EIF - Book 05 Chapter 026: One Drop of Blood

The humongous dragons hovered above Elite Hall. They all showed hatred on their faces as their auras swept through the place.

The citizens around Elite Hall’s headquarters, who had just seen Gu Hai blast the city lord with the Heaven Blasting Cannon, looked at the sky in shock.

“Is Hall Master Gu Hai some kind of fiend god? He killed a bunch of angels, formed a grudge with the Solar Divine Palace, blasted the city lord, and still has to account to His Holy Eminence. How did he offend the dragons now?”

“It is not just one dragon. Look at the dragons’ aura. It looks like he has offended the entire dragon race!”

“Elite Hall? So what if it has the Heaven Blasting Cannon? It is in trouble now.”

The citizens showed expressions of pity. At the same time, they looked at Gu Hai with curiosity, wondering what exactly the grudge the dragons had against him was; the dragons looked like they wanted to chew his bones and drink his blood.

The dragon’s loud cry spread through nearly the entire city. Most of the dragons in the distant Dragon Star Palace rushed over—more than one thousand of them.

Dragons filled the sky, emanating ferocious auras as they stared coldly at Gu Hai below.

This intimidating scene shocked the fuming city lord. Yehua likewise felt shocked.

What is this situation? We have not started seeking trouble for Gu Hai yet, and another group has arrived? How detestable is this Gu Hai?

------

At a distant restaurant:

Li Shenji narrowed his eyes slightly. “I nearly forgot. There’s also the dragon race. Hah! Gu Hai is dead for sure this time!”

“Milord, how much does the dragon race hate Gu Hai?”

“I recall now. Back then, Gu Hai used a ritual array on the Thousand Islands Sea’s Nine-Five Island to kill one thousand sin dragons, who had their divine connection sealed off. Although those sin dragons had committed grave offenses, they definitely had friends and family within the dragon race. By killing so many in one go, he must have incurred the hatred of the entire dragon race.”

“That’s right. Furthermore, he even imprisoned Crown Prince Ao Shun for a few years. Haha! Gu Hai is dead for sure this time. That’s right. I heard that the event in Nine-Five Island even embarrassed Crown Prince Ao Sheng.”

Li Shenji’s subordinates chattered excitedly. No one thought much of Gu Hai’s chances.

------

At this moment, at Dragon Star Palace’s plaza:

Most of the dragons had rushed to Elite Hall, but Crown Prince Ao Sheng strolled to Dragon Star Palace’s entrance, looking coldly in the direction of the distant Elite Hall.

“Gu Hai?” Ao Sheng narrowed his eyes slightly.

“Crown Prince, should we stop them?” a subordinate asked with a worried frown.

“There’s no need. They are just taking revenge for Ao Shun. Why should I stop them? Hah!” Ao Sheng showed a trace of a sneer.

“Oh, right. Crown Prince, none of the elders went,” one of the subordinates said softly.

“Oh?” Ao Sheng raised his eyebrows.

Ao Sheng turned his head to look. Indeed, a group of dragon race elders stood on a nearby roof, facing in the direction of Elite Hall and occasionally glancing at him as though gauging his stance.

“The older, the wiser.” Ao Sheng revealed a faint smile.

“A dragon headed for Heavenly Mao City earlier,” another subordinate said softly.

[TL Note: Mao is the fourth earthly branch. It represents the 5–7 a.m. period, the second solar month, the year of the rabbit, and 90 degrees or east on a Chinese compass.]

“After Ao Shun returned, he went to Heavenly Mao City. Is that dragon going to report this to Ao Shun? Hah! That is normal. If Ao Shun knew that Gu Hai was here, he would not spare Gu Hai,” Ao Sheng said with a cold smile.

------

The dragons howled, releasing a vast aura to pressure the entire Elite Hall.

The surrounding citizens retreated before this aura. They looked at the sky in horror, watching the dragons roar furiously.

The Elite Hall disciples trembled with fear.

Only Gu Hai remained calm, sitting on his chair. Holding the teacup again, he gently took a sip.

“Hall Master, I…I have already used up the five paintings. What should we do now?” Mu Chenfeng asked worriedly.

“Just take care of the cannon. I will deal with the rest,” Gu Hai replied indifferently after taking a sip of tea.

“Yes!”

Gu Hai’s calmness spread, infecting everyone. The Elite Hall disciples immediately regained their composure.

