In this era of Spiritual Energy Resurgence, while the emergence of ability users wasn’t common, it wasn’t rare, either. Therefore, people had formed a habit of reporting to the Special Affairs Bureau once they discovered an ability user.

The Special Affairs Bureau would not use violence to make these ability users submit to them. The ability users were given two options. First, one could join the Special Affairs Bureau and enjoy the perks and salary of a civil servant. The exact rank depended on the potential of one’s abilities. However, ordinary powers weren’t of interest to the Special Affairs Bureau.

For example, if one’s ability only slightly promoted plant growth, it’d be better suited for gardening at home than for the Special Affairs Bureau. The Special Affairs Bureau did not support freeloaders.

That said, some factions within the hidden world might find rapid plant growth intriguing.

The second option was to register with the Special Affairs Bureau. It would log one’s abilities and identity. Unless one caused trouble, the bureau would largely be laissez-faire.

Chen Heng wasn’t annoyed about the doctors’ revealing to the Special Affairs Bureau that Ryougi Shiki was an ability user. He understood it was standard procedure.

After all, Chen Heng was rational and wouldn’t misplace his anger. Right, just pretend this is true.

However, if, for instance, lights near the hospital’s morgue started flickering uncontrollably at night or motes of light appeared on camera, those wouldn’t be on Chen Heng.

The Special Affairs Bureau agents arrived incredibly quickly this time, but that was within Chen Heng’s expectations.

Based on what happened earlier, Ryougi Shiki appeared to be a powerfully destructive ability user. A mere touch shattered a vase.

Don’t underestimate the strength of vases; they are actually very tough. If you punched one, your fist might end up damaged.

A knock came from the door of Ryougi Shiki’s room.

“Come in.”

The door opened, revealing an agent from the Special Affairs Bureau, who paus
