Chapter 673: When the Rain Continues
The upper layer of the Immemorial Battlefield was divided into three regions: the outskirts, the central area, and the core area. Monsters in the outskirts were below level 50, while those in the central area ranged from levels 50 to 60. Entering the core area meant facing monsters above level 60.
To Lin Moyu’s surprise, the core area was the largest of the three regions, with monsters ranging between levels 60 and 68. Monsters above level 60 were significantly stronger than those at level 59, and they often possess unique abilities.
Over time, the core area had been expanding, leading some to speculate that in millions of years, the entire upper layer might consist only of the core area, filled with monsters above level 60. This expansion was fueled by the light emanating from the core, the energy source for the entire battlefield. Monsters, bosses, secret realms, dungeons, and treasures all originated from this light.
While deep in thought, Lin Moyu spotted a shooting star streak across the sky. These shooting stars were known to signify treasures, bosses, or even secret realms and dungeons—anything was possible.
Lin Moyu continued using Poison Star Ring. At the same time, he triggered a series of explosions. He used Corpse Explosion on every monster corpse he encountered, not missing a single opportunity. When his spirit force was about half depleted, the Poison Star Ring leveled up.
Just then, a white light enveloped him, and he reached level 31, with all his skills except Corpse Explosion and Poison Star Ring now at level 31.
Suddenly, a warmth flowed into Lin Moyu’s body from the Shenzhou Cauldron. “Divinity energy…” He murmured, quickly checking his attributes; his Divinity Force had also reached level 31.
[Divinity Force (level 31): all attributes increase by an additional 31% when leveling up, spirit force restoration increases by 3,100%, and fatigue recovery increases by 3,100%]
The Shenzhou Cauldron had released divinity energy upon his level up, boosting his Divinity Force to level 31, confirming that it would rise with his level. Lin Moyu felt like he was becoming incredibly powerful, wondering just how high his attributes might climb in the future.
He glanced at his attributes again and couldn’t help but chuckle.
[Strength: 1,130 (+3,000)]
[Agility: 1,130 (+3,000)]
[Spirit: 19,650 (+3,000)]
[Physique: 1,130 (+3,000)]
Before leveling up, all his attributes except spirit were at 1,000. Normally, each level-up should increase these attributes by 100, but Divinity Force added an extra 30%, making it 130. At the next level-up, they’d increase by an additional 31%. Similarly, the spirit attribute, which should rise by 500 points, was boosted to 650 points.
Just then, another shooting star fell, closer this time, about 1,000 kilometers away in the direction Lin Moyu was heading. Intrigued, he darted off to investigate.
“If there’s an opportunity, take it. If not, create one.” He recalled Bai Yiyuan’s words, reflecting the philosophy of this God-level powerhouse. According to him, there were many opportunities on the Immemorial Battlefield, but they had to be taken by force.
As Lin Moyu approached the fallen shooting star, others also converged from different directions. Summoning a new Lich General, he allocated all the skeletons from his summon space to it, then began summoning Skeletal Mages. A level 31 Lich General could command 310 skeletons, but Lin Moyu was still short by 110. Summoning each Skeletal Mage required 1,600 spirit force points.
Given his current spirit force, he could summon 14 Skeletal Mages at once. However, for safety, he chose to summon 7 at a time, allowing his spirit force to recover between rounds. Fortunately, his spirit force regeneration was exceptionally rapid—131 times faster than normal.
The undead legions cleared the monsters along their path, but their progress was slow. After two days, they covered the 1,000 kilometers. The 11 undead legions were now at full strength, though Lin Moyu still hadn’t filled all 310 slots in his summon space. He wasn’t in a rush, preferring to take his time.
"It should be nearby!" He thought as he followed the peculiar aura left by the fallen shooting star. Soon, he found monster corpses scattered about, indicating someone had arrived before him. Recalling his undead legions, he sent a few skeletons to scout in different directions.
After reaching level 30, his control range over the skeletons had expanded to 5 kilometers. The Skeletal Warriors, with their agility of 44,000 points, moved swiftly, evading or outrunning most monsters with ease if needed. Through their reconnaissance, Lin Moyu discovered that all monsters in a particular direction had been wiped out, so he hurried there.
After half a day, he sensed energy fluctuations, "There's a battle! Humans... and Demons!" He hastened his pace, rushing toward the source.
A battle was underway between a group of Demons and a party of human class users. The Demons, around level 60, outmatched the human party, whose levels were above level 50. The odds were stacked against the humans—13 Demons against just 6 of them. Despite being outnumbered and outmatched, the human party held their ground through strong teamwork, superior tactics, and excellent equipment.
“Hold on a little longer; the dungeon is about to take shape. Once it does, we’ll enter immediately.” The leading Knight shouted, his voice brimming with confidence.
A Demon laughed darkly, “You won’t make it. Even if you do, you’ll die when you come out. Delicious human flesh—you can’t escape!”
Lin Moyu heard the Knight’s shout and spotted the Demons. His eyes narrowed as he noticed a sword radiating holy light, illuminating the area. Simultaneously, a sword projection appeared above each human class user's head. The brilliant glow forced the Demons to scatter; Abyssal Demons loathed holy power, their greatest nemesis.
Recognizing the skill, Lin Moyu saw Lin Mohan among the human party. She wielded her swords with grace, her movements fluid like a dance, as she unleashed her skill. Another sword projection appeared, dazing the nearby Demons. It was a crowd control skill, giving the Knight a chance to lead the party toward the forming dungeon vortex.
However, the restrained Demons soon broke free, foiling the Knight’s attempt to reach the dungeon. Lin Moyu observed that the Knight might not hold out much longer, at least not until the dungeon vortex was fully formed. Even if they managed to enter the dungeon, what would happen when they eventually exited?
“Sister!” Lin Moyu called out as he ran toward the battle.
Lin Mohan heard his voice, and her expression changed suddenly.
