He didn’t waste any time. He immediately sat down and circulated his cultivation technique as hard as he could. He was sure that time was of the essence and he couldn’t afford to waste it!

****

Boom!

Aboveground, multiple attacks rained down on Tai Ren from different directions!

“Gnats!”

He was furious at the moment. He didn’t know what had happened, but somehow Long Di was able to stop the descent of his Landfall, forcing him to use more of his somatic essence to overcome what was causing this resistance.

Just as he was about to succeed in killing Long Di, the first, second, and fourth elders all unleashed attacks at the same time to injure him.

His body was regenerating as he drew energy from the earth to recover. However, they didn’t dare to let up, they landed injuries in any way they could.

Not to mention that Long Di was Uncle Tian Lu’s disciple. They were well aware that if Long Di were to die, then they themselves probably wouldn’t be far from it, considering the character of this Tai Ren.

They had to buy enough time so that Long Di could escape somehow.

Bam!

“Argh! Damn you! That’s it!”

When another blow landed on Tai Ren, he couldn’t bother trying to drive the technique anymore. With his hands on the ground, he manipulated the energy within the earth, causing it to form into several spikes.

They hardened until they were as tough as steel before shooting them towards the different elders!

He was going to kill them off before returning to finish off Long Di. He was sure that Long Di wouldn’t be able to escape the confines of his Landfall, so he could pause on that for now and focus on these annoying bugs!

Pang!

The blow from the spikes came unexpectedly and without warning as they landed squarely on the elders’ chest!

The only one safe from the attack was the third elder, who took Zhen Paohui and moved him far away from the field of battle.

The three elders spat out a mouthful of blood as they landed in the distance.

Surprise appeared on Tai Ren’s face when he saw that the spikes didn’t pierce through their bodies. However, he could see that they were wearing some sort of armament under their robes. It was extremely similar to what Long Di had worn before.

It was only because of this that the spikes failed to impale the elders, but the shock from the attack was still enough to injure them, hence the mouthful of blood they threw up.

Seeing as how he blew them away, Tai Ren immediately focused his attention back on Landfall.

The mere fact that Long Di was able to momentarily stop Landfall was something that caused dread to well up within him.

“I need to kill this brat!”

He even momentarily forgot about the Nymph. Not like she could escape. Her injured state rendered her too weak to move as well as she’d liked despite healing a good amount.

Rumble!

The land all around shook as Tai Ren began to use his technique once more.

Bang!

“Damn!”

A massive blow landed on the back of Tai Ren! He looked back to see the second elder, who was also a Three-Star Core martial master. Blood dripped down the side of his mouth as he stared daggers at Tai Ren, undaunted by the injuries he suffered.

Ten cauldrons spun furiously behind him. Three were high grade while the rest were white at the medial-grade.

Tan Shui didn’t hold back as he unhesitatingly released another punch at Tai Ren, and the latter retaliated with a punch of his own.

Bam!

A shock wave spread out from the point of impact. Tai Ren only took two steps back while Tan Shui took six steps back. It was obvious who lost in this exchange.

Even though the elders within the village were rather talented, they didn’t have access to the mountain of cultivation resources that the demon before them had. As a result, his cauldrons and techniques outclassed them in every way.

Unsurprisingly, Tai Ren recovered from the exchange first and as such he was able to let loose an attack on the third elder earlier.

“Forge’s Flame!”

Puff!

The manifestation of a forge appeared above Tai Ren, and massive waves of heat fluctuations radiated from it. If he chose to continue with his attack on the third elder, then he would need to face this attack head-on, which was not something he was sure he could escape unscathed from.

“Earthen shield!”

Placing his hand on the ground once more summoned a massive shield similar to the one that he used to protect himself from Long Di’s attack.

Boom!

Flames emerged from the forge which engulfed the entirety of the earthen shield. It quickly turned red from the heat and soon started to show signs of melting.

“Again!”

Layers of earth started to cover and reinforce the defences of the earthen shield. Sometime after, the flames that were being released dwindled before the forge went out completely.

Sweat covered the first elder’s forehead. He actually melted through several layers laid down by Tai Ren, but the latter kept stacking his defences, turning this into a battle of attrition.

Whatever demon this Tai Ren was, he received his power from the earth, so how could the first elder compete with an inexhaustible power source like that!?

As a result, he was a bit winded and needed to recover a bit. However, how could Tai Ren give them this chance?

He quickly dismissed his shield and manipulated the surrounding earth to trap the first elder in place!

The first elder struggled with what strength he was left with but was unable to break free!

Pu Ci!

“Ah!” Screams suddenly erupted from the first elder as a spike suddenly appeared from behind his earthen confines. Blood dripped from the tip of his spike making it known to all what was happening.

