Snow-Kissed Rose (GL) Chapter 86.2

Song Yingshi inevitably saw the image shared by the system. With just a glance, her expression turned serious, and a sharp glint flashed in her eyes.

In the image, Zheng Qiyi knelt pathetically on the ground, the darkness surrounding him highlighting the fear and panic in his eyes. A sliver of light emerged from the window he faced, striking a black and gold high-heeled shoe at the edge of the frame before reflecting off its surface.

Song Yingshi followed the shoe tip with her gaze, only to see it neatly cut at the edge of the image. The owner of the high-heeled shoe didn't reveal even a sliver of skin from their instep, staying hidden in the endless void that was out of her reach.

Song Yingshi's heartbeat grew erratic as she looked at the elusive edge. Immediately, she asked, Are there more of these images?

"The prize you drew is a low-level item in the mystery item category, so this still image's content is all you'll get, Host. For more content, you may try to draw for medium- and high-level mystery items," the system replied professionally.

Oh, never mind then, Song Yingshi said dismissively. With her luck, she likely wouldn't see any medium- or high-level mystery items in her lifetime.

After snapping at the system, Song Yingshi sat in bed with her chin propped up.

What was the purpose of this image? Was it a prediction of Zheng Qiyi's future? Or was it a scene that had already taken place in Zheng Qiyi's life?

Also, who was the owner of the high-heeled shoe?

Song Yingshi was most concerned about the last question. So long as Zheng Qiyi didn't interfere with her affairs or harass her woman, she couldn't care less what happened to him. But that high-heeled shoe… She urgently wanted to know the identity of the woman wearing it.

Song Yingshi was so engrossed in this matter that she didn't notice time slipping by. Meanwhile, Huai Xu gradually awoke, her eyes heavy with sleep regaining their clarity as soon as they spotted Song Yingshi's figure.

"Those things…"

Huai Xu's voice was hoarse from sleep and resembled a light breeze. However, when Song Yingshi heard it, it instantly jolted her back to reality.

Not good!

Without hesitation, Song Yingshi promptly reached for the container's lid. But before her fingers even reached it, she heard Huai Xu saying in amusement, "I didn't realize you had such a large assortment of…daily necessities."

Song Yingshi: "..."

Then, Huai Xu slightly furrowed her brows and asked, "But to start this early in the morning…isn't that inappropriate?"

Song Yingshi didn't answer. After silently covering the container with the lid, she turned around and stuffed the box of adult junk into Huai Xu's arms.

Huai Xu: ?

Smiling generously, Song Yingshi said, "These are the gifts I meticulously prepared for after you finish the third public performance, Team Leader. I hope you can perform well today, Team Leader. They're all brand new, and there's also more where they came from, so don't be shy with me."

Huai Xu: "..."

After the morning kerfuffle, Song Yingshi and Huai Xu decided on a temporary truce to avoid mutual destruction.

The third public performance saw more tickets distributed than the previous two, with a full 1,000 audience members expected. That was double the previous amount. An unprecedented grand event was about to begin, and the atmosphere surrounding the White Tower grew livelier as the audience members arrived.

Jing Xuan and Shang Yan arrived exceptionally early today, reaching the resort by 9 AM.

As "veterans" who had participated in the previous two public performances and the mainstays of their respective fan clubs, they chatted busily on their phones, guiding and clarifying the doubts of their fellow fans.

During a moment of reprieve, Jing Xuan glanced toward the White Tower and wondered, "Why haven't Little Shi and the others come out yet?"

"It's not even 10 AM," Shang Yan answered rationally.

"When I think about them walking through here, and myself walking on the path Little Shi and Huai Xu walked, hehe, hehe…" Jing Xuan laughed creepily. Then, she stood up from the bench, snapped a few photos of the bench, and said excitedly, "We might even be sitting on the bench they've sat on! Beneath this White Tower, anything is possible!"

Although Shang Yan found her friend's behavior a little creepy, she couldn't help but agree with Jing Xuan's thought. After all, if she could walk the path her idol had walked and observe the scenery her idol had seen, wouldn't that bring her closer to her idol?

Subsequently, Jing Xuan sat back on the bench and responded to several text messages. Just as she was about to discuss with Shang Yan whether they should fly home tonight or take some time off to explore N City, a voice suddenly came from above her:

"Hi, are you here to watch us live again?"

