Song Shiyu’s assistant wasn’t there yet when she stepped into the arrival hall. She stood by the railings and pondered for a moment. Then, she tapped into her WeChat conversation window with Bai Zhou.

Her initial plan was to call Bai Zhou upon returning home so that they could have a good chat, but she had changed her mind. 

Song Shiyu’s assistant soon arrived at the arrival hall. He walked up to Ji Xinxin and greeted her, “Miss Ji, Mr Song sent me here to fetch you. Please follow me―Ah, allow me to carry your suitcase for you.”

Ji Xinxin thanked him. “How long would it take for us to reach the car park?”

“Around ten minutes,” the assistant replied respectfully.

So, Ji Xinxin whipped out her phone and continued replying to her contacts, informing them that her plane had safely landed. It was only when they were about to arrive at the car park that she tapped into Bai Zhou’s conversation window to tell him the same. 

As expected, shortly after Ji Xinxin spotted Song Shiyu’s car, Bai Zhou’s call came in.

With a smile on her lips, she picked up the call while opening the rear door of Song Shiyu’s car. “Didn’t I tell you that I’ve safely arrived? You didn’t have to take the trouble to call me.”

Bai Zhou’s voice sounded like he hadn’t slept a wink last night. “You’re at the airport now? How are you going to return home?”

“Hehe, it goes without saying that I have someone to fetch me. You don’t have to worry about that.” As Ji Xinxin got into the car, she mouthed out a greeting to Song Shiyu before turning her attention back to the phone. “Your voice sounds a little gruffy. Did you stay up all night playing games again?”

“It doesn’t matter. You didn’t want me to fetch you anyway,” grumbled Bai Zhou with a pout. “I’ve been gaming from dinner till now.”

“Should I praise you for remembering to have dinner last night?” replied Ji Xinxin mirthfully.

“That’s because you―” It was at this point that Bai Zhou’s voice was suddenly cut short. Several seconds ticked by before he anxiously covered it up. “―you always nag at me to remember my meal
