PHA - Chapter 313 - Awkward Miscommunication.

"Alright. I'll be waiting for your good news, then."

After a short discussion, it was agreed that Alice would head to the Rhine Kingdom to deal with the matter regarding the Demon King. Then, Haydn ended the call in satisfaction.

Meanwhile, Alice sighed in relief when the call ended since the worst-case scenario did not happen. Out of the various scenarios she thought of, the worst would be if Haydn suggested receiving her in person and insisting on joining her in search of the Demon King. She would definitely have her work cut out if that happened.

Fortunately, it would seem that Haydn cherished his life quite well. After all, he looked like he still had many years left to live. Moreover, unlike Hatter, Haydn wasn't without a family. In such a situation, it was only natural that he wouldn't wish to get involved in a fight between the Hero and the Demon King. Although Haydn possessed a certain degree of combat capabilities, he'd still be blown into smithereens if he got caught up in an exchange of taboos.

Haydn had also agreed to Alice's request to secretly enter the Rhine Kingdom and investigate the Demon King. After all, it would be in his favor if Alice could chase the Demon King out of the Rhine Kingdom without startling his people.

This, in turn, meant that Alice wouldn't have to call Luna to come over to put on an act with her. All she needed to do was find some deserted place to launch a few light- and dark-attributed taboos, creating the false image of a battle taking place between the Hero and the Demon King. Then, she would tell Haydn that she had chased the Demon King away and call it a day.

But I should still be more careful. I've taken things for granted too much before and never considered other possibilities after coming up with a plan… I can't continue acting this way in the future.