It was an unfamiliar yet familiar voice.

This wasn't a voice that Jing Xuan would hear in her daily life, so her brain didn't immediately recognize the voice's owner as an acquaintance. However, this was a voice she had heard countless times through a screen, its gentle tone permanently etched into her mind. Hence, even before her rational mind recognized this voice, she instinctively raised her head and blurted, "Little Shi?!"

No, it wasn't just Little Shi.

Shifting her gaze, Jing Xuan saw Huai Xu standing side-by-side with Song Yingshi.

Previously, Jing Xuan never understood why some fan club sisters and lucky passersby who met Huai Xu in person would claim, "Huai Xu is 100 times more beautiful in person" or "Huai Xu's divine beauty is beyond words." However, seeing Huai Xu's snowy complexion and ethereal beauty up close, she finally understood what they meant.

When Huai Xu saw Jing Xuan looking at her, she gave her a subtle nod, her voice as clear and chilly as water cascading from a snowy mountain as she said, "Hello."

Meanwhile, Song Yingshi turned her attention to Shang Yan, blinking as she said, "I thought I saw you from upstairs, so I decided to come and check. It turns out I was right."

After saying so, Song Yingshi playfully patted Huai Xu's shoulder and teased, "I remember you two liking Huai Xu, so I brought her with me."

Shang Yan could still keep her calm when speaking with her aunt. However, her mind blanked when facing Huai Xu. Nonetheless, she maintained a calm facade as she introduced herself to Huai Xu, "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm your fan." Oh my god, what am I saying?! Not even when meeting clients am I ever this formal!!!

While Shang Yan was experiencing an internal meltdown, Jing Xuan gave a short "Ah" before she stammered, "Little Shi, Huai Xu… Ahhhh, I'm too excited… Sorry if I can't speak properly…"

Then, Jing Xun suddenly remembered her duties as the President of the Snow-Kissed Rose Support Group, fumbling for her phone as she asked, "I… May I record a video? I want to commemorate this moment. Photos are fine, too. No photos is also fine."

Huai Xu quietly watched Jing Xuan, her expression softening.

Huai Xu had always felt that the relationship between fans and idols was unique. In her previous life, she initially struggled to understand it. After all, how could these strangers believe in her so deeply? She thought such a bond wouldn't withstand the test of time and would crumble at the slightest adversity.

But later, when she started clashing with those three men and faced numerous false allegations that tarnished her name, these supposed strangers never stopped supporting her. At one point, when even she had started to give up on herself, her manager had dragged a suitcase full of handwritten fan letters to her house. The contents of these letters reignited her will to fight, and after reading them, she meticulously preserved every single one.

Perhaps subconsciously remembering her fans' kindness, even before Huai Xu fully regained her past life's memories, she had already decided to work harder for her fans.

Now that her memories were fully restored, Huai Xu understood the fan-idol relationship more thoroughly and rationally. However, she still couldn't refuse the innocent requests of her fans, especially when it required little to no effort on her part.

When Huai Xu looked to her side, she saw that Song Yingshi was also looking at her. As their eyes met, without needing to ask, they both knew each other's answer.

Huai Xu turned back to Jing Xuan, nodding and saying, "You can take a video recording. Feel free to also take photos."

"Thank you, thank you! That's wonderful!" Jing Xuan exclaimed, her excitement shooting through the roof. She had finally gained the opportunity to meet the Snow-Kissed Rose up close and personal. Most importantly, they were speaking to and smiling at her!

Subsequently, Jing Xuan circled Song Yingshi and Huai Xu, capturing videos and snapping photos from every angle. Her only regret was that her phone was unable to clone the pair.

Even Shang Yan couldn't resist pulling out her phone to capture this moment. The pairing of her aunt and her idol was unbelievably picturesque, and nobody could resist taking at least a few photos of them. Fortunately, there weren't many audience members around right now. Otherwise, their appearance together would cause a commotion.

Halfway through the "photo shoot," Song Yingshi threw in some fan service, making a peace sign for the camera.

