Necromancer: I Am A Disaster Chapter 20 - New Skill: Corpse Explosion

Four pieces of equipment were neatly arranged before him. The bronze rank items glowed with a pale blue lustre, reminiscent of the Skeletal Warriors' own eerie shimmer.

“These are from the Carmen Beastman Army dungeon,” Ning Yiyi explained.

Lin Moyu frowned slightly, unfamiliar with the dungeon.

Noticing his doubt, Ning Yiyi continued, “The Carmen Beastman Army dungeon is a level 20 dungeon located outside Shaohai City. Those three often ventured there.”

Lin Moyu nodded. The four bronze rank items held little value for him but could fetch a decent price. He gathered them, and Ning Yiyi didn’t object. Among the loot were materials like wolf fur, beast bones, and Green Shoot Grass—though not in abundance. Lin Moyu collected these as well, knowing even the most insignificant materials could be sold.

There was one item that stood out.

[Elementary Skill Scroll: can be used to acquire a skill below level 20. It's possible to acquire an already mastered skill.]

Despite its description, the scroll was exceptionally valuable, worth 100,000 gold coins. Lin Moyu held it thoughtfully, contemplating whether to use it or sell it.

“You haven’t used an Elementary Skill Scroll before, have you?” Ning Yiyi asked.

Lin Moyu nodded.

"Then use it now. Although there’s a chance you might acquire an already mastered skill, but it’s worth the try. No way. Are you trying to sell it? Are you that desperate for money? This is an Elementary Skill Scroll, not an Advanced Skill Scroll—it's not worth that much."

To Ning Yiyi, 100,000 gold coins seemed insignificant, which clearly hinted at her extraordinary family background.

Lin Moyu gripped the skill scroll, "How do I use it?"

Ning Yiyi chuckled, "It's simple. Hold the scroll and say ‘use scroll.’"

"Use scroll!" Lin Moyu spoke the words, not suspecting anything. Nothing happened.

“Oh, that wasn’t loud enough. You need to say it louder.” Ning Yiyi suggested.

Lin Moyu met her gaze but didn’t repeat the words. Instead, he decided to infuse his spirit force into the scroll, trusting his instincts.

Ning Yiyi watched eagerly, still hoping he'd shout the words again. But he remained silent.

Suddenly, the scroll erupted in brilliant light, enveloping Lin Moyu.

Ning Yiyi sighed in disappointment, “You figured it out on your own.”

She had wanted to tease him, but in the end, Lin Moyu discovered the correct method on his own. What a letdown.

The skill scroll transformed into a glowing mass that completely shrouded Lin Moyu.

[Acquired skill: Corpse Explosion.]

[Corpse Explosion (level 1), detonate a corpse and deal 10% of the corpse's health as damage to enemies within a radius of 1 meter.]

Lin Moyu gained a new skill—the scroll hadn't been wasted. Corpse Explosion was currently at level 1, meaning it could only be mastered at level 10. It didn't seem particularly impressive at first glance. Its range was a mere meter, which felt insignificant, and its power depended on the corpse's health.

Lin Moyu could understand the concept of corpse's health. From the perspective of a Necromancer, corpses also had health that stemmed from the flesh, bones, and even the soul. Despite being dead, a corpse’s health could be as robust as when it was alive. For some powerful beings, their corpses might not decay for thousands of years, continually emanating immense energy.

But Lin Moyu saw something more in this skill: the potential for mass destruction. In a situation where he faced thousands of enemies, relying solely on Skeletal Warriors to fight them all would be too slow. With Corpse Explosion, as soon as an enemy was killed, he could detonate the corpse, causing a chain reaction of deaths and injuries within the skill's range. As more enemies died in the explosions, more corpses would be available for detonation, allowing him to continue the carnage as long as his spirit force held out.

Moreover, with his unique talent, the skill's 1-meter range was no limitation—it had already extended to 20 meters, and its lethality had reached 200%. Another godly skill in his arsenal!

With this talent, practically all of his skills could be regarded as godly skills.

Ning Yiyi blinked her big eyes, a look of anticipation on her face, "Did you learn a new skill?"

"I did." Lin Moyu replied calmly, choosing not to rebuke her for teasing him. Ning Yiyi was just playful and mischievous, and he wasn't one to take offense easily

Ning Yiyi beamed, "Your voice is pleasant. Why don't you like to talk? It's really a shame."

Lin Moyu regarded her thoughtfully, noticing how different she was from the other girls at his school—so lively and playful.

"Your voice is pleasant too." He acknowledged, a rare compliment from him.

It wasn't that he was unwilling to speak; he just didn’t engage in idle chatter. When he was with his sister Lin Mohan and his grandmother, he spoke plenty.

Ning Yiyi giggled, clearly pleased. "Thank you for the compliment. I know my voice is pleasant."

"Since you saved me and even praised me, I'll give you this." She took out a box and pressed it into Lin Moyu's hands.

[Intermediate Skill Scroll: can be used to acquire a skill between level 40 and level 70. It's possible to acquire an already mastered skill.]

In the trade office, an Intermediate Skill Scroll was priced at 10 million gold coins—100 times the price of an Elementary Skill Scroll. It was both expensive and precious, and for Lin Moyu, its value was astronomical.

Ning Yiyi had mentioned that her pursuers were after this very scroll. How could she just give it away so casually?