“Humph! Gu Hai, here comes your retribution. Let’s see who can save you today. Today will be the day you die!” Yehua roared, scowling ferociously.

When Yehua roared, the dragons in the sky only glanced at him; none of the dragons rebutted him, as they wanted Gu Hai dead as well. Since their purposes were aligned, they did not care about Yehua participating.

Many of Yehua’s subordinates had died, but he could not interfere. However, since the dragons wanted to kill Gu Hai, he could take advantage of this opportunity to help them kill Gu Hai.

Yehua leaped forward, wanting to make a move.

However, Gu Hai glanced at Yehua coldly. “The day I die? Hah! The dragons wanting to kill me is a Qian Nation internal affair. How is it the place of an outsider like you to interfere? Yehua, I’ll warn you again. This is Elite Hall’s territory. If you dare to trespass, you die!”

Gu Hai dragged out the last word, showing a cold look in his eye.

“You!” Yehua’s expression turned cold.

“Aim the Heaven Blasting Cannon at Yehua. If he steps into Elite Hall’s territory, kill him!” Gu Hai ordered coldly.

“Yes!” Mu Chenfeng shouted in response.

Creak!

The Heaven Blasting Cannon aimed at Yehua, ignoring everyone else, only targetting Yehua.

“Gu Hai. Hahaha! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Let’s see how you die today!” Yehua started laughing from anger.

Perhaps Yehua could block a shot from the Heaven Blasting Cannon, but that was just perhaps. Gu Hai had already killed Yehua’s subordinates, so Yehua no longer thought of fighting.

Furthermore, more than one thousand dragons wanted to kill Gu Hai. Yehua just had to watch. No one could save Gu Hai. Gu Hai was dead for sure.

The Heavenly Chen City Lord’s eyelids twitched as he watched Gu Hai calmly drink tea. Even now, you still do not realize the situation you are in?

The surrounding citizens felt extremely upset with Yehua. Indeed. This is the Qian Nation’s internal affair. Why are you, an outsider, interfering?

At the same time, they became more curious about Gu Hai. Gu Hai pointed the Heaven Blasting Cannon at Yehua, not caring about the dragons. Does this Gu Hai not fear the dragons at all?

“Gu Hai, I don’t care about outsiders or whatever internal affairs. Humph! Even if this issue reaches His Holy Eminence or Prime, I want you dead!” a humongous dragon said coldly.

When that dragon let out a cold shout, the dragons roared, looking like they would charge now.

“Oh? Are you doing this to take revenge for the sin dragons or to stand up for Ao Shun?” Gu Hai asked with a faint smile.

“Humph! Sin dragons? Humph! They deserved their deaths. This great me is doing this for Crown Prince Ao Shun. So what?! If not for Prime stopping me, I would have destroyed your Nine-Five Island long ago. Since you delivered yourself here, this is your own doing!” the dragon leading the rest roared.

“What is your name?” Gu Hai asked with a smile.

“What is my name to a person who is about to die? Humph!” that dragon leader said coldly.

Mu Chenfeng interjected, “Hall Master, he is the son of the dragon race’s Elder Lin, called Lin Shizi.”

“Lin Shizi?” Gu Hai smiled faintly, appearing to be committing this name to memory.

Crack!

Just as Lin Shizi was about to charge down, Gu Hai seemed to clench his hand, using too much strength on the teacup. The teacup immediately shattered and made a few cuts in Gu Hai’s hand; some blood dribbled out.

“Hahahahaha! Gu Hai, are you still pretending to be calm? You have already exposed yourself. In reality, you are frightened to death. You even crushed your teacup from your anxiety and cut your hand!” Yehua sneered.

“Hah!” Gu Hai smiled as he tossed aside the teacup fragments. Indeed, there were a few beads of blood on his right hand.

“Dragons, quickly attack. The Heaven Blasting Cannon is focused on me now. Quickly kill Gu Hai before anything changes!” Yehua shouted.

“Roar!”

Lin Shizi immediately let out a roar, leading the charge.

“Humph! Gu Hai is nothing without the Heaven Blasting Cannon. I’ll take him down!” Lin Shizi shouted.

That huge dragon charged down, looking like he would reach Gu Hai soon.

Outside, the citizens, soldiers, and city lord opened their eyes wide. Is the previously ferocious Gu Hai going to die?

The Elite Hall disciples appeared horrified.