It was a silly gesture, but Song Yingshi was just 18 years old right now, and an 18-year-old girl making silly gestures was a cute sight to behold. Thinking as such, she felt even more compelled to capitalize on her youthful beauty, so she put up two peace signs, one on each side of her face, and smiled at Jing Xuan.

"Ahhhhh!!! Little Shi, you're the prettiest, cutest, and bestest girl in the world!!!!" Jing Xuan shrieked.

"Isn't that a tad bit exaggerated, hahaha," Song Yingshi laughed.

"No, no, no, not at all! You're super-duper cute!!!!"

Huai Xu glanced at Song Yingshi and Jing Xuan, then took a closer look at Song Yingshi. Seeing their interaction rapidly escalating, she grabbed one of Song Yingshi's peace signs, confiscating the "tool."

"What are you doing?" Song Yingshi asked in bewilderment.

"You look silly," Huai Xu summarized.

Song Yingshi coughed. Recalling her actions, she agreed that she behaved somewhat childishly. But there was no way she would admit that, so she faintly smiled and said, "This is called spoiling the fans. Instructor Huai, isn't it time for you to spoil your fans?"

"Me?" Huai Xu's expression stiffened.

In the past, Huai Xu's way of spoiling her fans was simple: have her assistant post more pictures on social media and host more concerts. Never had she "acted cute" like Song Yingshi. Hence, she was at a loss on how to proceed.

"Instructor Huai? Hurry up; your fans are waiting," Song Yingshi said, her smile turning a little unruly.

Meanwhile, Jing Xuan and Shang Yan looked on with anticipation.

Huai Xu pursed her lips. After a moment of hesitation, she raised her thumb and forefinger to make a heart gesture while simultaneously moving her lips into a modest smile.

Huai Xu's pose looked awkward and uncomfortable. Three seconds later, she dropped it and turned to look at Song Yingshi sullenly, only to see Song Yingshi suddenly wrap her arms around her neck, clinging to her while laughing softly.

Huai Xu's resentment disappeared as quickly as it appeared. However, when Song Yingshi's laughter showed no signs of stopping, she said coldly, "What's so funny?"

Song Yingshi's laughter was lighter than a feather. Leaning forward, she whispered into Huai Xu's ear, "I'm laughing at how cute you are. Instructor Huai, I think you're more deserving to be called the prettiest, cutest, and bestest girl in the world."

Huai Xu: "..."

Huai Xu took Song Yingshi's words as sarcasm, peeling Song Yingshi off herself and glaring at the other party. When she turned around to face her fans again, she relaxed her expression and said, "We're going to meet with our teammates now. You two have fun. Don't hesitate to find the staff should you need anything; they should be stationed everywhere today. See you on the stage."

Jing Xuan and Shang Yan nearly fainted after being earnestly advised by their idol.

"T-Then, good luck, Little Shi, Huai Xu!"

"We look forward to your collaboration!"

Just as Jing Xuan was speaking, her phone's screen lit up, informing her that she had received an invitation to join a group voice call. Coincidentally, her finger was on the "Join" button, so she accidentally joined the voice call. Immediately afterward, multiple female voices came from her phone:

"Pres, are you there yet? Soft 11 and I have arrived at N City's high-speed rail station. Which subway line should we take again?"

"Yo, yo, I'm Bear K1ng— Are Sweetheart, Wealthy Firewood, and Heartbroken Rose there yet? I'm arriving soon. Where should we meet?"

"I'm A Cutie's 0… Wait, why does my ID sound so weird when I say it out loud?"

The female voices sounded chaotic but lively, immediately drawing everyone's attention.

After coming to her senses, Jing Xuan hurriedly exited the call and awkwardly apologized, "Haha… Sorry, the IDs in my group sound a little strange, but they're all fans of you two. They're also coming to watch you perform live today."

Jing Xuan offered multiple explanations for fear of her and her cohorts being mistaken as an inappropriate group.

However, Song Yingshi wasn't in the mood to listen to Jing Xuan's explanations. This was because her attention was entirely on those odd-sounding and memorable IDs.

Song Yingshi: "..."

Even without Jing Xuan's explanation, Song Yingshi already knew everything. She knew what Jing Xuan's group was called and what its members were like. She even knew that there was a member called "Little Hatchling" in the group.

In that case, was today a large-scale IRL meet-up for the group?