The binding of earth that held the first elder in place was sending spikes through the former’s body. The only reason he wasn’t dead was because the heavy armament he wore stopped the spikes from injuring his vital organs. However, the pain of being impaled was still a great one.

“Di Yi Lingdao! Stop it!” The second elder rushed over, intending to distract Tai Ren long enough to give the fourth elder enough time to rescue the first elder.

However, how could Tai Ren not see what they were planning? An earthen wall was erected that momentarily obstructed Tan Shui.

This in turn gave Tai Ren the chance to capture the fourth elder that was already rushing over.

The latter had thought that the second elder would have been able to distract him and as such ran out ahead of time, but when he saw that Tan Shui had been blocked, he could only grit his teeth and keep advancing.

He could see where the ground all around him was continuously shifting, looking extremely malleable.

The fourth elder tried his best to dodge these spots on the ground as he was well aware this was how the ground looked before the first elder was captured. But he couldn’t dodge forever, and eventually, he landed on one of the spots, causing his figure to sink slightly before the earth wound up around him, trapping him firmly.

Two elders were captured just like that, as the fourth elder instantly fell victim to the same treatment that the first elder had.

The screams of the two elders echoed out. Even the disciples that were far away could hear it, and they shivered as a result. Not of fear, but of rage, rage that someone could barge into their home and act so overbearing against them.

If it was before Long Di had brought them to carry out some unsavoury acts, they would be scared right now, but their reinforced character changed all that.

Soon enough, the earth binding covered up the heads of the first and fourth elders as Tai Ren was planning to have the spikes pierce through their heads, killing them!

D-DumI

Suddenly, the sky darkened for miles around while the massive spiritual fluctuations of a high-rank martial technique spread out.

Tai Ren was shocked when he felt this. Due to him being an elite of his sect, he was aware of the classifications of martial techniques that exceeded certain limits, but the pressure he felt now was unlike anything he felt before!

“I am Tai Ren of the Infernal Myriad Ground Clan; is there a senior that this junior had disrespected?” Tai Ren put a pause to his actions and held up a cupped fist in a general direction.

He was sure that no one in this backwater village was capable of learning such a terrifying technique. So he believed that some powerful expert that was passing by was taking action on a whim.

This was much more believable than anyone here being capable of such a thing. However, no one answered his question, which caused his face to twist into a grimace.

Since no one was giving him face, then he would just kill the first and fourth elder and deal with the aftermath when all was done. At the least, the power backing him was not simple, and he was sure that the other party would not go too far.

Dum!

Suddenly, a spiritual lock held him in place, freezing his movements. The second elder had just broken through Tai Ren’s defences at the moment and saw all that was happening.

Without hesitation, he rushed towards the first and fourth elder. He had to get them out of range of whatever it was that was coming for them.

“Personally, I think this looks waaaay better than Ultra Instinct, but I degree. I’ve also decided on a name and feel it would be appropriate to say it here.” A voice augmented by a divine nature echoed out all around. It was unfeeling and emotionless, there was even a bit of coldness to it for all who heard it.

The pit that trapped Long Di earlier was assaulted and torn away by some destructive energy.

Long Di crawled out of the pit while ensconced in a shroud of Heavenly Levyance tribulation lightning energy.

Tai Ren’s heart nearly leapt out of his chest when he saw that it was Long Di who had called down this terrifying attack.

Long Di stared at him with an apathetic expression. His middle finger flickered with the most Heavenly Levyance tribulation energy.

It tore up the ground in a frenzy as Long Di refused to restrain it!

Vrrrm!

Soon after, the clouds above split open to reveal a finger composed of Heavenly Levyance tribulation lightning.

Long Di’s voice came out clear, despite the detonations that went off because of the finger’s emergence. “I call this ‘The Ultimate Flip-Off.’”

Translator Notes

Now for some shamelessness. Heya readers, Discere Sensei here. So the truth, is I have hit some very hard times and would appreciate any help I can get. I recently landed a job interview since I need to feed the fam BUT I would love to have this be my full-time thing cuz I think I have a knack for it and I love it lol The truth is, once I catch up, the release rate could drop from multiple chaps a day to less than seven chapters a week... and I'm meaning like three chaps a week... yep, that sucks.

If this IS my job though, I can do one chap a day at least, I would think. I would more than love it if you guys could support me on Patreon. You can do it for as low as $1.00 a month (bet you didn't think I could be that shameless did ya!? Well think again!) If you guys reach the goal I set there, I can put in the work to increase the release rate on one sweet day of your choosing as well. Help me escape destitution people! You can do it! Hit me up on Discord using the link below if you would like to hang out and chill... not Netflix and Chill, reserve that for Long Di and the other girls. I regularly lurk there like some chupacabra.
