…
Lu Jingyan wasn’t sure when Sheng Xian left, she only knew that when she woke up, she was the only one in the master bedroom.
If it wasn’t for the lights and the bedspreads covering her, she would have suspected he hadn’t come at all.
The room was very quiet, the dim lights perfect for sleeping but she couldn’t sleep at all.
She didn’t know why she was so excited, it felt as though she was caffeinated and filled with energy.
She kept giggling like a little madwoman.
“Sleep, little fish.”
“Little fish.”
Lu Jingyan imitated Sheng Xian’s words a few times and rolled around in the sheets. She buried her head in the pillow and kicked enthusiastically.
After half an hour of excitement, she finally regained her calm.
She never imagined he would take her home.
Even though Sheng Xian didn’t ask anything, she had a feeling he had seen through her lies.
She also suspected that he didn’t probe because he knew she didn’t wish to tell him.
He was very considerate and knew how to give her space.
His type was the most lethal.
Lu Jingyan was suddenly reminded of what Song Xian had said to her, “Baby Yan, you didn’t meet your match, you met your Nemesis.”
Back then, she felt like she had met her Nemesis.
Lu Jingyan suddenly became melancholy and couldn’t help sighing.
Now that she thought about it, it wasn’t just a feeling.
She had indeed met her Nemesis.
…
Lu Jingyan slept till almost noon the next day.
When she opened her eyes to the unfamiliar environment, she became moodier than normal. After taking a few seconds, she remembered it was Sheng Xian’s house and she instantly felt energized, ripping the bed sheets off and heading to the bathroom.
After a shower, Lu Jingyan walked out of the master bedroom.
The doors to the other bedroom and study room were both open but Sheng Xian wasn’t inside. Lu Jingyan walked to the living room and saw her clothes on the sofa. Sheng Xian had washed, dried and folded them into a neat pile.
She walked over, took her clothes and sniffed it. She then glanced around, trying to find Sheng Xian.
Just as she was about to get her phone to call him, she heard noises from outside.
She ran over and saw Sheng Xian changing his shoes through the security footage. Hurriedly, she opened the door.
Just as he was about to open the door, it flew open and a small head stuck out, catching him off guard.
He couldn’t remember the last time someone had opened the door for him.
It was probably when he was still a young kid? It was so long ago he could barely remember.
Seeing his lack of movement, Lu Jingyan asked, “Where did you go?”
Sheng Xian hesitated, “I went to get food.”
That was when she saw the bag he was carrying. Lu Jingyan hurriedly moved aside to let him in, “What did you get?”
“See for yourself.” Sheng Xian closed the door and placed the bags on the table before entering the kitchen.
Lu Jingyan opened the bag and took out a lunch box. She was trying to figure out how to open the bento when Sheng Xian came back with the cutleries.
He placed the cutleries on the table and glanced at the little kid that was staring at the bento box, “Are you on a blind date?”
Lu Jingyan, “...”
She continued staring at the bento box as though he hadn’t spoken.
He stood at the side and watched for a while before giving in. He reached his hand out for the bento box and said, “I’ll do it.”
Lu Jingyan watched him snap the side of the box, tearing off the concealed buckle, opening the lid easily.
Sheng Xian ordered roasted duck, a bowl of soup and two side dishes.
Lu Jingyan sat at the dinner table, not touching the duck at all. When Sheng Xian was done wrapping his duck meat in a wrap, she reached her hand out, “Thank you.”
Sheng Xian swept her a glance, “Don’t you have hands?”
“……”
Lu Jingyan took a moment, before replying, “The roasted duck I’ve eaten are all wrapped.”
Sheng Xian, “...”
He forgot she was an heiress.
Sheng Xian fell silent momentarily, he placed his chopsticks down and wrapped another duck meat, placed it on a plate and pushed it to her.
