“There’s a Dao for everything. You know this,” Pebbles answered before asking. “You think he went back to where he came from?”

Long Di shook his head. “It would be too easy, and it's never that easy. There's gonna be a bullshit reason for him not going far despite obviously surviving that attack.”

Long Di and Pebbles were deftly aware that Tan Yongzheng was still alive. Long Di clearly felt his attack cutting through flesh initially when the sensation suddenly disappeared, as if Tan Yongzheng vanished without warning.

There were also strange fluctuations lingering in the air as well. Based on everything that just happened, he suspected these were spatial fluctuations.

His neck then snapped to the side and focused on someone in particular. “You, where do you think you're going?”

Wei Yun was walking away when she realised Long Di had defeated Tan Yongzheng. However, his acknowledgement stopped her dead in her tracks.

“What do you want?”

“To kill you,” replied Long Di matter-of-factly as he took slow and unhurried steps towards her.

“You… if you do this—”

“I'll be hunted down and killed by people who already want to kill me,” Long Di waved off what he knew she was about to say. “You see how that bites you in the ass?”

He raised his sabre high to bring down both it and Wei Yun's life.

Lightning collected and crackled on it ceaselessly, and its pressure and aura caused Wei Yun's breath to cut short.

A shout from the side stalled his steps. “Long Di!”

He looked over to the side to see Qin Ling hurrying over to him.

“You want me to spare her?” He had an idea of what she wanted to ask him.

Pebbles interjected, since he thought this as well. “You can't do that Waifu #2, this is the second time I've observed her trying to bring harm to bro. I can't forgive that either.”

"Please, both of you!" Qin Ling arrived with a pleading expression. “She's my friend.”

“And you're his waifu!” Pebbles pointed at Long Di. “Who's closer here!”

“I'm begging you!” She fell on her knees to beg them before Long Di waved his hand, sending a gentle gust of energy to lift her back up.

“None of that,” Long Di's expressionless demeanour caused tears to well up in Qin Ling's eyes.

Wei Yun saw this and her icy mien melted. “Qin Ling I—”

“Say nothing!” Surprisingly, it was Qin Ling who silenced her in saddened fury.

She then turned her attention to Long Di, who stared back at her. “Know this, I have no friends in that place, none to speak of and you weren't there. She was my only friend there and it would hurt me to see her killed and by you no less. You call me your waifu or whatever, fine! I accept the title. Then as my ma…” her face reddened when she saw what she was about to say.

Pebbles smiled mischievously at this. Everything was coming together for Long Di's harem.

“Then me being who I am…” Long Di chose the path of tact for the first time in forever to spare her the embarrassment of what she was about to say. He then continued, “You want me to spare her.”

“Yes!” She nodded.

He thought about it for a while and stared at Wei Yun before seemingly coming to a decision. He fixed his gaze on Qin Ling once more. “Because it's you. IF…” he put up a finger here. “She stands against me once more, I will kill her, there are no ifs, buts, or maybe with this one.”

Qin Ling beamed a smile in response. “Thank you Long Di! Thank you!!!”

“She cannot travel with us of course,” he said as he turned and walked away.

“That's fine! That's fine!” She said happily. When she looked at Wei Yun, however, her smile quickly faded. “I can't say I'm not disappointed, but I couldn't sit by and watch you die. You'll have to return without me.”

“But Qin—”

Qin Ling put up a hand to stop her. “I will brook no argument on this, leave. I order this as the Divine Daughter!”

Wei Yun saw even though the disguise Qin Ling wore, the icy mien she assumed when she gave this order.

She swallowed whatever protest she was about to say. Her head drooped as she turned and walked away.

Long Di didn't care much for their conversation. He just wanted to make sure it ended up with him no longer having Wei Yun anywhere near him.

He made his way to Jixie Wudongyuzhong. “Since I beat the brakes off your lord and saviour ‘Crutches 'N' Crutches,’ you gonna give me those golden keys, or are you gonna fight me and fail?”

Jixie Wudongyuzhong faced Long Di and saw Xiannu Liang healing Heavenly Sun Noble and Violet Flame Noble. He knew the Seven Heroes would follow soon after.

He quickly realised that he wanted none of the smoke and reluctantly gave up the keys to Long Di. He then quickly made his way out of the Relic. He knew he wouldn't live long if he stayed here, especially if and when the Heroes and Nobles recovered.

Long Di saw him off with his eyes and said to himself, “He's gonna die soon… but I won't speed it up without good reason.”

He then turned around and realised that all the keys were on his side, save for two.

He saw the young woman surrounded by a few people staring… staring at him.

Like the polite young man he is, Long Di introduced himself. “Hell—”

“What do you want for serving me!?” said Sun Fenfang arrogantly.

Long Di stared at her average-ass self for a good while before he said something that could only be described as a violation.

“Uhm, you're not qualified to join my harem.”
