Nightmare Assault Chapter 384: Warning

The paper notes disappeared like the wind. It was so fast that Fatty could barely react. “I dropped them when I went shopping for groceries this morning.” The woman said naturally, “But I still need to thank you.”

The door opened further. The woman took a look at them before her focus centred on Banana Wolf. Then, she moved away. “If you’re free, why don’t you come in and have a seat?”

“Thank you, Sister Qing.” Jiang Cheng accepted the invitation. Fatty followed Jiang Cheng. Banana Wolf was the last. The three sat in a row on the couch. They were as obedient as children.

Wen Qing turned to head into the kitchen. When she returned, she carried a tray of glasses and a pretty teapot.

The room had thick curtains, and only a small light was left open. The atmosphere was strange. To Banana Wolf’s surprise, Wan Qing didn’t appear as unapproachable and as old as Jiang Cheng described. Her get-up would not be considered dated in the real world. The loose wine-red pyjama couldn’t hide her amazing figure. Her long hair spread behind her. She had light makeup on her face. Her eyes that glowed wickedly lent her an air of sickly beauty. The woman radiated a very different feeling to Banana Wolf.

Jiang Cheng observed the woman’s body openly. Fatty was too cowardly. He either kept his head lowered or only dared to look around.

Wen Qing bent over and filled up the cups. Then, she adjusted her hair. Her charming gaze landed on Banana Wolf. “This is…”

“I’m Banana Wolf.” Banana Wolf nodded unnaturally. He introduced himself and looked away. When he met the woman’s gaze, his heart started to race.

“Sister Qing.” Jiang Cheng asked, “Are you home alone?”

“Yes.” Wen Qing looked away from Banana Wolf to address Jiang Cheng. “I live alone with my two dogs.” She extended her tapered finger to point at the bedroom door. “They don’t like having guests around, so I locked them in my bedroom.”

Wen Qing’s voice carried some kind of mysterious power. It was very melodious. Banana Wolf subconsciously gripped his hand.

As if in response to the woman, a scratching sound came from the bedroom. One could also hear the low growls of dogs. Wen Qing’s words matched the old landlord’s story. Their initial guess was wrong. It was not the ghost hand inside her bedroom but her two dogs.

“You still haven’t moved away?!” The woman picked up the cup to take a sip. As the woman placed the cup down, Jiang Cheng’s pupils trembled. He saw the woman’s lips had taken on a hue of red. The cup didn’t seem to contain tea but blood.

Jiang Cheng resisted the pounding of his heart and flashed an innocent smile. “Sister Qing,” Jiang Cheng pressed his lips. “I did plan to move, but I am worried about you. You’re such a charming woman living here alone. What if someone bad targets you?” Jiang Cheng said worriedly.

Fatty quickly picked up the cup to cover his shock. However, as he lifted the cup, he realised he was inside a haunted house and the woman before him was a ghost, so the tea…

Thankfully, Wen Qing’s attention was on Jiang Cheng. Her lips curved into a soul-snatching smile. “Is there someone worse than you?” She narrowed her eyes.

Fatty couldn’t stand it and downed the tea. The tea was denser than he thought. He had no idea what was added to it.

Jiang Cheng acted panicked, like a young man who didn’t know the workings of the world. Wen Qing didn’t press but turned her gaze back to Banana Wolf. Banana Wolf, who was sneaking a look, quickly looked away.

“Do you also live here?” Wen Qing’s voice was exceptionally alluring. Banana Wolf could barely hold on. He hadn’t had a girlfriend even though many girls had confessed to him. However, he hadn’t met someone whose gaze was so evident in its desire to consume him.

“I… I don’t live here,” The flustered Banana Wolf answered.

Wen Qing’s interest in him was greater than her interest in Jiang Cheng. After she refilled his cup, she smiled. “You look very nervous.”

“No.” Banana Wolf tried to formulate a response. He uttered through quivering lips. “I just… didn’t expect sister to be so young.”

“Why? Did they…” Wen Qing glanced at Jiang Cheng and Fatty. “Tell you that I’m very old?”

An arm landed on his shoulder. The long but cold fingers touched his neck. Wen Qing materialised beside him. The chilling feeling lingered around his neck.

Just as Jiang Cheng pondered how to help Banana Wolf, the latter suddenly raised his head. The finger that touched his neck was suddenly engulfed by a heating pack. Wen Qing raised her brow.

A fingertip walked on the back of Wen Qing’s hand. It was ticklish. “Have I… gotten sister’s attention?” Banana Wolf cupped his hands over Wen Qing’s. His pure eyes reflected Wen Qing’s figure.

Jiang Cheng’s eyes shifted.

Eventually, the coldness in Wen Qing’s eyes melted. Her face took on a different expression.

Jiang Cheng took the chance to glance at the time. Eighteen minutes had passed.

This was bad…

If they delayed any longer, their teammates outside might do something irrational… even though Jiang Cheng didn’t quite trust them. However, if they left now, they would have missed a perfectly good opportunity. Time wasn’t on their side, and they needed to know what happened in Room 808.

Wen Qing noticed Jiang Cheng’s action. She turned to ask him, “Do you have other tasks waiting for you to complete?”

Jiang Cheng pressed his lips. However, the next second, Banana Wolf said with ease, “You guys can go.” He shot a look at Jiang Cheng, worried that the latter might ruin a good thing.

While Wen Qing turned around, Banana Wolf nodded at Jiang Cheng. He was still nervous, but he was more confident; However, whether they succeeded or not depended on Wen Qing.

“We had just arrived. It’ll be too impolite if we leave just like that. How about I stay behind to accompany big sister?” He looked at Sister Qing. His tone and eyes were filled with sincerity.

The locked door opened a gap.
