100,000/Hour Professional Stand-in Chapter 47.2: Another Ji Fanyin Is Here (2)

While thinking about this complicated sisterly relationship, Ji Fanyin checked on the other messages on her phone.

Chen Yunsheng had sent her a message last night, nervously asking her: 【Big sis, I met your younger sister at school earlier… Are you close with her?】

Ji Fanyin replied: 【We aren’t close. I heard that the two of you chatted for quite a bit?】

Chen Yunsheng immediately sent over a ‘struck by a bolt of lightning’ emoji, followed by an explanation: 【That’s a false accusation, big sis! I only said seven sentences to her!】

Ji Fanyin was amused by his response: 【You even kept count?】

Chen Yunsheng’s reply arrived quickly: 【I kept thinking about it after I got home. I was worried that I might have said something wrong. I heard that she was the previous campus belle, but when I saw her in person… She’s really quite different from you, big sis】

Ji Fanyin:【We look alike, don’t we? You wouldn’t have gotten us wrong otherwise】

Chen Yunsheng anxiously defended himself.

【At first glance, yeah. But big sis, the way you smile is completely different from hers!】
【Big sis, don’t misunderstand. I admit that I got it wrong at the start, but I knew that she wasn’t you the moment she smiled!】

Ji Fanyin thought about her usual Ji Xinxin act.

Our personalities are completely different, so there’s bound to be a difference in our demeanor.

She thought that it was exhausting to maintain Ji Xinxin’s smile during working hours, but it seemed like Ji Xinxin had already gotten used to it.

Chen Yunsheng hesitated for a while before sending the following few messages.

【Besides, she…】
【She seems to be quite interested in your affairs, big sis. She kept trying to ask me, but at the same time…】

Sensing the hesitation from Chen Yunsheng’s words, Ji Fanyin decided to send a voice message over, “So, what kind of crucial information did you tell her in those seven sentences?”

Chen Yunsheng nervously responded:【My cousin would always tell me about the fights between women… You know, green tea and white lotus, those sorts of things. She’s fond of reading nove

Translator Notes

Starve’s Chinese Terminology Remedial Class

Green Tea (Bitch) is a term containing the words ‘green tea’ and ‘bitch’.
Green tea is defined to be something refreshing and sophisticated here, and bitch requires no explaining.
It usually refers to a beautiful and refreshing character who puts on an innocent and pitiful act, but deep down, she’s pretentious and ambitious. A few of them defining traits would be her constant attempt to seduce those in high positions and hook up with multiple targets.

White Lotus refers to characters that are unsullied and innocent, like a pristine white lotus.
Such characters are kind, fragile-hearted, weak, and naive. The main issue with this character is that she misunderstands her naivety for compassion, ultimately doing kind acts that harm those around her.
A few of her defining traits would be her willingness to forgive her enemies even if that person had tried to kill her on multiple occasions, as well as her unfounded anger toward her allies for harming her enemies despite trying to protect her.
(Basically, think of someone who is a saint to strangers and enemies but treat those who are nice to her like shit)

PS: Sorry I watched too many dramas with White Lotus female protagonists that it annoys me just to think about it.
PPS: While Green Tea and White Lotus have been traditionally used on female characters, it might interest you to know that there’s a shift to them being used on male characters on the internet and forums. It’s kind of a lens thing where we tend to be more critical of female characters, but often, when we do a character analysis, most of the supposedly ‘perfect’ male leads in romance novels suffer the same flaws as ‘White Lotus’ too.
