Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 57 - Imperial Top Scorer; White God At The Door

With a failed evaluation, Wang Zihao's hopes of entering a top 20 academy had been completely shattered.

And now that he had been expelled, forget top 20, even the top 100 academies wouldn’t consider him anymore.

Not even his family’s influence or the backing of the Dynasty Guild could change that.

Wang Zihao's future was all but sealed. At best, he might find a place in an average academy.

One by one, the results were announced.

Aside from Lin Moyu and Xia Xue, Xihai No.1 High School performed reasonably well.

Gao Yang ranked 61st—not great, but respectable. The others scored lower, but should still be eligible for admission to various academies.

Then, the examiner’s voice rang out once more, “For combat-type classes, the top scorer of Jiangning Province this year is—Lin Moyu.”

The announcement sent shockwaves through the crowd. A moment later, thunderous applause erupted.

Becoming the provincial top scorer was no small feat—especially when Lin Moyu did it with overwhelming dominance.

Even if you combined the scores of the other four who entered the Battle-Space with him, they still couldn’t match his.

His lead was simply undeniable.

As the applause continued, the examiner’s voice rose again: “The empire has issued an official declaration: this year’s imperial top scorer is Lin Moyu.”

Gasps echoed through the crowd.

Lu Yun sprang up again. He was so excited—so fired up—that his head erupted with flames.

“Imperial... imperial top scorer… Moyu is the imperial top scorer… this… this isn’t a dream, right? I heard that correctly, didn’t I?”

For a moment, Lu Yun was speechless—his thoughts scrambled, his mouth unable to form coherent words. He simply couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.

“Old Lu, are you okay?”

“Calm down, don’t pass out on us. Breathe.”

“It’s real—Lin Moyu really is the imperial top scorer.”

“You didn’t mishear. You’ve got bragging rights for life now.”

“They might as well rename your school to Top Scorer High School. You picked up a gem!”

Their words were a mix of awe and envy, admiration tinted with jealousy.

The fire on Lu Yun’s head continued to blaze, mirroring the wild excitement in his heart.

Outside the Trial Tower, the applause roared like thunder.

“Imperial top scorer! Jiangning Province finally produced an imperial top scorer!”

“My god… how many years has it been since that last happened?”

“Lin Moyu is incredible… to actually take the imperial top scorer spot!”

Amidst all the noise, Lin Moyu stood calm as ever—composed, unmoved.

When he’d learned he was the provincial top scorer, he’d already suspected he might become the imperial top scorer as well.

Now, that hunch had become reality.

Xia Xue looked at him in surprise, “You just became the imperial top scorer. Why don’t you look happy?”

“I am happy.” Lin Moyu replied, voice even.

Xia Xue pouted, “Then why aren’t you smiling?”

“I am. On the inside.”

“You’re such a blockhead.” She snorted, then added, “Still—congrats, Top Scorer Lin.”

Just then, Zuo Mei and Feng Xiu approached together.

“Congratulations, Lin Moyu.” Zuo Mei said.

She was slightly petite, her voice carrying a faint chill—perfectly matching the cold, composed temperament of her class.

Feng Xiu extended his hand, “Seriously, thank you. If it weren’t for you, we would've been in real trouble back there.”

Zuo Mei also expressed her thanks.

Lin Moyu shook Feng Xiu’s hand, “You’re welcome.”

“You’re going to Xiajing Academy, right?” Feng Xiu asked.

Lin Moyu nodded.

“Great. I’ll see you there. I'll treat you to a meal later.”

“Mhm.” Lin Moyu replied flatly.

Lin Moyu’s demeanor was cold—colder than even Zuo Mei. The atmosphere grew awkward in an instant.

Thankfully, Xia Xue stepped in with a quick smile, “He’s always like this. I’ve been in the same class as him for three years, and we’ve barely exchanged ten sentences.”

Lin Moyu calmly corrected her, “It’s sixteen.”

Pfft...

Feng Xiu and Zuo Mei burst into laughter.

Lin Moyu might not be talkative, but he actually seemed quite interesting.

The great examination had come to a close.

The examinees were teleported back to their respective schools.

Lu Yun didn’t return with the rest—the support-type class examination was still ongoing, so he had to remain behind.

Lin Moyu returned home and took some time to rest.

Tomorrow, he could do the academy registration.

His target: Xiajing Academy. As the imperial top scorer, his admission was guaranteed.

After all, if someone like him wasn’t accepted, no one else would be.

After a brief pause, he quietly summoned four Skeletal Warriors and stored them in his summon space.

The number of skeletons in the summon space now stood at 104.

Back in the Battle-Space, the Skeletal Warriors had taken varying degrees of damage while fighting the Ferryn Beastman Warriors.

Now, within the summon space, they were rapidly recovering.

Knock knock knock.

The sudden knocking snapped Lin Moyu out of his meditative state.

The fire on Lu Yun’s head had finally gone out, but the excitement on his face still hadn’t faded. This man in his sixties had never been so thrilled before.

“Principal Lu, what brings you here?”

It was already late—deep into the night. For Lu Yun to show up now, something must’ve happened.

But he hadn’t come alone.

Standing beside him was someone Lin Moyu didn’t recognize.

And the moment he laid eyes on the stranger, the hair on his entire body stood on end.

A terrifying aura radiated from the man, so intense it felt like the air itself was being squeezed out of the room.

Breathing became difficult. It was as if he might suffocate at any second.

Lin Moyu didn’t sit idle and await his fate. In a flash, Skeletal Warriors appeared before him, shielding him.

“Nice reaction.”

The man remained mostly obscured, his face hidden in the shadows. But Lin Moyu recognized the voice—and immediately relaxed.

He bowed with respect, “Greetings, White God.”

The oppressive aura vanished as Bai Yiyuan stepped out from the darkness, “Oh? How did you know it was me?”

Lin Moyu dismissed his summons, “I recognized your voice.”

“Heh.” Bai Yiyuan chuckled, clearly pleased.

When he reviewed the footage from the Battle-Space, he had witnessed Lin Moyu’s performance.

Now, seeing him up close, Bai Yiyuan felt even more impressed.

Lin Moyu was calm and composed, and his instincts were sharp.

Bai Yiyuan gave him full marks.

“Good, very good. I came to speak with you about Xiajing Academy.”
