Lu Jingyan’s fingers trembled and her phone fell onto the floor.

All the blood drained from her face.

Her clenched fists trembled furiously, and even her breathing increased.

The phone that rarely left her hands suddenly became frightening.

She sat on a random chair in the plaza, opened the beer can and downed most of it in one gulp.

The mall was closed.

There were fewer and fewer people in the plaza.

Lu Jingyan watched the lights in the mall go off one after another but she didn’t leave.

Sheng Xian didn’t drive as he drank tonight.

The road the cab was taking seemed familiar, and when he saw the name of the neighborhood, he realized he was here the night before.
