The fourth obstacle featured a long stretch of pressure boards. Shang Jing sat down on the ground and took off his shoes. He mumbled, “Getting a divorce with the jerk is such a hassle.”

Why can’t we complete this game as a couple?

Shang Jing who had yet to realize the true purpose of the game: If He Jiang is here, he would be able to carry me across.

But He Jiang was not with there with him. With clenched teeth, Shang Jing sprinted through the pressure boards to the next station, shooting targets.

In this round, participants were required to hit five moving targets with the words ‘Let’s Get Married’ to pass.

Shang Jing stared at the gun nervously. His palms were already clammy with sweat. He had never touched a gun before, regardless of whether it was a toy or not.

If only He Jiang is here with me.

When He Jiang saw the targets, his face, like Shang Jing, fell. Without hesitation, he picked up the gun and fired five rounds. Five ‘Let’s Get Married’ targets fell backwards and a green light signifying his passing of the round lit up.

The production team must have made adjustments to the set up out of consideration to Shang Jing or they were trying to conceal the progress of each team, but either way, there was no sound effects following the shots.

But that did little to satisfy He Jiang. Signalling to a nearby staff member, he put in a request to speak to the director.

“Shang Jing has a fear of guns. Change his set up. Bow and arrows will work too.”

In an experienced tone, the director said, “It’s normal for couples to face obstacles during their marriage. Only those who are able to overcome the challenges thrown at them will survive…”

He Jiang’s gaze darkened.

The director quickly added, “But rest assured, we have a set of bow and arrows prepared. We are just testing whether you will show concern towards Shang Jing.”

Similarly, they had added in some obstacles specific to the other two couples as well. It was such a pity they did not make it to this stage.
