“… My birthday is coming up soon,” said Bai Zhou all of a sudden.

“I know.” There was no way Ji Fanyin wouldn’t know the birthday of her number one client. 

“21st birthday,” he emphasized.

“I know,” Ji Fanyin also responded with an emphatic voice. 

Back in Greece, that was the day she had promised Bai Zhou to give him a response.

“You’d better not have forgotten about it.” Bai Zhou let out a cold harrumph. He eyed her clothes and impatiently urged, “Hurry up and hail your cab.”

“I’m not heading home yet.” Ji Fanyin glanced at her watch. “I still have matters to attend to, so I’ll be leaving first.”

Bai Zhou subconsciously stopped her.” Where are you heading to? Who are you meeting with?”

Ji Fanyin tapped on her watch and reminded Bai Zhou, “It’s my private time.”

She walked out of the coffee shop, leaving Bai Zhou behind. She really did have matters to attend to—she was rushing to the cinema to catch the latest movie that hit the silver screen.

There was a real risk that she might get spoiled on her Weibo if she were to be late. 

There were still twenty minutes before the screening, so she decided to make a call to report on the progress of her work first. 

I guess there’s time to make two. 

The first call was to Mr. Bai’s mistress. She roughly reported her recent meetings with Bai Zhou to her, making sure to properly relay the charges.

The mistress was satisfied with the progress. “Bai Zhou didn’t return home over the holidays, choosing to stay in Lakeside City all alone. His father was infuriated. He grumbled quite a bit about it to me.”

Ji Fanyin could hear the smirk in her voice, as if the latter was boasting that she was the one Mr. Bai truly cared for. She raised her eyebrows and asked, “Does that mean that you’re satisfied with my performance?” 

“I’ve already said that you’re a smart child. A smart person can only succeed after choosing the right path…” The mistress paused for a moment before asking, “It looks like you sold the apartment I’ve given you?”
