Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 - Erasing The Evidence; There May Be Danger Here

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Corpses were hurled into the air, one explosion after another echoing through the surroundings. Lin Moyu had detonated the bodies, erasing all traces. Once the destruction was complete, he stepped into the dungeon.

The onlookers who had protested earlier cautiously approached the scene, trembling as they recalled the fearsome energy released by Corpse Explosion. It felt as though blades had sliced through their bodies.

"Oh my god, they're all dead."

"Not a single one survived."

"Not only were they killed, even their corpses were obliterated."

"What a ruthless character..."

"He’s crossed Dynasty Guild."

"They won't let this slide."

"What should we do?"

Wang Yi suddenly stepped forward and said, "Everyone, knowing how Dynasty Guild operates, they won't let this slide. If they catch us, it won’t matter whether we talk or not—the result will be the same: death. I have a suggestion—why don’t we just leave? Let’s get out of Xihai City, leave Jiangning Province, and move far beyond Dynasty Guild’s reach. There are plenty of other places to level grind, and Dynasty Guild isn't all-powerful. They might not even find us."

His words struck a chord. Everyone nodded in agreement. Dynasty Guild’s reputation preceded them—if caught, their fates were sealed regardless of their cooperation. Wang Yi cupped his hands, saying, "I'll take my leave first. Farewell, everyone."

"Goodbye!" Echoed the others, following his lead. Soon, the dungeon entrance was deserted.

As the flames died down, only the swirling black vortex at the entrance of Xihai Mine remained, emitting faint, eerie whistles. Under the calm moonlight, the area returned to its tranquil state.

Half an hour later, a group emerged from the dungeon, with Wang Zihao among them. His face showed clear disappointment—he hadn’t managed to secure the Goblin King’s core and now faced a 12-hour wait before he could try again. Still, hope remained. With several days left before the grand examination, he had at least four more attempts.

"Huh? Where is everyone?"

"Zhao Ji and the others—where did they go?"

"There were so many people here earlier..."

"Something's not right."

"Zhao Ji and the others have vanished. Everyone else is gone too. What the hell is going on?"

The group that accompanied Wang Zihao into the dungeon showed signs of alarm. At only level 17, they were far less experienced than Zhao Ji and his team. In this moment, they could only look to Wang Zihao for leadership; after all, he was the junior guild leader of Dynasty Guild.

But even Wang Zihao was at a loss, his face practically a picture of confusion. After a brief pause, he finally ordered, "Fire a signal flare. If Zhao Ji is nearby, he’ll respond."

A signal flare shot into the sky, exploding into a massive ball of light visible within a 10-kilometer radius. As the light faded without a response, it became clear that Zhao Ji and his group weren't nearby.

Wang Zihao's mind raced—something must have happened to them while he was in the dungeon. There was no way they would leave on their own. Could Zhao Ji have been killed? Given their strength, Zhao Ji's team was a dominant force in this area.

Wang Zihao shook off the thought. Even if Zhao Ji had been killed, there should be signs. Yet there was nothing.

"Not only is Zhao Ji missing, but everyone else is gone too." Wang Zihao muttered, "Something strange is going on. There may be danger here. Let’s leave first and try to contact Zhao Ji later."

The eerie silence was unsettling. Wang Zihao made the decision to retreat.

Meanwhile, deep within the dungeon, Lin Moyu pressed forward with 64 Skeletal Warriors wreaking havoc around him. His strategy remained unchanged, and his EXP soared rapidly. This time, his efficiency was even higher than before. In just an hour, Lin Moyu had already reached the dungeon's end. His Skeletal Warriors surrounded the Goblin King, unleashing a relentless barrage of attacks. The metallic clangs of battle echoed through the cavern.

Drawing on previous experience, Lin Moyu timed his moves perfectly. Every time the Goblin King attempted to use a skill, he would interrupt it with Soul Blaze. His skill was near-instantaneous, faster than the Goblin King’s skills. After 30 intense seconds, the grand nightmare rank dungeon boss collapsed on the ground, dead.

[Killed Goblin King, EXP +40,000]

[Obtained Goblin King's Magic Book]

[Obtained elementary monster core]

As expected, the Goblin King’s core didn’t drop this time—only an elementary monster core dropped. The Goblin King’s core only dropped once every 100 days, underscoring its rarity and value.

Once Lin Moyu entered Xiajing Academy, he planned to find an Alchemist to forge the Goblin King’s core into the King Goblin’s Ring, a powerful boss accessory useful regardless of class or level.

Lin Moyu then checked the attributes of the King Goblin’s Magic Book.

[Goblin King's Magic Book: bronze rank weapon, spirit +10, physique +10, increases the power of Mage-type skills by 3%. Usable after level 12.]

Judging by its attributes, the item might not be an ideal fit, but it would suffice for now. Lin Moyu held the book, showing some interest.

The power of Mage-type skills was increased by 3%—useful for skills like Soul Blaze and Corpse Explosion, but not for Summon Skeletal Warrior, which didn’t seem to be classified as a Mage-type skill.

A glow enveloped Lin Moyu, signaling that he had leveled up. He had reached level 13 after defeating the Goblin King.

"The EXP requirement has increased again." He thought, "I won’t be able to reach level 14 in my next dungeon run. To hit level 15, I’ll need at least three more runs. With the time left, I can enter the dungeon five more times, maxing out at level 16. It's a bit less than I hoped, but level 16 should be enough to get into Xiajing Academy."

Exiting the dungeon, Lin Moyu noticed the eerie quietness outside, "Everyone’s gone."

He paused for a moment, quickly piecing together the reason. For those people, leaving was probably the wisest decision.

After looking around, he swiftly vanished into the darkness.
