The river was not long. The water was clear, with gleaming reflections on its surface. There were also quite a number of branches and flower petals floating on the water, producing a soothing fragrance.

Qin Nan withdrew his aura and approached the river silently. He could see several beasts following the current of the river motionlessly.

Whoosh!

Qin Nan suddenly made his move, like an erupting king of beasts. He launched the branch in his hand into the river at lightning speed.

Whoosh!

The beasts were startled. They immediately fled for their lives, splashing the water everywhere.

A pool of blood slowly spread in the water. Qin Nan reached forward and dragged three giant fish with glowing scales and eyes like pearls out from the water.

"These should be enough."

Qin Nan murmured and proceeded to find a few branches around the place to make a bonfire.

"I should remove the scales first."

Qin Nan thought. He used the tree branch as a saber and cleaned the scales.

He then discovered the fish did not smell nice at all, thus he went to find some flower petals and smashed them into liquid and sprinkled it onto the fish.

"The next step should be seasoning...forget it, let's cook them first."

Qin Nan was starving. He no longer cared about the taste. He ignited the fire, set up a stand and placed the fish on it.

The fire burned slowly. The meat of the fish was cooked starting from the outer layer. A pleasant aroma lingered in the air.

Qin Nan looked in the other way while cooking the fish.

Empress Feiyue was cold as usual. She was walking back and forth on the patch of grass.

Several purple-golden runes would appear whenever she took a step.

However, the runes were extremely dim.

It was obvious that the energy inside her body was insufficient to support the execution of the formation after she was injured.

Qin Nan withdrew his gaze and focused on cooking the fish.

The two did not speak, as if they were ignoring one another's existence.

The only sound left in the valley was the crackling of the fire.