Lin Shizi was a Lower Heavenly Palace Realm cultivator. He approached in the blink of an eye, with a ferocious expression. The Elite Hall disciples could even smell a bloody stench from Lin Shizi’s maw. All of them appeared anxious.

Suddenly, Gu Hai extended his injured right hand. There was a bead of blood on his right middle finger as he flicked it out. That bead of blood shot towards Lin Shizi’s head.

A drop of blood?

This drop of blood flying out confused the onlookers. They did not know what Gu Hai was doing.

However, as that drop of blood flew towards Lin Shizi, it seemed like the entire world turned crimson.

Countless evil spirits appeared in this crimson world. These evil spirits held crimson sabers as they surrounded Lin Shizi.

“Hehehehehehe!”

“My flesh! Mine! I want to eat it!”

“I want meat! Don’t snatch it from me. Mine! Hahahaha!”

Millions of evil spirits surrounded Lin Shizi. Those with crimson sabers in their hands slashed Lin Shizi’s flesh. Those without the crimson sabers bit him.

Immediately, Lin Shizi felt his flesh turn mangled. The world became a world of evil spirits. Intense pain and horror filled him.

“Argh! No!”

Lin Shizi let out a horrified cry. This cry scared the dragons who were about to charge down.

“Little Lin, what’s wrong with you?”

“Little Lin, did you go crazy?” the dragons called out, not knowing what had happened to Lin Shizi. To think that it got scared silly by a drop of Gu Hai’s blood.

Isn’t it just a drop of blood?

It was a drop of blood. However, it was no ordinary drop of blood—it contained the Life Killer Saber’s saber conception.

The baleful and bloody aura instantly petrified Lin Shizi, trapping his mind in the Life Killer Saber’s world of evil spirits.

Then, Gu Hai extended his hand and pressed down.

Boom!

Gu Hai knocked Lin Shizi to the ground; the dragon curled up in horror.

“Don’t! Don’t! Don’t eat me!” Lin Shizi cried out in horror.

“What demonic spell did you cast on Little Lin?!”

“You bastard! Quickly, attack him together and kill him!”

“Kill Gu Hai!”

The dragons roared furiously as they charged at Gu Hai.

“Keep this up, and I will not hold back anymore!” Gu Hai said coldly.

As Gu Hai spoke, he drew the Life Executioner Saber with his left hand. There was still a lot of blood on his right palm. As he clenched his right hand, he seemed poised to fling all the blood there.

“Roar! Roar! Roar!”

The dragons showed ferocious expressions as they charged down.

Gu Hai showed a cold expression as he held a saber in the left hand and blood in the right hand, ready to fight with his full power.

An intense battle was imminent.

“Stop!”

Suddenly, a furious roar rang out in Elite Hall’s plaza.

Boom!

A strong wind swept over, instantly curling around the dragons and bringing them to a halt.

“Who is it?” The dragons looked over furiously.

However, their expressions immediately turned stiff in the next moment.

“Crown Prince Ao Shun?” the dragons exclaimed in shock.

DragonInWhite's Notes:

First Chapter of the month! Just a quick update, EIF has not been doing well financially and I have been unable to keep up with my bills from the income coming in from EIF. I had been running on my savings that I obtained from IMDC and running out. At this point, we are about halfway through EIF, it is about time I start searching for another novel as things do not look good. However, I will not be dropping EIF and will see EIF to completion (As of the time of writing this, 695 chapters left to translate to completion, less than 800 to release, 520 released, 86 chapters available in Patreon, 14 chapters as a stockpile for emergencies.) Instead, I will lower the release rate of EIF 20-30 a month so I have time to work on a second novel. As for when will this happen, it will depend, but I will only initiate it at the start of a month. so April is still a guaranteed 50 chapters. Meanwhile, I'm searching for novels to pick up, and will only initiate a decrease in release rates after I picked a novel and get myself a decent stockpile before releasing it. So basically, it will happen when I start releasing the new novel (likely something less niche and more similar to IMDC).

Chapters for April: 01 / 50

------

Hey guys, you all probably have been seeing the occasional message about Patreon and how EIF isn't doing very well financially. So I held out as long as I can, and unfortunately, things are not looking up. In the interest of being able to keep up a sustainable income to pay my bills and pay the team sufficiently, I'm going to have to lower the release rates of EIF in favor of picking up another novel. As of now, I have not found another novel yet, but I will be decreasing the release rates from May onwards so that I have time to search for the next novel. For now, the rates will be lowered to 30 chapters a month, essentially daily chapters.
