"So… I'm late?" The female knight eyed the headless corpse on the ground, clearly surprised. "Are you telling me he took down a black-armored commander by himself?"

"Mm. Though hard to believe, it's true," Yaine replied, glancing at Liu Ji, who was toying with the new greatsword he had acquired. "When I first considered taking him as an apprentice, I thought he was a blank slate, someone who had never seen combat. Now, I realize I underestimated him."

Liu Ji swung the greatsword a few times, and whether it was because he found it unwieldy or was simply curious, he bent the blade as if testing its flexibility. To his surprise, the sword snapped in two with a loud crack, startling him.

"Huh? Did he just snap the commander's sword in half?" The female knight raised an eyebrow.

Liu Ji, holding the two broken pieces, looked toward Yaine with an innocent expression.

"Heh, how infuriating," Yaine muttered, stroking her chin. "Look at him, he's actually puzzled about why the sword broke so easily."

"Ugh… Damn, my head hurts…"

At this moment, Osar, who had been lying nearby, woke up. He sat up, rubbing his forehead, and the first thing he saw was the headless commander, causing him to panic.

"What the! Why is this here?" he shouted in shock but soon realized it was a corpse.

He blinked several times, then looked to the side. On seeing the female knight, his face lit up. "Ah! Captain! So it was you who came!"

"Yes, I'm sorry for arriving late. You and Girunini suffered because of it." The female knight sighed. "And, although you might think that corpse is my doing, it's actually his." She pointed at Liu Ji, who was discussing something with Yaine in incantation.

"Eh? He… Ah?" Osar was taken aback.

In truth, the only impression was that Liu Ji could swat a scout to death, then throw up afterward. But now, he had smacked a black-armored commander dead. This was far beyond Osar's expectations.

As he stared at Liu Ji, Osar found an inexplicable sense of unease. It kept growing, gnawing at him as if he had forgotten
