless!

“How do you feel!?” Yaomu Shou asked, rubbing her hands excitedly like a sly merchant or a housefly.

I clenched and unclenched my fists, as if testing out some new power. “Not really all that different. But I should be able to call upon the spiritual energy for my own use if I need to… I think. I’d rather try this outside though, since anything spiritual energy-based could unravel the seal.”

“No problem!” Yaomu Shou still had a big smile on her face.

“How do we get out of here?” Yaomu Baiyin came up with a crucial question.

Yaomu Shou took the initiative to answer. “Don’t worry, those in the medium grade and above will sometimes build their own space in an attempt to keep themselves safe. Once the spiritual energy here dissipates, this dimension should collapse.”

Well, that was that. This should make everything easier.

“Then it’s time to get out of here.”
